Nice video. I from Fairview. Lived here for 50+ years. The fishing in howth has changed dramatically since i was a young lad. I would almost always catch several a fish every time i went. Place was riddled with dogfish.
Yeah so I've lived Beside Howth for 30 years now. I've fished the Harbour about 20 times and I've caught maybe 10 Mackerel. You're best bet is to get the boat to Irelands eye and fish the beach, Balscaden is much better in the summer, the beach you said was lovely. if you followed the rocks up around 300 meters on the right there are lovely fish spots there. For the best part. Fishing in Dublin is average. I'd say if you get yourself out to the West of Ireland.
I’m from Dublin originally and have fished there, in Howth. numerous times . Most recently, two years ago, where I had 6 consecutive days of blanks…. Not even a touch, using a few methods
There's plenty of excellent fishing spots in Ireland. This is Howth harbour; it's known for being really shite. The back of Howth head has some decent pollock and wrasse fishing.
cool vid man nice to see you got a wrasse there and the lads are right, the mackerel fishing isn't what it used to be around there, that's not to say there isn't good fishing to be had in North Dublin ;)
Hey! Great to know you enjoyed the vid. I checked out & subed to your channel too so yes clearly there is good fishing to be had here! Keep up the good work, thanks for the support & keep an eye out for me at the local spots :) ✌️
Nice to see you enjoyed it despite the blank. Around Howth Harbour is pretty bad for fishing. There's still some good fishing spots around North Dublin. Oh yeah BTW, never mind the trolls in the comments. UA-cam isn't short on arseholes trying to give their 2 cents.
Nice work!! My brother and I have started an epic fishing adventure, following the River Ebro in Spain. We have been pulling some crazy amounts of Carp out so far. Pop over and have a look. Liked and subbed :)

Was at Balscaden this evening. place has gone down hill.. It's all immigrants there and they leave litter everywhere unfortunately

Yeah, why do you think that is ?
I suppose the fact that there are three or four resident seals in the harbor, could ba a factor.
Moving to Ireland in a few weeks and bitterly disappointed to see this is the type of fishing I’m in for 🤣🤣🤣
dont worry mate there'll be some really good fishing around here for you, goodluck!
What county?

Catch and Release Bro, you got it.
Get out of Dublin for some better sea fishing. Make a weekend of it and go to West Cork. Beautiful down there and lots more fish.
Nice one

Is there a legal size for wrasse in ireland? Can't find any online.
Yeah I looked it up on the day & it was either 20 or 30 cm
Can’t remember exactly
Any legal restrictions??
Just got to check & measure any thing you keep

Bro talking about the state of the fish population and wanted to eat a wrass that was smaller than 30cms 🙄
Howth is the worse fishing spot wasting your time
Guess I learnt the hard way 😂
You have absolutly no idea from living in the wild. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Probs not Feel free to give me some pointers , wheee could I improve, what would you have liked to have seen different ?
In the wild?🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It's a major suburban area at the edge of a major city, with all the expected amenities. WTF have you been smoking?
You shouldn't even have had the idea to take a juvenile fish
