Plain and simple there is no wrong answer. If you want a blank slate to customize to your preferences buy the Street Glide, but if you're looking for done and dusted, the CVO is the best choice.

I did exactly what I bet a lot of people do. I bought a 2019 StreetGlide Standard and proceeded to make it into my Standard Special mini CVO. 😂 Well. At least I made it into the look I really wanted. I know I won’t get the value out of what I put into it, I love it 🥰 Ride safe
I ride solo so the only thing I would change is the rear seat for a touring pack 1 with back rest for extra comfort. All up a pretty amazing bike you’d have for at least 5 years to get value out of your spend.
Thank you for explaining in simple terms. I agree for those who like to customize their bikes and personalize them the CVO is NOT for them. But the rest of us who don't really "tinker" its the best way to go, especially if you were going to upgrade your bike with all the amenities anyway. Keep up the great content!
Wonderful vid, y'all. Being a guy that uses his bike as a daily commuter, I REALLY appreciate Matt's common sense approach to shopping/chosing a motorcycle. Personally, I ride a Ultra Limited Low to work every day....and need the storage for stuff I take to work, and because I have a 40 mile ride one way, it helps having space for rain gear and such... And, don't get me wrong... I LOVE my 2015 Ultra Limited. It does everything I need it to do. But, I hafta admit.... I'd L O V E to experience a CVO ride every day....practical or not. Lol...
I own Indian Chieftain 18 and it's a dope bike with some custom stuff . But this CVO compering to Chieftain Elite is just absolutely amazing, Harley really did good job to some details!! Air filter , mufflers, wheels, paint, I can go on and on... Chieftain Elite comes with most stock regular parts, I mean very disappointing from Indian. Good job Harley.
Great video gents. During my last purchase it was between a used 2018 CVO or a 2017 SGS, with exhaust, seat and rack. Due to price point, and trade value I stuck with the SGS and so far the only change I made is 12" KST bars, but have a fueling cam going in soon. CVOs look damn good for sure.

...hey Nick, hey Matt, well sorted...i think the design, paint and style of the CVO's really are the deciding factor...you have to love the look of that bike, other upgrades are secondary, to invest...i have one of those SG Specials you allude to, and much like your own, it's mine, we had a personal vision we were able, more or less, to fulfill...now a Cow Glide, for instance might still appeal to me...
I never could talk myself into spending the extra money for a CVO even though (a retired dealer) I was trading for a new street glide or road glide every year. That was until I saw the 2019 two tone silver with all chrome accessories Road Glide. I had already changed from the street glide to road glide after owning one for a year, and yes I agree, the road glide fairing is not as good looking as the street glide,,,,but where I found the big difference is how solid the road glide is over the street glide when an 18 wheeler goes by you,,,either direction,,,,and I noticed it was less work in a hard all day side wind like heading to Sturgis on interstate 90. I also feel it handles better at slow speed because you're not pushing the weight of the fairing mounted on the handlebars. So I'm spoiled now,,,,,love all the extras and yes,,,they add up to a lot more enjoyable motorcycle, so I'll be keeping this one for awhile. Ocala Fl.
I think when you buy a cvo they should come with the 131 motor. The 117 is cool but the cvo is supposed to have the beat and newest things from Harley Davidson.

The same bike my buddy bought after I showed him your previous comparison video of the Street Glides should come from factory with the bolts black though His ol lady rides a Ducati 959 Panagale and says the CVO feels faster than her Duke when she rides it

The seat height is so low that my knees are above the gas tank at 6'3". Rear shocks are horrible. If you take the bags off it looks unsightly. What's with that? Gorgeous paint. I'll just buy a Honda Goldwing.

Question: When did chrome fall out of fashion? I'm not a big fan of the blacked out engine, pipes etc..... Beautiful bike but the blacked out scheme is a deal breaker.
My constructive criticism on this video: The whole time you're talking about all the things on the bike, we should be seeing those things and just do a voice overlay.

Since ur down in SoCal, its warmer, there for u wouldn't be exhaling warm air to make it fog up. Wheres I up in Seattle Wa with the weather cooler notice when I'm riding and exhaling I'm fogging up like mad. But the Bandit is the only helmet that does it. I have others like Bell that never fog up no matter how cold it is. Anyway, was just hoping to get some insight. Hope it is just the weather conditions and it wont do it when its warmer out. Thx!

@@eagle1hd Every company with slowing sales in a shrinking market isn't dying. Suzuki has seen sales fall massively over the last decade, they aren't dying. Every business has ups and downs, over 117 years Harley has been through harder times than these. We've got the Pan America and Bronx on the way, the Low Rider S has been a massive success, and Harley is continuing to try and build not only their market share, but the number of riders in the US. Its unfortunate that this Virus has struck, closing down the factory and causing large amounts of the us workforce to be layed off, but as a nation we will recover, and so will harley. As I said, if you've got 117 years under your belt, you will have had some ups and downs.
The 2019 has the better sound system, but the trade off is you have to have the lowers. some guys like them, and some guys don't. I don't like the lowers, but like I said in the video, I think when they removed them they should have added a 21 inch wheel up front to make up for it.
I have been to dealerships where they say they can't order CVOs and that HD Corp sends the dealerships CVOs based solely at their (HD Corp) discretion. True or False?

According to harley's website, MSRP is 21,699 for black, its 895 for the radio, freight is 435, and california emissions is 200. If you wanted RDRS thats another 995, and a color option is a 500 dollar premium as well. So you just add up the options you do or do not want, then its roughly 10 percent for tax and license.

I don't mean to sound like an ass, but I hope Nick doesn't take over doing the video, test rides. He's just a kid and not really a Harley expert. I know Matt is busy with sales management, and I can see him passing the torch to Nick to take some of the burden off. Still I'm a old head and I prefer Matt and his extensive knowledge about the brand.
My content has and always will be supplemental to Matt's, you don't have to worry about me taking over the channel. Matt can usually only edit one video a week, and I can usually only do 1 video every two weeks or so. But that will work out to about 20 extra videos for the channel over the course of the year, which if I dont make them they simply wouldn't get made at all. I know I'm no Matt, but Matt and I agreed it was better than not doing the video at all.
When they lost the lower Fairings and Chrome they Lost Me! It’s cheaper to paint 🎨 than to chrome ! Harley disguises their Cost cutting production measures on what should be a Premium Bike ! No thanks! Yes I’m 54 & remember what a Real CVO used to be!

As far as the braking difference, my theory is that the lager diameter wheel has more leverage against braking than the smaller diameter wheel.

Shane Eayrs mine doesn’t fog but like you said I don’t ride in the same weather as you. There are anti-fog sprays you can get though.

The CVO seat is great for 1.5 to 2 hours. After that it's not very comfortable. The CVO limited has the all day seat on it.

We've got the Pan America and Bronx on the way, the Low Rider S has been a massive success, and Harley is continuing to try and build not only their market share, but the number of riders in the US.
Its unfortunate that this Virus has struck, closing down the factory and causing large amounts of the us workforce to be layed off, but as a nation we will recover, and so will harley. As I said, if you've got 117 years under your belt, you will have had some ups and downs.

What's the better sound system, 2019 or 2020 CVO? I personally think they should have keep the 6 speakers.
The 2019 has the better sound system, but the trade off is you have to have the lowers. some guys like them, and some guys don't. I don't like the lowers, but like I said in the video, I think when they removed them they should have added a 21 inch wheel up front to make up for it.
What separates the costs from a CVO is extreme cost to the consumer
I have been to dealerships where they say they can't order CVOs and that HD Corp sends the dealerships CVOs based solely at their (HD Corp) discretion. True or False?

Yo Matt..youve mentioned in your vids Laidlaw's doesnt charge added dealer fees, etc. but when I reached out to yall about a RG, yall were asking 3k over msrp. What's up w/ that?
Unfortunately we do have to charge this annoying thing called sales tax and registration. We don’t charge 3k over MSRP.

@@willyafg Did you want one without the upgrade navigation or something? According to harley's website, MSRP is 21,699 for black, its 895 for the radio, freight is 435, and california emissions is 200. If you wanted RDRS thats another 995, and a color option is a 500 dollar premium as well. So you just add up the options you do or do not want, then its roughly 10 percent for tax and license.

I don't mean to sound like an ass, but I hope Nick doesn't take over doing the video, test rides. He's just a kid and not really a Harley expert. I know Matt is busy with sales management, and I can see him passing the torch to Nick to take some of the burden off. Still I'm a old head and I prefer Matt and his extensive knowledge about the brand.

My content has and always will be supplemental to Matt's, you don't have to worry about me taking over the channel. Matt can usually only edit one video a week, and I can usually only do 1 video every two weeks or so. But that will work out to about 20 extra videos for the channel over the course of the year, which if I dont make them they simply wouldn't get made at all. I know I'm no Matt, but Matt and I agreed it was better than not doing the video at all.

@@MattLaidlaw I agree with you. I know guys that dump tens and tens of thousands of dollars into a bike to look half as good as a CVO. Or you can get a CVO that's tricked out from the factory at more of a bargain comparatively.
