  • The Gravement is a grand contrapuntal non-fugal work. Bach scholar Peter Williams references Boyvin's Livre d'Orgue and notes the ornamentation ala a French grave, but notes that it cannot be said that this is a French work written for a French organ. Rather, it is an alla breve in improvisatory style. Additional ornaments belong to Dr. Faythe Freese and me. This was recorded while I was still in physical therapy for a right shoulder injury I cannot reach the extremes of the keyboard, so had to compensate by leaning. I hope you enjoy it, anyway.
