Intermittent fasting has helped me SO much with cutting out late night snacking. So happy I've found this tool! I don't eat past 8, and it's a hard rule for me. This mental switch combined with a satiating dinner has contributed to reaching my weightloss goals! Thanks Autumn, love your channel!
This is such a huge issue for me, this is where all my hard work usually go down the drain, I often feel like eating sweet stuff at night. Thank you for the education part. ❤

I learn so much when I watch your videos. I also appreciate that the video is short and direct, as I find I understand and retain more of the info that way. My current biggest struggle is that I hate to cook. I'd rather have a root canal without novocaine than to cook. I try to make myself, but I can only keep that up for so long. There are only so many things that require minimal prep/cooking and I find I eat less healthily because of it. Eating out daily is not an option. Do you have any suggestions for a person like me?
@@AutumnBates As for produce- we eat boring salads like spinach and some sort of keto dressing and a couple cherry tomatos, maybe a boiled egg, or prepared foods like frozen falafel, canned soups, frozen vegs (usually just broc, cauli, or brussels), or frozen entrees (try to get as healthy as possible, but none of them are really).
This is such a great breakdown to the big question I've been having for months: "Why do I feel stuffed but not fueled?" I've been struggling with what I think could be persistent low blood sugar. I'm a fairly athletic person and love being active, but in the last 6 months I've lost all of the fitness and strength I worked for years to get :( All because I stopped feeling fueled enough for my workouts no matter what I ate. I'm been trying to improve my eating patterns, but this issue hasn't gotten fixed yet. I do like how specific your tips are and I'm going to implement them. It's hard because there's SO much contradicting information out there. But you do have the degrees and experience so I'd say you're a much more reliable source :)
I'm new to healthy eating and every time I stray away, come back and listen to your video and I get motivated again 😉 thanks Autumn! Love your video ♥️
Thank you so much I definitely need more protein !! As I am recovering from a multiple sclerosis relapse Thank you so much for your educational videos love you to bits !

This is the video I needed to see so badly! I’m so confused by this not eating carbs and fats together situation. How far apart should they be? If I was to eat something like berries, sweet potato or brown rice (the main carbs I eat), should I be avoiding any fats so they are not stored?
I noticed that I feel like snacking when I have a high carb dinner. When I include nuts and seeds, I have a lesser urge to snacks. Except chocolates. 😍
Hi!! I have a playlist on bloating that you. Can check out here: ua-cam.com/play/PLamXkvGEvGD4TsT-xUZn7GBNk0WmnSQBt.html But I definitely want to make more of these in the future!
Not to advertise for another youtuber, but I found that the halo beauty vitamin and hair/skin/nails supplement has been hugely helpful for this issue! I guess a big part of what those vitamins do is help with inflammation- and it’s actually really helped me feel less bloated even when I’m not making the best choices...
Beans, Lentils, nuts, seeds, hummus, tahini, nut butter, ORGANIC soy milk, ORGANIC firm tofu (firm tofu has more protein than soft tofu), tempeh , nutritional yeast, high percentage of high quality dark chocolate, unsweetened plant-based yogurt, If you're fine with gluten, you could try "seitan" and Ezekiel bread; different types of mushroom( FYI:king oyster has meaty texture). Hope you give some of these a try and find ones you enjoy!:)
Great timing! I have been trying to monitor my protein intake to increase satiety. Would you be able to do a video on protein and fat portions in terms of actual foods? Thanks!
I am struggling with that protein math rn 😂. I weigh 191lbs.. divide that by 2.2 and got 86.8...so does that 86.8 the rough estimate of how much protein a day I should go for???? I am doing a weight loss thing, started to be all about eating healthier. I do love bulletproof coffee 😍.
That's to convert weight in pounds to kg. Then multiply weight in kg by 1.4 to get grams/day of protein (121g/day). 8:35 mark or so in the video. ONE way to estimate. I think .6 times weight in pounds gets one close (what I tend to use, although still challenged hitting that goal)
You’ve mentioned that starches and grains could have a major impact on the insulin.. I thought that grains and complexed carbs is the main carb source that were supposed to eat for that satiating feel. As it’s also a source of fibre-that doesn’t raise blood sugar levels that high.. I’m a little confused
Hi, I do a 18/6 fast really easy. I don’t want or miss food, however when I done fasting and eat, I always crave sweet things immediately after my meal, and just keep eating wrong foods. Eat a snack at the end of my 6 hour window and if fasting again. What am I doing wrong to crave sweet food for dessert and how can I stop it. IF to loose weight and hold off diabetics. Thanks for any help. Thanks and love your channel.
I had the same problem before i started IF a month ago. Of what i read until know about it, your insuline is to high. Eat slower or eat a salad/vegetable first . And your protein after, keep your insuline low. It helped with me. No cravings after 2 weeks to my suprise. It is going great, i hope keep on feeling this way. Have a long way to go
I eat way too little during the day but I’m not hungry during the day ugh. I need a reset 😩😩😩 I’m insulin resistant and autoimmune menopausal and diabetes with obesity ughhhhhh... I lost 100lbs before menopause butt gained 40 back and still eat low carb but starve at night
Stress removal is the worst :( Isn't it better to have a walk before eating though, rather than after? My relatives all go for a family walk after dinner and are in decent shape, but I am not at maintenance, I'm at Need To Lose haha.
Can you help me? I read if we eat our simple sugars with complex sugars. It helps the body to not have a huge glucose spike but you just said that’s not true😢please help.
Hi Autumn I know you always stress how bad protein bars really are and I have been noticing the ingredients in many I used to buy that are really not good.. but I love protein bars! So I’ve been trying to find brands that actually are healthy alternatives. Have you heard of or eaten the Kirkland signature protein bars from costco? It seems to me that they are the best Costco has to offer and I have really liked them. Just wondering what your thoughts are? Or if there are any brands for protein bars that you think are actually healthy?
Hello! You talk a lot about high levels of cortisol creating weight gain around the belly....but I tend to gain weight in hips and thighs. Can this be related to my specific body type - mesomorph? What are your thoughts on eating/working out with a focus on individual body type - mesomorph, ectomorph, endomorph???
I used to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks between meals and the snacks were within my diet so it wasn't "added" to my everyday daily calorie intake but then when I started IF I started eating breakfast lunch then a post workout snack (skipping dinner and one of my snacks but still the same amount of calorie intake because my meals became bigger) I was losing weight just fine however I'm not sure if it's fat loss and back then I didn't really understand much about insulin but now that I do I think it might be better following a three meal structure, however sometimes I feel like having some snacks probably due to the fact that I was already used to having snacks on a daily bases and I'm wondering if there is anything I can eat between meals that won't spike my insulin? or will my insulin spike and stop my body from using fats as energy every time I eat anything?
I was doing everything right then i just have these days where no matter how much i eat im so hungry i have to eat ready brek midnight and it shows on the scale 😭
Caffeine causes Cortisol to stay high, preventing fat usage, instead increasing Ghrelin, eventually making you binge eat. When you're Insulin resistant, caffeine can stay in your systems for up to 72 hours or more. I found this out the hard way. Thanks Dr Ken Berry.
I am currently on weight watchers and also doing intermittent fasting. I’m a little worried to let go of weight watchers and just do intermittent fasting with just healthy eating. WW keeps me in a certain amount of calories, but I feel like my body needs more fat because I am an endomorph (I believe) and I am having such a hard time understanding how much of each food group I need and how to not overeat. Also , I am a breast cancer survivor and need to take a daily maintenance pill that blocks estrogen which then in turn is making me insulin resistant, I believe. Can you please help me understand what I need to do. I love your protein shakes and coffees, but on WW they are so high in points that I cant really fit them into my points system everyday. TIA
So weird.. I was just telling my husband that late last night I woke up hungry and wanted to snack on something. Then this video pops up. Like did my phone hear me? Lol... anyways I ended up eating a couple of peanuts.
The quality of the carbohydrate used at dinner time is one of the main concerns when incorporating carbohydrates at dinner. For example, butternut squash or lentils will have a much different response on blood glucose levels and insulin vs. refined breads and pasta. This will also depend on the individual's carbohydrate sensitivity, which is something I break down and adjust for in the Advanced Weight Loss Protocols in the Bundle.
I gained weight doing IF and making sure I am satiated during eating window like she is suggesting . It’s wrong. IF is good, but eating until satiated will lead to weight gain.
It depends on what the meals consist of. I recommend you check out my videos and playlist on weight loss mistakes that cover the physiology behind weight loss/gain.
Autumn Bates also you have to consider the age. I am over 40, 4’11, 115lb. if I eat until I satiated all wholesome food, no grains, no carbs, I’ll be gaining 2-3lb per day. Yes, when you’re in your 20ss, 30ss, you might get away with eating until satiated , but not later on. Gotta think about all different age categories of your audience

Hi, you cannot have keto coffee while fasting. It would have to be black coffee or I know some say you could do a small amount of stevia.
Thanks 😊
Thank you for the lesson, Autumn. As a vegan, I find it very hard getting non processed protein food. What can you recommend to eat instead?
there are so many non processed, plant based protein sources out there like chickpeas, beans, tofu, lentils and many more.
haengbokayy Tofu is not a natural food and is heavily processed, just like all other soy products... beans and nuts are decent though.
Lentils and beans are certainly some of your best bets! Others include various nuts and seeds such as hemp seeds (which I love using in my smoothies!)
