  • In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2004 GMC Safari. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this van while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this van designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

the best van ive seen. simple masculine styling, lots of room and great towing capacity. i just wish they brought it back to replace the outdated express.

This van is brilliant. My friends father has one just like it in grey and after 210,000 km and being left out in freezing winters and hot summers it's still going strong!

You know what amazes me about Kyle's videos? I usually wouldn't be interested in watching a tour of a GMC Safari, but it's done so well that I sit and watch the whole thing and love every second of it. Great vid, Kyle!

Yes in my high school years the had the Chevrolet Astro version they were 1998 model years they replaced the Chevrolet Caprice wagons (they had the LT1 Corvette engine & dual exhaust pipes) those things would move when the driver put their foot down. They still had the Astro vans in 2002 when I graduated they used them up until 2006 (I lived near the school and their vehicles had unique markings so I knew they were theirs) I then saw a lot of Chevrolet Express vans. I moved further away from the school and I lost track if what they use now. I think 2005 was the last year of these. Too bad American automakers don't make decent full size vans anymore (Yes I am looking at you Ford why oh why did you discontinue the Econoline Vans) and yes I know this is a mini-van

**Last Comment** The tailgate is not the same. GMC on the tailgate is GMC TRUCK. (Only for auntie's Safari van) And even when you open the tailgate, You have to press the "Rear Hatch" button Located on inside the car. That's all!

We had a 2000 Astro years ago, and it was great for hauling, but had hundreds of problems with everything. We ended up selling it after 4 years, but I found it in Enthusia Professional Racing for the PS2 and with AWD I killed in it. XD

I crashed my old Astro van offset into a 2015 Explorer that ran a red light, we were both doing 30-ish. The Explorer was totaled but I sold the Astro to a guy who just replaced the front end and all good. They also made structural improvements to the Astro's since 1999 and they fixed the buckling of the floor and roof. Mine was a 2001

I’m not a Chevy person, but I like GMC. Yes, I know the Astro and the Safari are the same van, just like the Dodge Caravan/Chrysler Town & County/Plymouth Voyager. But I would definitely go for the GMC Safari more than the Chevy Astro. That’s just my own opinion.

These were perfect for small HVAC contracting work. I'm talking of course about the work model, not this passenger van. These were small but not too; They also get decent gas mileage. My only complaint though, is with the interior. While the one I was in and used didn't have many options (companies hardly ever give you a maxed out work van :p) the dash and the center console, hell even the door pannels felt cheap as hell! I even broke the center compartment by opening it a little too quickly..
