    It's interesting that Mario's hero was Lafleur and his hero was Beliveau.
    Lemieux and Beliveau were more like each other in playing style (and height!)

    You know you're big when Gordie Howe, Guy Lafleur and Jean Beliveau praise you lol.

    7:25 I liked that Jordan mentioned the parallel between their careers... it's kinda mind boggling:
    * Both drafted in 1984
    * Both rookie of the year in 1985.
    * Both won their first championship in 1991 and repeated in 1992 and won Playoff MVP both times.
    * Won first MVP in 1988.
    * Both won 3 All-Star game MVP, sharing in 1988.
    * Both were known as scoring champions who couldn't win championships initially.
    * Jordan has 10 scoring championships , Lemieux has 6.
    * Both have Olympic medals. Jordan was part of legendary 92 Dream Team while Lemieux was part of most exciting 1987 Canada Cup series and ended the 50-year Olympic drought in 2002.
    * Their most famous playoff scoring play was in Game 2 of the 1991 Finals where they both split the defense and moved the ball/puck from right to left before shooting.
    * Both took a 1.5 years off in early/mid nineties. Jordan for early retirement, Lemieux for his back.
    * Both came back in 1995 and tore the league up in the 1995-96 season for which they both won the scoring championship and MVP.
    * Both retired in late 90s that lasted a few short years before making a comeback in the early 200s.
    * Both became owners.
    I say Jordan is the better player because he was also stellar on defense and Lemieux was underrated but not a Selke Trophy winner.
    Lemieux is the better owner though.

    Le Magnifue. The best EVER.
    And I will be at the game tomorrow 2/18/2024 when the Pens retire Jagr’s jersey.

      I am so glad this is happening - born in the 70s, watched hockey growing up and even though 99 was considered “The Great One” he never impressed me the way Mario & Jaromir did. They are both the complete package in a way 99 never was - the same long arms and legs, the stick handling ability, Mario could score at will, Jaromir was The Human Highlight Reel and I never saw 99 have the kind of chemistry with any of his teammates that Mario and Jaromir had with each other on the ice. I never saw it before them, and I’ve never seen it since. Each, in their own way, oozed JFK level charisma. And us Pens fans were blessed to watch it for 11 seasons. With his 68 being retired Jaromir is finally back where he belongs

    Brodeur, Lafleur and Beliveau in English? Wtf? It would have been much more personal in French I guess
