Beautiful joint, one that I am going to add to my "box" so to speak. But I don't understand why you made it so difficult. Even if only using hand tools, 3/4s of your joints can & should be done with a saw rather than chisel. Takes the chance of breaking the joint connection much less of a chance. Finishing up with a chisel, of course. Could even use a brace to bore out the dado
Really?? Did we watch the same video?.. Every time that chisel is flying forwards having left the wood it's out of control.. and at 1:26 he's right over his line.. Not that great at all..

@@m.bh.535 The beauty is in the wood already color, strength smell. Over complicated jointery shows man's weakness and lack of harmony with wood. Keep up the good fight. I included myself with these short comings. Good luck always
My thoughts glue will definitely help. The problem is over time wood will naturally bend and change to Mother Nature. Hot /cold. Dry / moist. These forces create movement in the wood. If it were to stay one temp or always dry. The longer any projects will last. Adding complicated jointery doesn’t help. In fact all new woodworkers try to discover new jointery ways instead they should rely on what’s proven. Look to the wood for guidance.

I agree not strong joinery and it wouldn't make sense to dig dowels into it but its cool that you made this, very creative
