Music Village of Bengal | Musical Instruments Making | Indian Classical Music

Kaahon team decided to visit the Dadpur village, a place that has skyrocketed and becomes India’s leading musical instrument exporter since the last few decades. The practice was started by the legendary maker Tarapada Halder, a native of this village, who started his own business in the area.
Now Dadpur boasts arguably the best string instruments and their makers in the world. We reached Tarapada Halder’s son through telephone and interviewed the established makes of the village in order to understand the current winds of the practice, and how it came to be what it is today.
