I think it’s important to remember that all the celebs using this, also take part in many other skin care procedures, like Botox, chemical peels, facials, and even more. None of them can honestly claim their results are from La Mer.

I have been a skincare junkie for over 20 years now and have tried them all. I was devoted to La Mer from my mid-20s to early 30s and then did a bunch of research and decided to try some of the similar formulas (ie German Nivea, etc.). I’ve since tried a whole bunch of creams from high to low, Korean ingredients to other brands with crazy claims. I’ve recently began dabbling in la mer again occasionally, now that I’m 40, and I really do notice a difference in my skin when I use it. I’m almost disappointed to have observed that, but FOR ME it is true. I do find the original crème de la mer to be the hero product of the line, and I also swear by the lip balm.

I remember when La Mer came on the market back in the early 90s. I have oily skin, so I wasn’t interested. But, my dry skin friend was obsessed with purchasing a jar, so we went to Saks for her to purchase it. I remember the counter person was friendly and gave me a few sample packets. It felt luxurious - but that may have been the psychological side effect of using an expensive product 😂

I got several mini jars of La Mer original cream from the kind lady seller at the Munich airport Duty-free when I was purchasing some other skincare brand. I asked her if she would give me a few La Mer samples as I wanted to check all the hype, and she gave away more than a few :) It was winter, and the cream was soothing and moisturizing, Little goes along the way, and I still have some little samples left. Fresh, Ole Henriksen, It Cosmetics, and even cheapies like Cera Ve and Olay are far better. I know you like Avon and their Daily Multipurpose cream is far superior, one of my all time favorites, better than the A New line imo. Don't believe the La Mer hype.

I had LaMer gifted to me and I used it while it lasted in a jar. It is very similar to Nivea. The packaging is very basic too- I really do not get the allure of it. It does not look like 1k cream on my bathroom counter either. It is just a basic white jar. It is honestly an embarrassment for the money that they are asking for it. La Prairie has better presentation. Nivea original cream is the all-time winner for me. As much as I hate to go down the Rabbit Hole: When you see some of these celebrities who are pushing 80 and don't have one single wrinkle in their face.....kinda makes you wonder what is actually in or behind some of the super high end stuff they use.... Is it a coincidence there were so many early/mid-century Hollywood films (say 1930s-1960s) which depicted "strange experiments" used to return older characters to full youth and beauty.....?????😬😯🧐

last years i gave it a shot again and started with a small pot.
