You can only use the word "version" for international covers sung in a different language (not the original language) and in your case, German. Or else, it is similar to how you say "French version of La Vie en Rose", "Scottish version of Auld Lang Syne", or "Italian version of Mambo Italiano", or "English version of Let It Go from Frozen", etc. I guess that English is definitely not your first language so I don't want to sound like a jerk but it just sounds somewhat wrong in the English context. 😂 And yes, they're still traditional and supposed to sound the same.
