    Nice video
Be good to see you out on the road again, perhaps on the celebratory ride back from the MOT testing centre!
    All the best

Thanks for your comments Nick. I am acutely aware that my videos of late have been garage based and it had crossed my mind that a video out on the road would be great. I do have some better sound recording equipment that I invested in over lockdown and it would be nice to try it.
Let’s see what I can do.
      Best regards

Hi, what torque did you use for the vaiator nut? I saw you mentioned 49nm for the clutch ,but you didn't say what it was for the variator?

Hello sir nice video congrats. One question, about the torques, for the clutch did you use 49Nm, and what about the variator (I see one comment in another video they use 108Nm), that's enough?

How much torque did you use on the clutch or you just use the impact tool?

thanks for the video, very interesting. My scooter has an oil leak from the two transmission oil seals. To remove them, do I also have to remove the shafts or is it enough to remove them by screwing self-tapping screws into the plastic of the oil seal? thanks stefan

    Hi,
Loving the videos on your channel I have found them really helpful, especially the vision ones.
Please can you tell me why slider weights make a difference?
    Thank you
    Paul

    • @scootyman2974
      @scootyman2974  2 роки тому +2

      Hi BH,
Thanks for your comments. The weights make a difference as they affect the rate at which the gearbox changes up to a higher ratio. It’s a bit like an automatic box either changing up earlier or later however, the weight can also affect top speed and acceleration too. For an example, I am 115 kgs so quite heavy. I use a lighter weight because I want to hold the lower ratio for slightly longer to help get up hills better. If I fitted a heavier weight, the centrifugal force would make the heavier weights change to a higher ratio earlier as they push against the variator plates. They are pushed outwards and up into the ramps, expanding the variator and pushing the belt up higher which increases the gear ratio.
I have settled for a top speed of around 60-63mph on the Rev limiter but have usable power up hills due to the lower ratio.
The other problem can be that too high a ratio and a small engine cannot pull due to lack of power. Lighter weights then?
      Hope that helps
      Simon

Great video, thank you! You mention your own 110, have you done a fair few miles on yours? Curious because you sound as though you've changed those belts a fair few times! :)

Thanks for your comments. I have covered 23,000 miles on my Vision now and 13,000 miles on the previous one before it was written off in a rear end shunt! I buy the belts abroad and change around every 10,000 miles. It’s not really necessary to change at this mileage but I live in a small village out in the sticks and change early to eliminate any chance of a breakdown. I’ve never had a belt go on one of these mind.
Hope that helps and best regards

      Good evening,
I use a Motul brand oil which is actually equivalent to a 10w30 called Motul TransOil.
The oil doesn’t really get dirty so I tend to change mine every 8,000 miles but you will need to check the handbook for the recommended interval.
      Best regards
