I couldn’t agree with you more man and I can’t believe I’m going to say this but after watching this shit, I honestly think we all owe Space Jam 2: A New Legacy an apology
The pure raw anger you had during the Peter Pan segment was amazing. You read your lines so well. I felt like a killjoy for not being interested in this film when all my friends were raving about it and after watching this I feel way more confident in my opinion.
38:19 Additional criticism on that point: _Disney _*_literally_*_ owns the Muppets! They could've _*_easily_*_ gotten an actual Muppet to play this character!_
Puppeteers are protected by union laws and regulations, and Disney doesn't want to inconvenience themselves by paying their workers well and not working them to the bone.
I’d wonder if there’s something in the Muppets contract where they had to consult with the Jim Henson Company to use them for this type of thing. I could be wrong but I think they had to consult with them in order to have an agreement on firing Steve Whitmire (Kermit) and soft block Frank Oz.
@@yeeyeeyeeyeto be honest, that might be the reason they didn't use a real puppet. Because they can just make the CGI workers crunching for low pay instead of paying one puppeteer a fair wage for a day
Yeah, the saddest and darkness of Bobby Driscoll life. 😢 So Disney is getting karma for ruining child actors' careers on normal life or end up being pour and homeless.
To add to the whole Peter Pan thing, I don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard rumors that the villain was originally gonna be Charlie Brown, whose original VA, Peter Robbins, had it just as bad if not worse than Bobby Driscoll.
Stranger still Daniel is anothet rumour 2 years ago i swear i saw is Pluto for a villain choice but test audiences rejected it and they rushed in Peter Pan for a hasty rewrite
Honestly I've felt sick about Bobby's backstory,it's extremely unfair how Disney back in 50s threw him away immediately when they had the occasion ruining his life and now in 2022 they villanize him like to make fun of him. But hey it's Hollywood who often (Not always!) sacrifices quality and artistic value just for extra bucks
If they really felt it was completely necessary to include Peter Pan as a stand-in for child actors, why not make him an ally of Chip and Dale? Have it where Peter Pan being a 2D character couldn't find work anymore after the shift to 3D characters and had to start taking odd jobs just to get by, and one of these jobs was for Pluto who became a mob boss which Peter finds out about. At first, he tries to just keep his head down and not cause trouble but after meeting Chip and Dale, Peter's conscience gets the better of him and he teams up with the chipmunks to stop Pluto.
What's so scary about Bobby's story is that Disney and others still do this sh*t to this day, Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus are great examples, to no fault of their own their nudes were leaked when they were still teens by some absolute creeps who stalked them, and the moment Disney could no longer advertise them as this sweet and innocent cute girly girls they dropped them like a hot potato. It is horrifying how many Disney starlets instantly develop psychological/ addiction issues, and I believe there is absolutely a reason for that. The fact they even dared to touch Bobby's story, knowing that they are still doing the same damn thing to this day is downright vile. This reached "magic kingdom" can't crumble soon enough.
About all of the animations style. They should have taken notes from The Amazing World of Gumball that looks way more like a love letter to animations.
"Let's not kid ourselves, we ALL know where this is going." *Pushes button to set off nuke in the background.* Yeah, Gumball is creative and pretty good, but not perfect.
@@hariman7727 Yeah it's not perfect. But it is atleast way more creative. They are able to blend so many animation style and even live action at one point. And they don't have those weird moment were people just make fun of the animation.
One error I see no one ever mention is something that also shows that the writters never even saw rescue rangers. In the scene where they show a "clip of the rescue rangers show" they hurt Dale so little birds swirl around his head and they use that to distract the villain. Yeah at first you would think simple cartoon logic... the thing though is, rescue rangers NEVER used this sort of cartoon logic, this is more something in looney tunes while rescue rangers, even with it's talking animals, was still a very grounded show. Human saw animals as regular animals, when you fall down you get hurt. The distract villain with damage birdies does not work with show ccause it was never this kind of show. It's like you would have a enomorph randomly appear at bobs burgers show and have him order something, it's not this kind of show, which in my eyes is just even more proof how little respect this movie actually has for animation.
Wow, I didn't know, I never saw Rescue Rangers, the only series I remember is Ducktales (1987) since I remember I saw some episodes but it wasn't my type of series that I like, on the other hand in Roger Rabbit at least they were characters originals and it was more justified (even Roger Rabbit was set in the golden age of animation which made even more sense since even Disney used slapstick in their animated shorts).
Not only that, Chip claims they used to hit Dale on the head "every week," implying that _every_ episode ended that way. When not only did no gags even similar to that show up, there was no single ending gag.
I grew up with the Chip & Dale: Rescue Ranger cartoon, as well with other shows from the Disney Afternoon block such as Gummi Bears, DuckTales, TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck, and I personally hated this film. It combines everything I dislike about the modern film industry. It is once again a reboot, that takes advantage of an old property and changes everything about it, which tells me that they just want to bait older fans with nostalgia. Plus, it relies on, like many other modern animated films/shows, way too much on either cynicism, meta-humour, or internet culture. Let's be honest here, people talk way more about Ugly Sonic being in this film, than Gadget, Monterey Jack, and Zipper. The only reason this film gets so much praise has mostly to do with that the expectation for films have sunken so slow that if it doesn't turn out to be a complete disaster, it can be considered good.
I don't mind good reboots tho, but they have to obtain their own personalities instead of being just some cash grab. 2017 Ducktales can be a example of a well executed reboot, it has the same spirit of the original series but is set in modern days and also is a huge improvement in writing and pacing
@@Nonjola As a European I have enjoyed it honestly, the only gripe I have with it is a bit the artstyle but I didn't find huge problems. I think it's a enjoyable reboot
It sucks that this movie made me appreciate Monkeybone. That movie might not have been all that good, but at least that movie was able to actually use different styles of animation like 2D and stop-motion.
Yeah, the Bobby Driscal paraells is what turned me off the movie entirely. The fact theycdid him so dirty then shat all over Peter Pan, one of my favourite early Disney films just sealed my dislike for the film.
I feel your anger, Manga. I still enjoy Treasure Island and both Peter Pan movies, and Driscoll had so much potential. When I heard about Pan being the villain, the point by point references to Driscoll himself and what happened to him, I felt sick to my stomach and even more so that it was in this movie. All curiosity shattered. Any plans I had for watching any future Disney movies and shows burned and still burning in the dumpster out back. I made an exception with Encanto, and I will make exceptions if the movies are done well. But I will never, ever, endorse this movie, not even to hate watch it.
Copyright claims usually try to prevent crap like this from being made. I think I can honestly say this is the worst movie I've ever seen. Not only because it was bad, but because it was WRONG. I always thought Disney at least tried to respect their IP's but it's like they dug up any dead IP, murdered any living one, and posted each of their bodies on a corkboard for recognition points. Absolutely disgusting. I have no idea why people actually like this movie, I genuinely cannot comprehend it. Even the live action lady was a horrible actress. I couldn't bear it.
What kills me is people saying that when they made the film the people doing it were not informed of the life of Bobby Driscoll, despite the article I don't think so, what I believe is that they believed that on the contrary the majority of the public would not be aware, and those who were would be in their line of humor, like dude,of course they knew, he is the actor and original voice of their villain, living a life parallel to Bobby's, relating it to the issue of drugs, and in a film made by the same company, it is wanting to be blind to say that. I don't believe in the words of the film's creators either, giving another explanation doesn't make it more credible on the spot, for me Is not, too many coincidences around a single character. And it bothers me that Disney got away with it and people believe their excuse, it's absurd.
The difference between this movie and Sonic Boom is that 1: Sonic Boom is genuinely funny 2: Their jokes are tasteful 3: They aren't making light of a tragedy of an actor's life. 4: The Meta Jokes are actually funny and range from the subtle but noticable (Sonic saying he's Roger because his VA is Roger Craig Smith), to the very noticable. 5: They don't just rely upon Meta Jokes,
Not to mention that the meta commentary is usually pretty on point and never lasts too long. They make exactly one joke about the color of Sonic's arms being changed and it's literally just a single line they move on from.
This movie is such a disgrace that I prefer to stick to the good old stuff & well-written fanfics, rather than blindly liking the soulless, rotten and empty garbage these guys are making. As an animation fan myself, this piece of junk is one of the signs how horrible the movie & art industry have become, because of the bad people in charge of that.
New properties do very well too. If you're at all interested in anime, I recommend Mashle: Muscles and Magic. It's what you'd get if Saitama of One Punch Man went to Hogwarts. Mashle is a lot of fun, and if you know anime, it references other anime in certain scenes, but by using the inspiration to do something new.
I was a hard-core Chip n Dale rescue rangers fan. Words can’t describe my absolute disappointment in this film. I mean, I knew from the get-go it wasn’t gonna be what I thought it was. But boy God, was it worse. This was clearly a completely different movie that was using the rescue Rangers name to sell it. it has a little to nothing to do with the rescue rangers. Aside from Chip and Dale, the other Rangers are treated extremely poorly. it has an overuse of references and the comedy is just plain flat. And what they did to Gadget Hackwrench, the most popular rescue ranger of all was downright stupid and disrespectful. so glad somebody had to say something about how bad this movie was. Thank you!
31:07 Ok you can't tell me that isn't Bobby. Even though the character is based off him, the design is still distinct enough to stand as its own entity. But THAT, is straight up a caricaturized version of Bobby. It does not look like Peter Pan, they are actively trying to make "Sweet Pete" here look like the real Bobby Driscoll.
Disney is no longer the movie brand it once was. They’re now a quantity over quality brand. Walt would be rolling in his grave if he saw what his beloved company has turned into, and he’d be disappointed in Mickey for going along with all of it.
Literally, Disney became a horrible company that, as you say, now only makes productions based on quantity and not quality, even to achieve something almost impossible like being one of the big five, they themselves ruin it by creating poor productions just for the sole reason. reason for making double money, a huge shame for Walt Disney, his company finally reached the top only to become a soulless megamonopoly.
I don't believe for a second that the creators didn't know about Bobby. For a company so paranaoid about controlling their self-image as Disney, they mean to tell me that nobody who worked on this movie, not one of the employes of the Disney studio made the connection? Shame on all of them for even thinking this was a good idea!
Great video Jack, the way you delivered your lines and pacing of your video not only made for a very entertaining video but a very emotional one too. Keep up the fantastic work dude!! Also fun fact: the original playwright of Peter Pan stated that whenever the play was performed, Peter must always be played by a woman because he wanted to avoid what happened with Bobby
I’ve been looking for someone else that hated this movie as much as I did. I’m so happy! It really is one of the worst pictures ever made. It’s my North. It’s unbelievably awkward and cringe. I couldn’t stand it. Thank you for this!
Everyone talks about Ugly Sonic, but I personally hated that scene (and his inclusion in general) with a passion. For context, in 2020, the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie became the highest grossing superhero movie of the year, beating Marvel's 10-year box office streak. With that in hindsight, it felt like Disney was trying to belittle the movie's deserved success by going, "Oh, remember that terrible original design?" It genuinely came across as mean-spirited and bordering on bullying. Also the Bobby Driscoll stuff was revolting. His life was ruined because of YOU, Disney, and it's not something to joke about or make half-assed commentary about how Hollywood treats child stars (THAT YOU PARTICIPATE IN ON THE REGULAR DISNEY). Edit in December 2024: This is what makes Sonic 3 beating Disney now so satisfying in hindsight. Disney are absolute cowards.
I didn't know that Sonic surpassed Marvel at the box office, and the funniest thing is that he deserves it, the Sonic movie saga improves a lot with each installment and now I'm still waiting for the release of his third movie.
Technically that makes Disney too crybaby and envious that the competition (Paramount) surpassed it at the box office and that its only revenge is by mocking the competition in the same film that defames a victim of its own company, we all know why this It's terrible in the first place.
I think multimedia IP crossover type movies by this point have really overstayed their welcome; the only time I think it's ever worked was with Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Wreck it Ralph (The original not the sequel), and The Lego Movie; mainly because those movies actually had passion put into them. Everything else? Ha fuck no! Movies like The Emoji Movie, Ready Player One, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and yes Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers only just serve to make a quick buck and nothing else.
not often i see someone agree with me on so many fronts, the worst part is the real reason gadget and zipper were gone the whole movie was just for the joke that zipper is voiced by the allstate guy
I'd rather have Ugly Sonic appear in a legitimate Sonic movie than a lowbrow Disney movie. Like maybe in a future movie, Sonic could travel to another dimension and catch sight of Ugly Sonic (reactions would vary from intial disgust to "hey, you're not bad after all"). Also, I've seen just how many people talk about Chip n' Dale...because of Ugly Sonic. And though I'd normally be happy to see Ugly Sonic in a major role, it doesn't do much except show that Disney generally lacks creativity. The fact that they had to rely on cameos just to make the movie more popular already doesn't help. Also, the whole thing with Bobby Driscoll needs to be talked about a lot more. And yup, regardless of whether or not the parallels of Sweet Pete's backstory were intentional, the movie still trivialises what child actors go through and it's kinda awful that they don't attempt to make Sweet Pete more sympathetic. It would've been great to have a commentary on how film industries treat child actors, but nope. Sweet Pete still remains two dimensional. Even when you remove the backstory, he still is a generic villain with no depth. He's just a guy who's "evil for the sake of evil" (and yes, there are examples where you can play this trope successfully, but Sweet Pete is not one). The whole movie feels like a poorly-written fanfic as opposed to a legitimate film or a meta-commentary. Despite the movie being called Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers, it's anything but a Chip n Dale movie (besides the characters appearing). And it feels like ever since the success of No Way Home, Disney got so overconfident that they assume people would eat shit up just because it's a massive crossover with tons of cameos.
It’s a fanfic that tries really hard to be “self aware” without fully committing to the genuine self reflection and desire to do better that comes along with it, it thinks it can absolve itself with lazy writing and shameless pandering by pointing at it, staring at the audience, winking, and than exclaiming “that sure was dumb wasn’t it?”. They would come off much more honest if they just played the movie straight without feeling the need to do half assed commentary.
I agree with your video btw Writer. Anyways, I believe the film explained that there's multiple versions of the same animated characters roaming around. As Ugly Sonic explains that there is another Sonic, so that could explain why Peter was younger in Return to Netherlands? There's two Peters probably I don't know. Although it leads to more questions that if the Chip and Dale in this movie are different versions as they existed prior Rescue Rangers.
If by "explains" you mean "does not explain at all" then, yes. The fact that there's another Sonic is a huge plot hole; as big as the lost boy not aging, or Peter aging... depending on how you look at it. Also, if we ignore that Sonic should have just gotten a CGI face lift, instead of replaced; the "Ugly Sonic" version was also clearly going fast in the trailers and breaking the sound barrier, and causing the blackout and stuff. This movie makes no sense.
Let me tell you something about the director, Akiva Schaffer. Hot Rod. Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Ever seen those movies? I've seen some of his work and he has a knack to make things worse on purpose. It worked for Popstar and it definitely worked for Hot Rod. On an interview, Akiva said that he took the script of Hot Rod and shat on it hard! Literally, he said something like that on behind the scenes special features. He knew the story is borderline ridiculous and it worked for him! I don't know why the *FUCK* the producers allowed Akiva to work on this garbage. I feel like the Pluto villain twist was actually going to be in, but Akiva being Akiva took a shit on the script and added Pan. I'd like to think he wanted to trash all of Disney at the last minute before collecting his paycheck because he hated the Disney company. That's what I'd like to think anyway, but I don't know, I am not in the industry. What they did to animation, to the characters, to Bobby; is unforgivable. Makes most, MOST, not all; fan fiction on the internet look like The Library of Congress. What a shame, Akiva. You are far better off doing something original. Bobby deserves the ultimate tribute. He has brought so much joy in such a short time of his life. Rest peacefully, Mr. Driscoll.
I saw this when it came out and haaaaaaated it. It just felt...gross and disrespectful on a lot of different levels. But I kept seeing comments/videos that were positive. The Peter Pan bit was 1000% in bad taste. Whoever wrote that, and anyone that agreed to it should take a good long look at themselves. If they didn't look into the actor's history, that's unfortunate but not an excuse. But I don't think that's the case. And just because someone says something is satire, or shedding light on a problem, or whatever the hell they choose to say...it doesn't really matter if it's done incorrectly. Gee, it almost seems like instead of shedding light on problems that child actors face, it was a big middle finger and shifting blame to the actors instead of Disney.
Honestly, I always wondered what the world would be like if animation was alive, ever since Who Framed Roger Rabbit. So that's why I got so excited to watch this movie when I saw it playing in a friend's house. I barely remember any of it, and I was kinda disappointed to. I like some concepts of it (like becoming 3d is surgery, or the putty detective being able to use his shape to his advantage) but then it ends up not making any sense. (What's with the 2d animations then?? Are they flat as paper? Nope, 3d but with a art style)
I want to thank you for recording this video because it speaks my exact feelings regarding this disgusting movie. As both an animator and a former Disney employee (that was sheer hell being with them), I had already been disgusted with the direction The New Disney had been going for a long time. I grew up with Disney during the seventies, for which I am grateful, and ever since the Eisner takeover I had watched the company both inside and out mutate into Walt's worst nightmare, the very disaster we have today he had always been trying to avoid. I was already pretty much all but completely given up in my disgust, but then when I saw the TV commercial in Disney's break room for this thing and saw what they had done to poor Bobby Driscoll, I was fit to be tied, and it takes a *lot* to get me that angry. That was the point I threw up my hands with "ENOUGH!" and completely gave up all hope of Disney ever being fixed and put back on the right path. I *might* have been able to semi-tolerate this movie without the whole Peter Pan thing. However... What this film does is PUBLICLY MOCK BOBBY DRISCOLL'S SITUATION IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE PLANET! IT DRAGS HIM THROUGH THE MUD FOR ALL TO SEE AND EXPECTS US ALL TO LAUGH AT WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM! 😡 I have NEVER, EVER had an animated film offend me to the point that this one does, especially since it exposes its creators as vile, selfish, merciless, cruel, sadistic human beings. This movie's entire Pan concept upsets me so badly that when I pulled up your video (no offense) I had to merely listen to it without looking at it, as I do all I can to blot those creepy images of Peter Pan in this movie out of my mind and intend to keep them out at all costs. I know that just one small accidental glimpse of the whole idea will upset me all over again. You did a wonderful job reporting on it, and I share your outrage and passion for telling everyone about it. By the way, I should probably mention one detail - I'm sure you've probably heard this already, but I'm mentioning it anyway for completeness - I've heard that Walt and company are apparently not really the ones fully responsible for what happened to Bobby. It happened right after Howard Hughes had taken over RSO, in effect making him the overhead boss. Hughes, who we all know was both a jerk and a mental case, had an unexplainable and intense personal hatred for child actors. For no apparent reason, he simply believed they were all arrogant and spoiled, and he hated them. And so he personally got rid of Bobby for absolutely no apparent reason other than the fact that he existed and was a child actor. In either case, it's absolutely inexcusable for Disney to attempt getting laughs at Bobby's expense, and Disney fans everywhere are furious at them for pulling it. For me, it was the absolute last straw. I will always love Walt's original Peter Pan, it was always my biggest favourite Disney movie of all time ever since I could barely walk, and I will always be very much in admiration of Bobby's contribution and his creating the definitive and most beloved Peter Pan. R.I.P., Bobby. 😢
I don't get it. I want to watch the movie so much but when I heard it's hated I feel I don't wanna watch it. I didn't know the Disney film industry is that bad. I love some remakes that stay true to the old source like ducktales 2017, and others. I guess I shouldn't watch the movie. I just want to watch the movie only because I like the action sequences and some characters.
You shouldn't let the opinions of others affect your desire to watch the film. Everyone has their own opinion, one may like something that is panned across the board, and another can hate something that is adored by everyone. Just because some content creators say something is bad doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it, who knows that thing could be something you genuinely enjoy
@Sergeantmajormario Normally, I would agree, but I believe people are morally obligated to not support this immortal insulting trash because of the messed up implications of the villain.
My mom had saw a trailer of the movie, and she asked if I wanted to see the movie with her and I couldn’t be glader that I said no. I don’t even think she watched it herself. Probably forgot about it for the better. I thought that it was going to be one of those same reboots we’ve been getting that all they do is appeal to nostalgia freaks like me, while at the same times try to be woke, progressive, self aware, etc, and pretty much just derive it of all the soul that made its origins so iconic in memorable in comparison. I expected to cringe and be disappointed, but I didn’t expect to be outright disgusted. I legitimately felt sick listening to the segment about Bobby and the kind of treatment he faced, and worst part to me is that I have to tell myself that I shouldn’t be surprised at this, I should’ve expected it. It’s Hollywood and they’re notorious for this kind of treatment of actors, especially the child ones, but it’s not gonna stop me from being as angry as I am now. The way they treated Peter Pan and frankly Bobby itself was just mindless and should not have existed. All it does is give me one more reason why I hate the industry and don’t plan to support anything they do, no matter what the public has to say about them. The things companies would do just for a quick buck.😑
Keep it up with this amazing video analysis, I absolutely love them. I subbed you. Think you could do a video analysis on Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic? I you have never seen it before I highly recommend you watch it because it's a very good, underrated anime.
I agree with MOST of what you said about the Chip n dale Rescue Rangers movie, it sucked ASS! I hated the characters, Chips n Dales voices, the story, the dialouge, the "humor" and "jokes" & how they made Peter Pan the villain a la Bobby Driscoll. It DIDNT deserve the Emmy, or EVEN being nominated for it! It SHOULD have won the Razzie for WORST movie & story! But this was a tv-movie. WHY THE FUCK havent they established tv AND music & theater equivalent to the Razzies/Golden Raspberry awards!? This movie is one of the WORST movies i saw too! And the fact that almost ALL 2D animated characters, the Claymation Cop, Cheese selling Puppet was made with CGI is STUPID & a BIG PROOF that CGI is overused nowadays while making animated movies & tv-shows and visual effects, 1 of the reasons why i HATE the modern film industry! And its NOT up to Disney to make parodies of itself like with this movie!
Wild to think Disney now has come to use Bobby Driscoll's likeness in vain and get rewarded with reverence and awards TWICE now in just half a century now. We truly live in a clown world.
As a Sonic fan, Movie Sonic would've actually been funny had he have only one or two appearances. Unfortunately, the movie jacks him off SEVERELY and even shoves him in plot wise at the end. I personally didn't watch Rescue rangers as a kid, so I watched it thinking it would've been a good idea [it wasn't.] I actually clicked off once I saw the Peter Pan shit. Bobby Driscoll's tragic life isn't a damn joke, and I really would've preferred the villain be a caricature of Hollywood [or Mickey himself]. Oh well. This IS Disney we're talking about. At least there's a South Park cameo.
Something else that bothered me in the movie was the handling of Ellie. The movie goes out of its way to make her as suspicious as possible, then when it comes to reveal who is the traitor it reveals it was the captain despite not doing anything to set it up. And its poor attempt at being self aware by calling it the "Obvious" choice was just baffling. It also was used as a way to make Dale right and make Chip look stupid because he suspected Ellie despite literally everything pointing to her being a traitor. The joke doesn't work when Ellie is the only suspicious character and the captain is barely in the movie. She's not a red herring when there are no other possible suspects. But the movie thinks it's so clever with that fake out.
It’s very sad that fans who seen the movie only cared about the cameos. Speaking of cameos the cameos itself is actually confusing and insulting for example some of the cameos like Randy marsh from South Park, detective Flores from big mouth and Mr natural shouldn’t t even be in this film because Randy was from a very R rated show like you can’t reference it without being offensive, big mouth for promoting child pornography and Mr natural appeared in an X rated short called up in flames besides the comics he appears in. While other cameos like the my little pony cameo for example which during the chase chip and dale ride on a group of the characters then in the next shot featuring the 2 the ponies are gone and it’s just them running again. Plus what’s also confusing is the size of the ponies because they look tiny and don’t you say it’s a shrinking spell or some parody predicted it or it’s a cartoon. It’s probably because of the title featuring the word little in it which is a very stupid reason because well… I’m not a brony but I do remember they use to have human characters where the ponies were almost the size as one of the main characters who is a human little girl name Megan Williams and even on the cover of equestrian girls and in a blooper they are little compared to their human counter part but not as tiny like Toy Story characters. What they should have done is not show that part at all or just have them running. As for the movie its actually an insult to the original rescue ranger,Peter pan,who framed Roger rabbit and probably classic fans who support movies like song of the south for example since Bobby Driscoll started in that movie as Johnny.(the main character) and even parents hated the movie for the whole Bobby Driscoll controversy,a drug cartel and depictions of human trafficking. There’s probably a controversy for stealing that kingdom hearts fanart. While people just wanna sit and go oh I know this reference for over an hour plus they end the film literally mocking audience who wanted an actual rescue ranger reboot (and probably Darkwing duck that part I don’t actually know) I don’t know if they were aware of that but if they were then that would have been a very mean move. Plus this movie could be one of their woke agendas thing I don’t know. There are good things I like about this movie because I try to be nice but the only thing I enjoy more is Ellie (I don’t blame the actress who played her so i don’t think it’s her fault) who would have been the second Eddie if there were a who framed Roger rabbit 2 but she would have fears of toons after an incident and the movie would try to cure her fears. The only mistake she made was that Nick jr comment she made for those who seen the scene or a clip about it and what happened to paw patrol and peppa pig. because paw patrol was from Canada by spin master for tvokids and peppa pig was a British series for channel 5 and that the Nick jr part was for their American broadcast. That’s just a huge insult to kids who watches those shows it’s just sad. They should have brought back Disney infinity
The Disney brand's expanded so much that they don't really reflect a cohesive identity anymore and trying to be self aware of this while playing like they have heart and integrity and care deeply for what they produce and its legacy... but look at the shit in this movie! Frankly, I don't buy that the Bobby Driscoll thing was an accident when the entire character motivation is that of a disposed of child actor? I learned about that story in high school without actually trying to find out about it, literally through reading about random things. Are you telling me that animators and writers working for Disney who were using the IP and character were ignorant of it? If so, WOW they just do not care anymore! I'd have hated the Pluto idea as well, cause Disney doing this kind of thing at any established character is wildly OOC and tarnishes them (I hated when the trash Scooby Doo live action remake did it too), but at the very least it isn't a sick joke to do. Disney has no quality control anymore and just sprays out content and usually it's rare that it's something that's actually a true classic because most lately is just rushed and haphazard.
This movie is hot garbage. Everything you’ve said and them some. The film, like that God-awful 11th Star Trek film (which ironically also featured Eric Bana), just calls itself as the show it derives itself from meaning you have to actually distinguish which “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” you’re referring to and yet, it doesn’t actually have anything to do with the concept of Rescue Rangers, isn’t set in the world of it, and the show is ultimately nothing but a show that Chip and Dale both did. It would have made more sense just to have it be the two characters Disney originally created and when stuff goes weird, Dale tries to encourage Chip to be detectives to solve the mystery only for him to dismiss it as fictional roles they once played and is no more real than them being palace guards (referencing the _Kingdom Hearts_ games) or what have you. The poster even sells you on something never delivered since Chip keeps that damn blue collar shirt on even when he puts on the jacket and (sorta) embraces his RR self while having had his ear morphed and I don’t remember if he puts on the hat. Why not have the plot be the characters drifted apart because Chip went full Robin from _Teen Titans_ even once the cases seemed to dry up only to be forced back together. Maybe Chip actually became convinced they weren’t needed anymore following false after false hope proved it was time to hang it up. Now Dale is the one having to be the serious one trying to get Chip to lead them to victory because he knows he could never lead the team. There is at least one episode where Chip acts like a complete ass if he didn’t think their plight was a worthy case for them to get involved in. Of course, there was also an episode showing Chip to be a huge fanboy of an ersatz Sherlock Holmes…🙄 Point is, this film is divorced from what it’s drawing from and appropriates from people’s cultural memories. In an odd bit of counterpointing, while the Bobby Driscoll business is serious and not to be discounted, if nothing about the film was changed but Bobby himself _didn’t_ go through what he did IRL, would the Sweet Pete business have been so bad and/or tasteless? Peter of all characters was someone who had issues of never growing up and also counters the whole clinging to the past that the two leads are dealing with. However, the film oddly ignores the fact that Pan actually got a direct-to-video sequel so it’s not like he was a one-and-done.🤨 It probably would have been better if Max Goof was the child star who was less successful after getting older leading to villainy since, after the 2 Goofy movies, he was relegated to either cameos in _House of Mouse_ or going back to being a kid for one of those Christmas movies. At least using Max would keep it relevant to the Disney Afternoon.😕 All the same, FUCK THIS MOVIE!!!
I wonder if the writers really did want to lean more on the self critical route, but he giant Mouse Empire forbade anything that made them look like anything but the squeaky image they need to uphold. Really disgusting what happened to Bobby Driscoll.
What they did to Bobby Driscoll/peter pan reminds me of the movie Cats don't dance and what they did to Shirley Temple. The girl was tortured and sexually abused but the movie portrays her as an irredeemable brat. Pretty sick
I didn't see the film, but from first glance it looks more like a fanfiction story getting officially put into a film and not being well thought out, even having too many references that look out of place. Like Space Jam Legacy and the Resident Evil films directed by Paul W. S. Anderson aside from Apocalypse and Extinction.
In regards to the animation… (2D and 3D CGI) we see that in the younger years there is a perfectly animated Blaster from transformers… additionally… in all my watching of that show…! There was never an animation of him clapping to my knowledge and he was clapping!!! (Blaster being an autobot) also assuming that… CGI surgeries don’t just affect how they appear… (Cuz let’s be fair… the transformers are literally shown to be taller than humans in both 2D and 3D (by three to four stories most… accurately shown in the 3D era) how did Pete take down Optimus? Who is like… a hundred feet taller than he is (sorry for the ranting)

Im a sonic fan that has the sanity to not like ugly sonic. Whenever i see bad sonic media i just fall asleep or im disturbed. Thats all. And my personality is more than being a sonic fan.
I’m not gonna lie I actually watch the movie multiple times and I actually really liked it not just because of the jokes that didn’t line up but because the fact that the plot was actually really good and actually found that it felt like who framed Roger rabbit plus I enjoyed it just for me to actually look into certain things about animation that I definitely feel like some of the people at Disney said that we need to tell the truth for once. there were so many areas in this movie that I was like oh my God they really went all out for this movie from the animation to the puppy tree to literally showing old school animation new school animation anime like it did it all. I’m not trying to clown a movie or say anything bad it did have its flaws but definitely it was really good.

Agreed! No debates here.
That and the Lonely Island.

Nowadays i AGREE! Its an parasitic devil in an angels disguise!
The whole movie can basically be summed down to “You can’t hurt my feelings if I’m in on the joke.” And then “Are you though?”
Meta humor fails when the writers use it thinking their smarter than their audience
38:19 Additional criticism on that point: _Disney _*_literally_*_ owns the Muppets! They could've _*_easily_*_ gotten an actual Muppet to play this character!_
I know exactly what you mean. They totally wasted another licensed property. 🤦🏼♀️
Because they can just make the CGI workers crunching for low pay instead of paying one puppeteer a fair wage for a day
Along with cgi being easier and cheaper, it would be easier to have the computer animated puppet interacting with other computer animated characters.
Bobby's story is absolutely heartbreaking.
Buried in an unmarked grave... he deserved better.
Not sure if the writers were tone-deaf assholes... or just assholes.
Sad thing is, Disney could’ve stopped the Lonely Island but instead enabled them and made them double down on it. They’re fucking scum.
It's a sad truth that Disney and Hollywood have always had a dark underbelly of corruption, abuse, and worse.
The way they just spit on the peter pan thing. Like wow how dare they.
"Let's not kid ourselves, we ALL know where this is going." *Pushes button to set off nuke in the background.*
Yeah, Gumball is creative and pretty good, but not perfect.
@@hariman7727 Yeah it's not perfect. But it is atleast way more creative. They are able to blend so many animation style and even live action at one point. And they don't have those weird moment were people just make fun of the animation.
AND ITS A TV SHOW WITH LIKE NOT EVEN A 10TH OF THE BUDGET BUT ITS BETTER ANIMATED FOR AN ENTIRE SEASON
@@francisboio
Meh... the DuckTales appeals more to Americans, but the DuckTales got a lot of criticism here in some European countries.
@@Nonjola As a European I have enjoyed it honestly, the only gripe I have with it is a bit the artstyle but I didn't find huge problems. I think it's a enjoyable reboot
@@francisboio Well, most people I talked really didn't like the reboot.
It sucks that this movie made me appreciate Monkeybone. That movie might not have been all that good, but at least that movie was able to actually use different styles of animation like 2D and stop-motion.
Finally someone else who knows about MONKEY BONE!
Wow....I wasn't expecting that Peter Pan bit to be so.... heavy.
Preach, my dude. PREACH. Every person who says this movie is good needs to get their fucking brains checked.
Reason 1: bobby driscoll
Reason 2: stealing a Trace of fan art of Sora from deviantart and added in the film without the fan artist's permission
Bobby deserved way better.
The difference between this movie and Sonic Boom is that
1: Sonic Boom is genuinely funny
2: Their jokes are tasteful
3: They aren't making light of a tragedy of an actor's life.
I mean, 3 is for certain, everything else is debatable. So while Sonic Boom may not be that funny, at least it didn’t do anything immoral.

When I saw Peter as a grown-up AND a villian I was like "Oh, no..."
"You can't hurt their feelings if your in on the joke."
This literally describes the whole movie.
What they did with Peter pan is so disgusting and offensive
5:20 that’s the biggest compliment we’ve ever received, thank you 🥰
I was a hard-core Chip n Dale rescue rangers fan.
"You have forgotten who you are so you have forgotten me."
- Lion King
Literally, Disney became a horrible company that, as you say, now only makes productions based on quantity and not quality, even to achieve something almost impossible like being one of the big five, they themselves ruin it by creating poor productions just for the sole reason. reason for making double money, a huge shame for Walt Disney, his company finally reached the top only to become a soulless megamonopoly.
I always refer to modern Disney as "The Bob Iger Corporation," Walt's name does not deserve to be attached to the current state of the company.
Everytime I'm reminded of this movie, I get so pissed off with how much wrong there is in it.
And just because someone says something
is satire, or shedding light on a problem, or whatever the hell they choose to say...it doesn't really matter if it's done incorrectly. Gee, it almost seems like
instead of shedding light on problems that child actors face, it was a big middle finger and shifting blame to the actors instead of Disney.
Nope, 3d but with a art style)
it turns out the Rescue Rangers movie and Looney Tunes Back in Action are the same movie
Except at least Back In Action used actual 2D animation and didn't shit on a dead actor
I have NEVER, EVER had an animated film offend me to the point that this one does, especially since it exposes its creators as vile, selfish, merciless, cruel, sadistic human beings.

Movie Sonic would've actually been funny had he have only one or two appearances. Unfortunately, the movie jacks him off SEVERELY and even shoves him in plot wise at the end. I personally didn't watch Rescue rangers as a kid, so I watched it thinking it would've been a good idea [it wasn't.]
I actually clicked off once I saw the Peter Pan shit. Bobby Driscoll's tragic life isn't a damn joke, and I really would've preferred the villain be a caricature of Hollywood [or Mickey himself].
Oh well. This IS Disney we're talking about. At least there's a South Park cameo.
Does he own South Park yet?
Disney what you did to Bobby was just...
I hate Disney even more then i already do....
Disney has no quality control anymore and just sprays out content and usually it's rare that it's something that's actually a true classic because most lately is just rushed and haphazard.
well I know more about this movie,, even I saw it 3 times, try to get it, But that "pluto" theory, could be much better!
At least using Max would keep it relevant to the Disney Afternoon.😕
All the same, FUCK THIS MOVIE!!!
The 2D effect really lacks... you can clearly see is a 3d model
I wonder if the writers really did want to lean more on the self critical route, but he giant Mouse Empire forbade anything that made them look like anything but the squeaky image they need to uphold. Really disgusting what happened to Bobby Driscoll.
"for a show I have never seen"
Well there you go, I doubt anyone but chip and dale fans liked the chip and dale movie.
What they did to Bobby Driscoll/peter pan reminds me of the movie Cats don't dance and what they did to Shirley Temple. The girl was tortured and sexually abused but the movie portrays her as an irredeemable brat. Pretty sick
its a great movie to watch while on edibles. 10/10. sober, idk
You haven’t seen megamid2/megamind rulez yet
I didn't see the film, but from first glance it looks more like a fanfiction story getting officially put into a film and not being well thought out, even having too many references that look out of place. Like Space Jam Legacy and the Resident Evil films directed by Paul W. S. Anderson aside from Apocalypse and Extinction.
Bobby didn’t deserve what happened to him 😢
You could've been more right it's lame!
Thats chip n dale minus the irony....so just like the boys
I hate the movie.
In all honesty, I feel the exact same way. This movie is basically the embodiment of the term "irony poisoning."
@@sonloto I thought you were gonna give him a reality check when I read "in all honesty" but lol at you guys having emotional feelings over a disney movie. Kids these days
Why does the 2D animation look so *_bad?_* This is DISNEY, ffs!
Because it isn't 2D… it's actually 3D made to look 2D.
Also that Muppet Character and the Claymation Character? They're CG too
The movie just looks gross to me.
Nothing about seems appealing.
FINALLY, a perfect review that told it like it is about the Chip and Dale Rescue Ranger movie
Im a sonic fan that has the sanity to not like ugly sonic. Whenever i see bad sonic media i just fall asleep or im disturbed. Thats all. And my personality is more than being a sonic fan.
This is a curse. The whole movie is a curse and Hollywood let it happen.
BRING BACK HAND DRAWN ANIMATION ALREADY!!!!!
