Thank you! I honestly don’t know what it was that we heard. Something was making a crazy noise. Had both of us puzzled.

If you spook one with conibears, switch up to footholds (where it's practical), or if they're real smart snares work great. Nice job 👍

Most definitely. I haven’t had to branch out to footholds yet, I’m pretty successful with conibears still. I mainly trap lodges and bank dens with the occasional dam break set. But if I ever need to I have a bunch of footholds and snares I can use. Thanks for watching!

@@TheHuntForDinner right on, I have a bunch of 330's and 280's, but I take most of my beavers in #3-#4 footholds, if I have reason to believe there's some big blankets I set ts-85's

If I get a chance this year to get out as much as I want to I’ll more than likely be setting some footholds on a few spots. I found quite a few crossovers I could set but work and life always dictate how much I get out lol

@@TheHuntForDinner I hear that, fortunately I'm able to hit alot of spots going to and from work. I've tried conibears around here quite a bit, but the beaver don't seem to refuse a foothold set as often. I set small conibears for mink and rats, and it works fine, and for marten sets, but the beaver in my area are sharp.

Beaver sure do get smart quick. Mink and muskrat are ones I want to go after more this year too. I like eating muskrat if it’s prepared correctly. If not then it’s not so good!

I've probably watched each of your beaver trapping videos like 3 times over now lol just learning a lot from your vids and looking forward to getting trapping soon too beaver is going to be one of my first target species since its pretty much the only thing still in season here for us right now until May 31st. Keep up the great content man. BTW you got instagram we could connect on?

Lol thanks I hope they help you out! You’ll enjoy trapping I can almost guarantee it. Beaver is fun to catch and if cooked right it’s some of the best wild game meat out there. I do have an Instagram too, there should be a link to it in the video description. If not search hunt4dinner

Nice trapping, what does the beaver eat when you put the trap for them?, sorry for the silly questions. Sounds great feeding for your friends, family and your dogs, must be so cold making these video, great video by the way.

No question is a silly question, that’s how we learn and grow! They eat the sugary layer of wood right below the bark which is called the cambium. It holds the most nutrients for them. And yes it was very cold on this trip! I’m glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
