This video , more than any other factor , is the reason I hunted down and purchased a 2004 Roadster as my first Harley and I haven't regretted it for a second .Thanks Guys !
I have one in two tone real red. Had it customized on the showroom floor. Just to many custom parts and upgrades to print out. Had a 21k budget when I bought the bike and blew they to hell. Still looks great and runs great. I get lots of compliments on it. Can't wait to get it back on the road this spring.
does this year of Harley have a fuel pump that makes a sound when ignition turns to on? i am trying to diagnose my bike to see if it is a battery issue or fuel issue, but when i turn my ignition to on position i do not hear a noise in the fuel pump area like i do on a-lot of newer motorcycles. mine is carbureted as well.
No mate , there is no fuel pump on an 04 to 06 Roadster or Custom . If you look behind the airbox you will see a carburettor . The sound you are hearing comes from the clocks .
I just bought a 2005 version. Gotta replace the front forks and bought new tires for it. After that it's in perfect condition. Runs great after a carb clean and fluid flush.
Yeah, I hate looking at these beautiful sportys butchered all to hell by idiots. The bikes weren't made to be choppers, they were made to be a nice upright standard. Finding one that hasn't been f'd up by morons is next to impossible.
@@originalclassics it really is. It’s a beautiful bike. I got into bikes via cafe racers. When I started getting into Harley’s I this model never use to appeal to me really liked the 48. But the more I looked for the perfect bike the 1200XLR came before me. Unfortunately I couldn’t grab this one I found. It was an 04 black with only 2700 original miles for 4500. But found a black cherry version instead. Still happy nontheless.

Nice bike. I have one. The tank is a 3.3 gal, not a 4.5, like it is on the Low and Custom models.
Bought one y’day. 2005 Racing orange with matching saddlebags. Excited :)
Now that is a gorgeous motorcycle Harley Davidson ,,that's why I got one! Mine's a 2005 though.
I love these model!!
Love that seat and the exhaust pipe ...
I would buy it but I have it one 2006 year :) Lovely bike!
Do you still have it? I'm in the market Been looking for a low miles and not chopped up or altered in any way. It looks great.
Front indicators ( Turn signals ) have been relocated .

Did this replace the xl1200s?
Just bought myself one

the 1200s and the '04'-'05 1200R's are the best sportsters ever made. Problem is finding them without lowering shocks, apes, and forward controls.

How many miles can these last with regular maintenance?
I kept everything stock expect for forwards. More comfortable for taller rider.
@@Steven-or1uc This has to be the last good looking Sportster model

what about the rims ??? what means a fraction of the cost of a new one ??? is the tranny a 4 or 5 speed ???
4.5 gal tank?
🎉 excelente 🎉
Which is better this carb model or the fuel injected?
The carbureted model is better by far. EFI is a nightmare to work on and the parts are crazy expensive.
Has this bike sold yet?
4.5 FUEL TANK ??? HOW ABOUT 3.3 Hello...
MUSIC BY ???
I have that same one
😲🤩
nice video guys, how much ?? haha
The gas tank is 3.3 gallon,I’m sorry is not 4.5
those 4.5 gal tanks look VERY strange on Sportsters.
yep 4.5 is a large ass tank...
he forgot to talk about the turn signals if you push both at the same time the 4 way flashers come on...
is this bike still 4 sale?
yes it is on ebay now . GOOGLE SEARCH; " kaplan cycles ebay store"
which page there's over 50 I can't find it?
google kaplan cycles ebay store it is there or search ebay for 2004 roadster sportster- Ken
now this bike Horse power if very high, this bike is super fast too... he forgot about that , i just rode one and yep it is very fast...
Wrong,3.3 gallons please brother
Wrong wrong wrong the tank hold 3.3 gallons
Templario Del Apocalipsis is that US gal?
4.5 us gal is 3.7 imp gal.
But you won't get 200 miles from a tank. 140/150 miles if you're lucky which is good for a Sportster.
Great bike.
I have that bike. Mine is blacked out. I hate the way the motor looks silver. Its ugly
All that sales pitch and don't mention a price. I just bought a 1999 Xl1200s for $3995. Mint condition from original owner.
miles?
That's terrible. I just bought a 2009 sportster custom with under 10000km for $5500 and its mint.
the price is a FRACTION OF THE COST OF A NEW ONE HE SAID??? Haha...
So you dont have to wear a helment in the U.S how cool,, is that not,
If you have taken the biker course or have full insurance you don't have to. But I'm sure in some states you have to have it regardless.
Better to have the choice though isn't it? I'm from the UK we have daddy government telling us. But I prefer less regulation.
Charles Manson Yeah, better to not help the less fit succeed. Government regulation hampers natural selection and positive evolution
Hey Karen not in all states
