No disagreement there. Some of the best folk the world over should accompany it...and Bach, lot's of Bach (to quote I can't remember who). The best of all genres should be included, except maybe rap (the disgusting stuff, anyway).

I love the beauty of the music that this group puts out. I used to play some of their songs to my son when he was a baby!
I actually almost only listen to folk/choral/classical music, and metal is the only popular modern genre I can stand. A lot of modern music is kind of wishy washy and doesn't cover any serious topics or emotions, but a lot of metal has the same kind of gravity and depth of feeling that church music and traditional folk music have
I have listened to this song for tens of times during the last few days and it literally makes me cry every single time. What an emotion, what an incredible arrangement, how beautifully sung! Still wondering how is it possible to sing this without bursting into tears. By far the best rendition of this Irish folk song. Ever.

This song is so damn good. Every time I hear it I'm transported to a place much like what is depicted in this video (first time seeing the video though). Something about the sound and feel just brings me back to a simpler time before my existence and it's so relaxing and free.

Never disappointed, but GOOD GRIEF, I kid you not, chill bumps arms AND legs at that opening. That is power, my lady. :-) I love the 'simple', not overly adorned aspect you brought to this piece. I've heard many not so simple that were good, but this is exceptional, at least to my experience.

Haigh a chairde. :) So this is of the wild geese ; after the battle of Aughrim and victory to the protestant King William of Orange , came the flight of the wild geese as the defeated army of King James II fled to France ; one of the verses missing here is 'and now my love has gone to France, to try his fortune to advance, if we meet again twill be a chance'. The Flight of the Wild Geese was the departure of an Irish Jacobite army under the command of Patrick Sarsfield from Ireland to France, as agreed in the Treaty of Limerick on 3 October 1691, following the end of the Williamite War in Ireland. More broadly, the term Wild Geese is used in Irish history to refer to Irish soldiers who left to serve in continental European armies in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. It is a common theme for these types of songs to include a soldier and his love ; the hidden meaning is missing so the English didnt know what the song was about - also very common. This song is in the macaronic stylel - of mixed languages: Gaelige and English. The origins of this beautiful and haunting song are unknown. GRMA go raibh míle maith agaibh.

I strongly think that this is one of the song that must be kept in a starship and sent to the universe
