Smokeless powder always just seems inconsistent in 45 Colt, so much case volume can't be filled out. the only powders i like is 7 grains with HP-38 or Black powder loads.
I did a very similar antiquing. Your grips turned out nice....I'm going to try something like that. It looks really good. Did you sand off that weird texture from the brass?
NICE job!!! I've been thinking the of doing the same thing with a used hombre. I want an "old" looking peacemaker. I think the ugly hombre is just the thing!! I heard though that the mechanics are rough and smooth though.
This one feels and shoots great. There’s a little hitch in the very last bit of the hammer travel which I think might be the weird internal safety. I may switch out the hammer and trigger eventually but it’s fine as is.
Great improvement! Gun looks tough now.
Thanks!
Look for a burr around firing pin hole. Stone it smooth. Common problem with new Uberti.
Thank you. I’ll check it out.

My loads with Autocomp have been fine. The HSM ones are particularly bad

No, I left the brass alone. Mine looked okay and I didn’t want it too shiny.
Nice!
Thanks!
Have you had any trouble with rust after removing the finish?
A bit in the cylinder bolt notches only. But overall it’s been fine
