I’m still young but god damn this makes me feel old as fuck. I don’t know why but Christmas in general and Christmas commercials hold a special place in my heart.
Such nostalgia - I remember looking through the store catalogs for HOURS when I was a kid. They had nice, thick paper back then, lots of cool toys, the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog was the BOMB!
Same here I was born in 1994 and I'm 27 I'm those Christmases I wish we could do a throwback holiday commercials on tv this year to bring back the memories especially Christmas movies to
Interesting, isn't it? So many of us spend our entire childhood wanting to be grown.... Only to become an adult and wish more than anything we could go back, even briefly. I find it funny too, that we cursed commercials to high hell back when, now we are choosing to watch those very commericals 😆
Lies. I never wanted to grow up, and I never did! 25, and even with making mortgage payments and all, I still play with my old Pokémon figures! Haha! But commercials sure do have a different vibe to them now. I miss the old stuff.
I remember when I was a kid one day it was a snowy day. It was probably a few days until christmas. We went into the car, got happy meals, and looked at christmas lights. :) I have no clue how I remember this little small event from at least 10 years ago, but it is just those little things. Small things like that and Christmas commercials made me happy and excited for Christmas. :) Unfortunately it is September, but I love getting into the holiday mood early! (98 more days!!!)
@@MariaSilva-ce7wc you never know just what you have until you lose it. so love love the people in your life while you can. We only have one life to live. Merry Christmas God bless you
Does anyone remember the Sears “When is the best time to buy?” Commercials? I remember as a kid that my family had a recorded copy of Hook from ABC, and there was some of those commercials on the copy. Always brings back memories.
Living so far west, I'd never seen that Publix commercial (I had one of their sandwiches the first time I went to Florida, though, amazing!), but it reminds me of my family's own Thanksgiving salt and pepper shakers. Ours are also pilgrims, but they're also bears.
Kind of sad that commercials that just wanted to sell me stuff now hold so much nostalgia for me but they do. 🤦🏻♀️ They are basically little idealized representations of the culture of the time so it makes sense... but DAMN commercials try to toy with people’s emotions in order to open their wallets.
It doesn't matter how seperate we all are during the 2020 lockdown. It doesn't matter how slow the year feels with all the nonsense happening. Soon it will be Christmas again. It will always be Christmas again.
I miss these times 😭 it's June 22 and everything sucks. Even when the holidays return it's not the same like it was 20+ years ago. It's scary how time flies. I'm 46 years old and it seems like I was 30 just yesterday. 🤷🏻♂️ Anyway have a good summer everyone 🙏🏻
Absolutely! I'm 34 and think the same thing. I do sense the same feeling during the holidays sometimes. Mainly because of my own children. And decorations, etc still make me feel great. But...it still isn't 100% the same. Oh my goddd...I love technological advancements we have seen, but is it the fault of technology for so many people having the same feeling?
8:09 Thank you! I've been looking for this commercial ever since I saw it on an early DVD issue of Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer but haven't been able to find it on UA-cam.
This is back when you got home from school, you would watch the commercials of grandmas show or cartoon network(when the tv was available) to make your Christmas list. 🤣😅 then go outside play till you pushed it to the limit or were blue in the face from the cold. 🥰 Nowadays, the holidays just feel like another day. And I dont know if its cause we suck at making it feel like Christmas, unlike our parent(s), or its cause this technology and people changed so dramatically its offensive to enjoy a holiday. 🤔😭
Christmas doesn’t feel the same anymore because of all the reasons you stated. Mankind is too arrogant (due to technology) with a stick stuck up his a** to embrace something as magical as Christmas.
didnt even celebrate chirstmas but anytime it was a bit colder, youd see these commericails and see the decorations in the mall and such, was always a nice ambience
Interesting. To this date 2003 was the worst Christmas I ever had. The reason why Im saying this is because i see a lot of nostalgia comments and we don't realize for every day we keep thinking about the good ole days are the days that are golden to others that will eventually become nostalgic for others , especially the younger folks. So make every moment Special for yourself and other people .
I told myself that at one point in life too. And almost felt like it was supposed to be perfect based on how it’s all portrayed in media. As I got older and looked at how screwed up everything was in my family and the world and everything kept quickening and getting worse, I just gave up on a perfect Christmas. I hope you get yours though.

Hello AMERICA...I'm inquiring abt a recent (2019) t.v. commercial. It's animated, stars a gingerbread cookie w/issue's (modern), who gets a cookie/puppy as it's "emotional support animal". They're out on a walk & cm across "SANTA". After SEEING the pup is a "COOKIE", Santa of course gets elated. But the gingerbread cookie & the pup are horrified (they know what SANTA is abt to do). The pup immediately jumps into the gingerbread cookie's arm's. If YOU haven't seen it, it's HILARIOUS! I've NO idea what product is being represented at all. I'd LOVE to be able to see it again. Thanks
