- This Emirates Airbus A380 had to abort the landing and go around at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport on November 04, 2015. It landed approx. ten minutes later.

Man, those 4 Rolls Royce engines came to life in the blink of a second.
Those are the Engine Alliance GP7000 engines. You can tell by the Pratt & Whitney-style fan, spinner, and engine cowling.

The pilot is amazing as he/she can even "feel" that not all whells are on the ground, not enought frickshon , so not enough space on the run-way for a safe stop. Better to be safe then sorry - and take off means no harm to anyone.

I had this happen to me when i was flying Emirates to Bangkok last second the plane took off again after the wheels had touched the ground.
Wont lie it was a bit scarry but the plane is perfectley designed for these minute errors and the pilot was verry proffesional and alerted everybody on why he had to abort the landing .
First thing you think is is there something wrong in the cockpit but it was all due to the winds .

+Aviation Spotting Frankfurt Vielen Dank! Das dürfte in diesem Fall nicht geplant gewesen sein. Der hat reichlich spät aufgesetzt. Von dem Punkt, wo der mit dem Hauptfahrwerk aufsetzt, sind es nur noch 1600 Meter bis zum Bahnende. Da hat man dann wohl lieber eine Extrarunde gedreht.

Just too far down the runway. Increase in windspeed could've put it off even. Happens more often than you think, he took the safe option of go around.

+SKBenergy Thanks for watching! They had a slight tailwind component during the approach. The aircraft touched down well beyond the normal touchdown point with only one mile of runway left in front of them. I think that's the reason why they decided to go around.

+Dennis Movieplanespotting Du meinst die A380 für Transaero? Ich weiß gar nicht, wie weit die schon gebaut waren. Aber die A380, die damals für Skymark gebaut wurden, stehen ja seitdem die Bestellung storniert wurde, auch in Toulouse rum. Wird mit dem, was für Transaero schon fertig war, dann wohl auch passieren.
Sehr sinnig oder TK wird noch anbeißen.
