I love how they give Sonic all these crazy powers when he’s the boss

Blaze: Pillars, Mid-Air Spinning Vortex Attack, and runs faster during the final phase
Israel Battle I mean the mid air spin attack could’ve just been a variation of the Homing attack but I get where ur going
Yeah, wonder why during the boost era, most games, (including fan games), have Sonic not use any of these cool extra Wind powers? Not even in 06 did he do all of this. Sonic wind is an example of a move forgotten, (Sonic’s Chaos Spear).

I always had more trouble with Sonic than Blaze. Those tornadoes kept screwing me over.
also when it comes to the button mashing part since sonic is faster you have hit the buttons faster I know because I can beat blaze but not sonic

Because Sega reduced his powers to boost and homing attack, which further made people think he’s just Shadow or Knuckles but without other special abilities, which is in fact completely false.

There is no reason the duel with SONIC should have been this difficult. And yet, it feels so right.

Well. Robotnik have mastered creation of space bases, and he can just trick with gravity.

The music for this stage really could've worked for Sonic's stages as well.
I really love it in games when you can fight the protagonist. But in Sonic Rush, they straight up said "Fight BOTH!"

I love how when the gravity changes, the music slightly changes, becoming more reverberated and loosing its slight snares.
This is one of my favorite battle in the series
I like to see this battle as a recreation of Silver Sonic battle back in Sonic 2. But instead of a mechanical doppelganger that moves side to side, sometimes jumping in the process and his special skill of throwing quills, instead we have a dude that moves throws the spin dash directly to you, when jumps does the homing attack and his special is creating tornados and has Boost.
Dude when I played rush I used to always repeat this boss fight. Mainly because I loved the clash at the end. I'd always let the cpu get close to winning before going all out button mashing.
I bet that this particular zone is where Toys for Bob got the idea of the gravity mask Ika-Ika in Crash Bandicoot 4 It's About Time.

What emulator do you use where you're able to play it on one screen? There isn't an option for it in the game itself and DeSmuME only allows a split screen like the original DS unless I'm missing something

I think Blaze technically wins this one, but it was most likely a draw. I imagine their boost clash at the end leaving them both tired out, with neither of them having been pushed off.
Probably Sonic, unfortunately. It's unfortunate because I like Blaze more than Sonic.

You’d be shocked to learn blaze beating sonic is the canon part
Not shocking considering this is her debut game. Sonic wouldn't know her skillset just yet, and Blaze was the one who initiated the fight and was more adament on beating sonic to a pulp.
Blaze beating sonic is my headcanon for rush, and Shadow beating sonic in SA2 is also headcanon. Simple explanation, Blaze had more dialogue than Sonic and the events that took place in the last story of SA2 could only be made possible if Shadow won.
