He just described a cult "disciplining" a member who was close to breaking away. Textbook cult behavior.... So sickening ...
Huh. It reminds me of how recently in China, people who were caught reporting information or observation on the flu that went against the official state narrative were basically forced to read statements stating their "wrongdoing," and which were then shared on various media platforms to ensure the rest of the masses "comply."
Its a religion man
Metaphix Absolutely! Spot on. I’ve been saying the exact same thing.
@J A Accurate.
The left, at it's fringe, is a cult. The bigger problem is that the ordinary, more moderate left, won't call them out. They are afraid of breaking rank... and more importantly, breaking the trance and admitting there are monsters in their house.
Disgusting and devastating things are happening in our colleges.
Yes, your are correct but I would conclude that the indoctrination that happens to the youth in colleges and universities, only happens and takes hold in the lives of the young people is because their parents have failed to raise them with solid fundamentals and true convictions about life and the world around them and due to political correctness they haven't or chose to not tell them about what is considered nowadays touchy subjects. So the youth believe any and everything there told by these "intellectuals". Also it is true some parents did an admirable job and the child has chosen to go down a different path but most are not taught truths and right from wrong, heck most younger people don't believe there is such a thing as right from wrong, their belief is, "if it feels good to you than it can't be wrong". Its easier to point to an institution and blame them than for some parents to own up to doing a poor job of raising their offspring.
@@conservativecrusader80 it's so true. I homeschool my kids because first years are so important and of course the teenage years
Adam Engelberth well said. This is a reason we still say grace at our family dinners. To inject concepts of correct.
And the admins trained them to think this way and act this way. They just expected these liberal activists to attack society, not them.
just me agreed
This is literally what every cult and radical group in history has always done.
I doubt Patriot Prayer would accept the label.
It’s not a cult as in a religion. These are people who are in favour of an authoritarian government to solve what they see as problems in society. That means draconian laws and punishments, secret police watching over society with prescribed literature and media. A culture of revenge with “re-education” of those they deem to have the wrong thought processes. They are the proto NKVD, Gestapo, Stasi of the modern age.
@@SvenTviking Well said.
Sounds like something from Mao's Cultural Revolution.
100%. Aren't you glad to have a president who doesn't politically back up these leftist stormtroopers, legitimatize and weaponize them?
@TookALevelInBadass If they had the power to do that at Evergreen, they would have. But don't worry, our totalitarian socialists are only getting started.
Yep... struggle sessions
The Evergreen students are the Red Guards. There is no difference in ideology, tactics and targets of both groups. This will not end well.
Or Hitler's Browncoats.
Man. That poor girl. That's one of those things that, regardless of how much someone disagrees with you, you hate to see them treated like crap. I hate that those people humiliated that girl just for talking to someone. Absolutely agree with everyone else, that's straight up cult behavior.
This sounds identical to the traitors in 1984 when they admit to treason on national tv and are then executed. This is wrong on far too many levels, and is honestly more terrifying than just about anything else I have ever heard of.
That book wasn't supposed to be a guide! It was something we were supposed to avoid!
Joshua Reed I get the sense that George Orwell was a prophet.
@@rudrashakti108 Not really -- the "show trials" had already been happening in the Soviet Union long before 1984 was written. These authoritarian socialists spring from the same root as Stalin did, so it's no surprise there's a resemblance.
"Why can't SJWs apologize?"
Short answer: "Narcissism"
“Agree with me 100% or you are my enemy” sadly is the mindset and motto of almost all of these types of individuals. Thank you WeTheInternet for this amazing discussion!
These are not SJW's, they are brownshirts-in-training. Honing their skills on the way to brutality.
They're more like Mao's Red Guards. Brown Shirts are more like white nationalists.
@TookALevelInBadass ... Yes, they remind me of the Maoist Red Guards during the Chinese Cultural Revolution of the 1960s.
@TookALevelInBadass ... Yes, they will put refusniks into re-education camps too.
Justin H communists aren’t racist
Brown shirts only came to power because antifa (same name and everything, basically SJWs of Weimar Germany) became so obnoxious and so powerful that people literally followed Hitler when he was the only one who stood up and fought back against their antics. SJWs are creating an opportunity for someone to seize power just by people getting so sick of them they'll follow anyone who makes them go away.
In the Chinese Cultural Revolution they also made innocent people do humiliating confession speeches. They called them suffer meetings.
*no safe spaces* is a great documentary about this
Well... u.s. colleges may be expensive and they certainly don't guarantee to give a good return on investment, but they do sound welcoming. How could anyone not want to live on a college campus after hearing this story?
Robert Stimmel Incidences like Weinstein’s are more rare they you might think.
@@willhiggins9563 I would hope that incidents to this extreme are rare. I believe that they are, but there is no denying that colleges in America have an obvious leftist bias. They teach subjects from only viewpoint and rarely are students even introduced to conservative or libertarian ideas
Robert Stimmel Then explain all the conservative and libertarian students?
@@willhiggins9563 Being one myself, I can speak on this. Counter-cultural revolution. I wasn't taught anything I'm glad I know now. It's completely anathema to the liberal college agenda. If anyone knew what I really think and believe, I'd actually be on edge for my safety. I was indoctrinated into all of the far-left's crapola and am so glad that the IDW broke me away from it (not entirely their doing, but they showed my an invaluable alternative). The vast majority of us are just too afraid to speak up or speak out out of pure fear of being violently mobbed if we don't conform. Thumbs up if this is your situation/story too.
@@willhiggins9563 RE: "Incidences like Weinstein’s are more rare they you might think."
Actually probably more common than you think. The news just avoids talking about it. Look up Lindsay Shepherd, for example.
Why they can’t apologise simply because they never believe that their wrong.
Yup, they’re shameless.
@@joshjohnson2600 they're NARCISSISTS
When an ideology or even just a hodgepodge set of beliefs can't be historically falsified in their minds, they'd see no need to apologize even if they didn't suffer social consequences for doing so.
Certainly the ringleaders of this crap think at their tender ages of world experience and knowledge at age 18, 19, or 20, they got all their shit together.
"What's to apologize for?", they'd reply.
Paraphrasing what Abbie Hoffman once said:
"Yeah, we were headstrong, but goddammit, we were right!"
Unfortunately many students aren't using logic. It's important both sides always be heard, even when you disagree, too many colleges are only letting one side be heard. Colleges were supposed to be where kids grew up, now they've become expensive day cares. Thanks so much for doing these. Lou needs a green suit for St. Patrick's day!! Best wishes

The old saying a conservative is a liberal who was mugged applies here
Makes a shit ton of sense
D'angelo JacobHymenShits there is also a flip side of that. A liberal is a conservative who was wrongly accused. But the conservative one is the case here. I saw this professor on Tucker Carlson saying how he was a liberal person before this.
@@charlesbaldo again, makes a shit ton of sense
@@charlesbaldo the professor and his wife are still deeply progressive. They however learned a valuable lesson when they were subjected to, what could possibly go wrong, scenario
@Elizabeth Spence Sounds like the core concept of conservatism. Cautious of change.
_"The concept of self-criticism is a component of some Marxist schools of thought, primarily that of Marxism-Leninism, Stalinism, Maoism and Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. The concept was first introduced by Joseph Stalin in his 1925 work The Foundations of Leninism[23] and later expanded upon in his 1928 work Against Vulgarising the Slogan of Self-Criticism.[24] The Marxist concept of self-criticism is also present in the works of Mao Zedong, who was heavily influenced by Stalin, dedicating an entire chapter of The Little Red Book to the issue._
_In some communist states, party members who had fallen out of favor with the nomenklatura were sometimes forced to undergo self-criticism sessions, producing either written or verbal statements detailing their ideological errors and affirming their renewed belief in the party line. However, self-criticism did not guarantee political rehabilitation and often offenders were still expelled from the party, or in some cases even executed."_
That is some scary shit.
Deep inside, I believe this whole new type of cancer started because everyone wants to be accepted for who they are, both inside and out, but some of us are frustrated because we find ourselves attracted to certain people but they reject us because we're not good enough. If only we were taught as kids that not everyone is going to accept us for who we are and that's okay. It's better to just cut your losses with those refuse to accept you as a person. Seriously it still feels like high school these days, even it also happens during college.
I feel bad for her :(
I know and if something is wrong with her mentally those people should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of her situation. Pieces of crap
@@briananderson2219 yay
Just like thought criminals being forced to admit their crimes on the telescreen
Started reading 1984 again a few days ago. The accuracy is incredible.
You can’t apologize if you never think you’re wrong.
These people treat apologies as confessions. Also, their entire position is based on their moral superiority and having the humility to admit you’re wrong would mean you can’t lecture other people anymore.
Well until people start actually fighting back this is going to continue to happen.
Hence the presence of the Second Amendment.
That Tree of Liberty seems to be getting a bit withered lately.
If what he says is true, then that's the very definition of fascism.
Not only is it true, but you can see the footage for yourself.
Benjamin A Boyce has put together a series of youtube video and audio footage of the happenings at evergreen College at the time. Currently there are 18 videos in the chronological series. One of them includes the story told here. It is only one of the very shocking events revealed in the series.
This sounds like a cult behavior
Yes, I’m a boomer. I never thought I’d live to see the day when people are fired, excommunicated, and ostracized for ideas, and thoughts. The cancel culture are no different than witch burners.
George Orwell: GODDAMN IT I WARNED YOU!
That is almost exactly Winston Smith's fate in 1984.
A sad tale, indeed. One must be strong and stand fast.
Sounds an awful lot like a struggle session.
Evergreen College is ludicrous
Funny coincidence but i saw a docu about North Korea yesterday and they do the exact same thing , if someone leave NK to SK and than is forced to come back to NK by telling them their family gonna suffer if they dont come back , once they come back they go on TV read a statement telling how SK is horrible and they say they made a mistake by betraying the great Leader and apologize to the nation.
Wow, what happened to the girl that talked to Brett sounded exactly like the public denounciations that would happen in Cultural Revolution China
Apologizing isn't even in their vocabulary! You have to be literate & have a conscience first.
For a group of people who hate Nazis that was a VERY Nazi thing to do.
That is exactly what our education system is teaching. I always thought something was wrong with the colleges and universities, I am so glad that the money being pumped into our educational institutions by China, Russia, and North Korea was exposed.
To apologize would be to admit you were wrong about something.
Anything.
Well, there's your answer.
Anyone else click thinking this would be a funny sketch, and then realize it was a legit Q&A?
Which sucks because apologies, and acceptance of apologies, are necessary for society to function without excessive friction.
Not only is this true, but you can see the footage for yourself.

Jason Bateman's looking rough these days.
Those were Struggle Sessions Bret. Just call them what they are and admit your part in creating that atmosphere.
AND WE PAY TAXES FOR THESE SCHOOLS !
"She was force to make a statement"
What, like Galileo?
Brett was attacked by those he created.
Sounds like the Roman Empire's punishment of decimation.
I will not be ruled by fear.
Does somebody has a link where I can learn more about the discipline to anyone who brakes rank? This is a startling revelation. I want to learn more.
If people want to get a good grip of understanding communism they need to read Tortured for Christ. It was written by a Romanian Pastor, Richard Wurmbrand.
We are fortunate that this happened to such a good and decent human. Bret makes it difficult to believe the students' slander.
We now live in age where telling truth is dangerous.
What is the backstory here? What happened? A college protest? Against what? Where? When?
Let's keep in mind that this happened and happens at schools where mostly rich people send their kids. In public universities, especially where there is a more age-diverse and experience-diverse student body, this is less likely. #notallcollegestudents ;-)
No, this happens in public schools too. Look at Campus Reform or www.TheCollegeFix.com you'll see it's everywhere.
While I agree that much better schools exist, I have to point out that this problem still worms its way into the system in many subtle ways. My public university alma mater, for example, still has 'safe spaces' in spite of a state mandate against them. I do what I can to counter the insidious ideas by keeping in touch with classmates who became faculty members. However, I refused further reception of their alumni publication with an explanation to them of my reasons. Their declarations of acceptance and tolerance have led to policies that lead me to discourage anyone who values my opinion from attending. My own return would NOT be accepted or tolerated. Those who knew me as a student would see the irony because I spent much more time than the average student developing friendships with people from literally every continent in the world. One of my favorite groups to spend Saturday evenings with were from Thailand. I admired their ability to have fun without drinking. My *roommates* included one from Turkey, one from Tokyo, and many Americans with quite different backgrounds and ideals from mine. I wouldn't say I tolerated or accepted them, which to me are condescending ways to treat people. We enjoyed sharing each others' company.
No, Evergreen State College, where the events being described took place, is 100% public.
Essentially Brett is conveying all normative opinions that fit in the spectrum of 'right wing'. This is how everyone is treated for having a nuanced opinion or being conservative
What's the video hes talking about?
This reminds me of a scene from 1984. At least her brains weren’t blown out at the end.
This is exactly how Scientology oppresses its members. "Disconnection” is their practice in which its members are encouraged to discontinue all contact with relatives and friends who are deemed hostile to the cult. Same damned thing.
See also Alinsky.
SJWs don’t accept apologies, so what’s the point in apologizing?
It's my understanding that not much has changed at Evergreen, that George Bridges is still president and they haven't learned anything, but rather blame all their troubles on bad publicity, that they just need better PR.
I don’t like calling them SJWs anymore. I just call them woke idiots. Use their own pretentious term against them.
This shit needs to be taken seriously and stopped. These Universities can not allow this shit to continue and should not allow students to behave this way. They need to learn they do not run shit. Problem is for now at these Universities they do run shit and that's a problem when they have to deal with the real world and real life.
how old is this clip?
It's basically the Spanish Inquisition.
This stuff is scary.
"being woke means never having to say you're sorry" ~ Tucker Carlson
And they can’t admit when they’re wrong either.
reminds me a lot of of what I've heard about from the Hollywood blacklist hearings of the 1930s and 40s in regards to the significant Soviet Communist influence and funding in Hollywood at the time.
What about his complicity in this movement ??? Bow down to the one you serve you get what you deserve.
That is a heartbreaking story. Poor girl...I will pretend to know she came out of it alright bc she was hip enough to see thru the BS and speak to Breat...but that had to be hella painful
Boy! Hate to see those people if and when the virus bursts their shallow worldview.
Thank you
Fear is used.
I will never understand why people act this way.
Apologies would contradict their years worth of social media posts. They are afraid of looking stupid. Even though they already are.
Scary times ladies and gentlemen
Never underestimate the power of stupid in groups.
Red Guard denunciations. Bringing back the good ol’ Maoist Cultural Revolution
The main difference being that the nationalists are a lot better armed than the commies this time around.
Red suit?
I love your "I don't give a fuck" attitude.
Evergreen should be turned into a trade school to provide value to the community. EVERY trustee should be fired immediately.
That's all they know, power games. I'm going to guess that they feel powerless and pathetic in order to do something like this
so glad to see this on utube so people can see what these creatures are

STRUGGLE SESSIONS
This is so sad
So I’m sure there’s a psych term for this that I just don’t know, but when the ignorant and self righteous are allowed to run free in these institutions they become the very thing they claim to hate. The administrations and faculty are to blame. This is not a spirit of learning. No humility or reverence for that which they do not know. Always assume you may have more to learn.
I tried to write a comment, but words failed me.
That's sad.

I love Brett. I’m right leaning and he’s deeply progressive but I couldn’t care less if we might disagree on some issues. He’s so courageous in standing up against the beta bullies. I’d be proud to stand next to him and fight these crazy SJW’s.
I never understood... what exactly was it he was supposed to have done that made the protesters mad?
Like the Chinese Cultural Revolution and the Moscow Show Trials.
Hey Bret! I have a question for you: When you we teaching these wild dogs you used to call students, did you teach any of them to reach out after they destroyed someone's life? Or did you just teach them to attack anything that moves then stand there with a stupid look on your face when they did exactly that and attacked you?
In short, Bret.. you reap what you sow.
He didn't teach those students.
