Wood Turning a Weird Log into a Bowl

- I woodturned this bowl from a weird shaped eucalyptus log. I was hoping to keep it natural edge, but I had to fill some gaps with resin (which made it wobble quite a bit on the lathe). Some things I could have done better but as a beginner I'm still pretty happy with how this project turned out!

When you poured the resin, I was worried about your choice in color. But my fears were unwarranted because I don't think any other color would've made the piece as beautiful. Great eye! Look forward to seeing more
Thanks! I agonized for a while picking a color because I thought nothing would look good, but I think it turned out ok ;)

Wow, what a difficult project! I've turned eucalyptus once, and it was just a small bowl, and hard as diamonds. But very much worth it! Great work!

Eucalyptus are known for being brittle in the wind so I was surprised at its strength to be turned. Marvelously revealed coloring of the wood!

I just got a wood lathe and have a odd shaped branch of strawberry tree wood with a burl on. This has given me the confidence to work on it thanks

Thank you! For resin, REALLY light pressure at first until it's mostly round. Other than that it's not difficult, have fun!

There is something extraordinarily satisfying about watching a master craftsman at work. Turning something as beautiful as this from an innocuous piece of wood that can be found lying around (ok with a little resin). Excellent video
