Amazing what you can learn in 5 minutes from someone who knows FCP inside out. Thanks Dylan.

I’m only 50 seconds in and can’t believe I never knew about these generators. I mean, I can believe it but I am excited to see what they are all about!

Always such great stuff! You did forget to mention a few setting in the Rays Generator: Sugar, Ban, X and of course Blu. I’ll show myself out…

Love your videos and have purchased your vertical video plugin for FXCP... I know you are more advanced but I would love to see a quick video where you cover the basics of navigating and working with FXCP projects from a noobs point of view - useful stuff like toggling magnetic timeline, why i cant delete dark clip sections of a vid - and other basic stuff that baffles us newbies... thanks!

Great video Dylan!! Thanks for sharing! Question for you... Is there a way to create a custom folder or group in the Titles area where you can save your most used titles? Same with Generators? I know you can do that with effects but is it possible to do that for Titles and Generators too? Thanks in advance!!

Interesting as always. I have to admit I have no idea how to use these generators in real life applications. Would you be interested in doing a video on that? Also can you make or purchase other generators (I think Motion VFX has some) ?

    • @TheFinalCutBro
      @TheFinalCutBro  4 місяці тому +1

Real life applications would be stuff like using the dust generator to add atmosphere to a scene! Using the rays as a background (like I did for this entire video). Using the placeholder to fill in gaps on your timeline where you don't yet have media for, but you need to properly time out your rough edit. Using the number counter to animate currency or percentages on the screen, and finally using all those objects to remind people to like and subscribe on the video!

Hey Dylan, at first thanks for sharing so much with us!
I have a question - How do you separate yourself from your background?
Is it green screen or mroto ai or traditional masking?
    Please share some insights ❤

ua-cam.com/video/hSYwpo74t1M/v-deo.html I have a whole video showing my process! Although for this particular video, I used mRotoAI instead of Keyper (like what's shown in that video)

    • @TheFinalCutBro

There's a monospace parameter in the text parameters in Motion! It's near the bottom. Publishing that will do the trick!

Dude. The "Beam" Generator DOES NOT WORK for me! I've tried and tried and tried... and it's bogus. Built in should work. WTH?
Also, Apple told me to do Tracker Testing with the "Drift" Generator.... Because trackers do not work in vertical and square format. The aspect ratio causes the tracker to over compensate on the y-axis. I reported this bug to Apple months ago. Still not fixed.
    You can test this yourself:
Open a new Vertical Orientation project. Drop in the Drift Generator. Then drop a "Custom" [text] title on the bubble with the tracker. With the Title Tracker, put the tracker on a bubble. You'll see that the Y axis overshoots by about 200%, at least it is/was for me FCP 10.7.1.

Yes I have had that same issue with vertical videos! The fix is to edit the video in a 16x9 timeline, and apply the vertical video into a compound clip before tracking it.
That's one of the big reasons I created my Pro Vertical plugin! ua-cam.com/video/qX0kQzaPQYU/v-deo.html
As for the Beam generator, I'm not sure what the issue could be there. It works just fine on my machine! Might be worth doing a re-install of FCP?
