🎄 it's so hard to decide which one is my favorite Christmas commercial, There are way too many good ones out plus there's way too many good ones too. I'm just going to cut straight through the middle here, they're all my favorites. good times and good memories plus good entertainment too.
Funny how back when they were new I'd skip them without a second thought. Now here I am 30 years later watching them with a tear in my eye lol. Life is crazy
Im 41, i miss these beautiful 90s holiday commercials. Back in the 90s i miss how Christmas wasnt so commercialized and it was about family, peace, the real meaning for Christmas. Now all i see is boring shopping commercials, nothing really to make me feel the Christmas spirit like i did in the 90s.

Yes, they were still selling you stuff, but they did it in a more fun and stylish way. They put a lot of effort into making the product look fun to make it more desirable. I just don't personally see that in commercials nowadays. Some of these 90s commercials, I would say, are art with how they are filmed. In the 80s and 90s, commercials were more interesting and fun to watch because of how creative they were.
Man....this hit pretty hard. We had no idea how good we had it back then. The weekend after Christmas, my parents letting us rent a Genesis game from Blockbuster....the best of times.
its literally nostalgia. I do not know why people cannot separate nostalgia from reality. you have memories of this when you were young, your brain is going to make it feel warm to you. That's all it is. People who did not grow up in this era will think these commercials suck
@@MoonStone-f2w I was more referring to the prevalence of today's commercials that don't feel like they have any soul anymore. Instead most commercials today are trying to be like viral videos, by overusing weird and random tropes in order to look interesting. It's a strategy that is known as "oddvertising" and in more recent years it's just become blatantly bizarre.
I actually agree with you! Yes, part of it is most likely “nostalgia” but we gotta admit these commercials are awesome & pretty creative! And you’re right.. they don’t make cozy commercials like this anymore. So it’s a mix of both!! Nostalgia for a simpler and better time AND bad ass holiday commercials!!
No one noticed Bryan Cranston in the JC Penny commercial? Not only is he an amazing actor, his hustle and determination to make it to where he is today is inspirational.
13:10 The fact that this and the kisses commercial are still running to this day shows how ICONIC these commercials have become. And in my mind, they act as a way to kick off the holiday season.
Man there was something special about that coke commercial and I always got excited going to grocery store and santa was starting to pop up on the coke cans you knew christmas was around the corner.....
Bro u aint the only one I loved going to Walmart with mama seeing all the Christmas lights noing I had surprise for me under the tree. I WISH LIFE WAS THAT EASY AGAIN 😅
Perfectly stated! 90s and older commercials are just calming and comforting, and often times cute and charming. If there was a way to replace the modern commercials with 90s and older commercials whenever I watch TV or listen to Spotify, I'd be so much happier and way less stressed and depressed!
The last great era before internet took over and ruined everyone's lives. Nothing is sincere anymore. Always in a rush and want things "NOW." WHAT A BEAUTIFUL REMINDER OF SIMPLER TIMES......❤
Christmastime in the 90s were so magical in that time. I do miss Blockbuster Video, Toys R Us, even classic commercials like those. However, Pizza Hut, Burger King brings back nostalgia and Toys R Us comes back thanks to Macy’s. Thanks for posting and Merry Christmas. 🎄🎁 🎅
As a kid of the 90's, these commercials always put a smile on my face. It's so sad we don't get to see commercials like these anymore. Now everything is all about the commercialization of the holidays and normalized consumerism. It's not what the holidays themselves are about.
Back when Fred and Barney argued over whose Fruity Pebbles it was. Nowadays, the commercial would have them identifying as "fruity pebbles" and holding hands😂
My favorites were the Campbell's soup and the Carnation hot cocoa commercials. Something about the theme of a snow day or a sick day staying home from school in the winter, just says cozy & nostalgic to me. The Macintosh computer one at the beginning made me laugh though. We were always a Microsoft family but that was a good one.
Kind of hard to believe that Toy Story was released in the mid-90s. Thirty years ago this year in fact. That movie hold up as well as any movie ever released, pretty crazy considering it was the first fully CGI movie ever made - using technology would be considered caveman level compared to today.
During December, I wish they could play all these Christmas commercials back on television again. Miss them and I enjoy them as well. Good times and great memories.
It's sooo funny to me! I hate commercials now as an adult, but I could watch these all day long. The nostalgia is ineffable, a time when things made sense, boys were boys and girls were girls. There wasn't all this abhorrent BS in society. Oh, if I could only go back in time!!!
Some of my favorite commercials from the time are the ones with hand drawn animation because it's not done anymore. I like the coke commercials with the cgi Polar bears and the one with the Santa trucks.
I would always beg my parents to buy me a Hess truck or a car or whatever but they never could afford it so I would just dream about it but I’d love their commercials they were really beautifully put together
@@stickwithjen8778 I was able to get a fire truck which got lost and the 1991 truck which I still have. Looking at the prices it went up a dollar every year till today.
The 90s were the end of basically everything. Commercials, music and movies were all about bringing the family together whereas nowadays, it’s all about tearing the family apart. Everything has been going downhill since the year 2000.
Christmas commercials were so wholesome and whimsical back in the day, and gave you a warm fuzzy feeling. Now they use politically correct footage with actors dressed in bling, with purple hair, dancing to club music.
The glory days of commercials, we will never have commercials like these anymore. These made me happy, todays commercials make me depressed so I mute the tv.
Crazy to think the man in this commercial 11:20 would go on to start one of the largest drug empires of all time. it's always the people you least suspect
I was born in 87 so I got to watch most of these commercials! What a magical time! 90’s were the best! Everyone got along, everyone knew what gender they were, and everyone wasn’t so sensitive about stuff! Social Media really killed all that.
Was waiting for the Gap commercial with the girl Rock band playing I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. I had such a crush on the one in the pink sweater. (I was exactly their age when it came out)
There's something warm, cozy, and innocent about most 90s and older commercials. I honestly hate most modern commercials. They're mostly all about drugs, medicine, insurance, political stuff, smartphones, rushing from one thing to the next, and making money. And they're always depressing or trying too hard to sound/look sexy somehow or be edgy and overly modern. There are hardly any more cute, innocent commercials that show families and kids, unless you're watching a kids/family targeted channel.
I was born in 1979, as a teen amd young teen remember these 90s commercials very well every year. I miss the days when the world was wonderful before now how its gone to complete 💩 Nothing now but politics, phone plans and pill comercials with all their side effects.
