Fostoria is a name I've heard stobe the hobo talk about many times. Glad to see you're still doing well shoestring, I think all humans everywhere are amazing and I wish I could see everones life because they are all interesting, your life is the same, and I feel privileged that you share a small part of it with us. Thank you.
im in sandusky we got an amtrack station I work in bellview right by the yard. So cool to see you came around my neck of the woods. I love your channel! safe travels and god bless
I love your videos, Shoestring. My late grandfather rode the rails during the depression. Your videos bring back fond memories of the stories he used to tell.
I've got to tell you when it comes to trains you're very knowledgeable and yes this has been your life for quite sometime. But I admire you SHOESTRING and always wish you good health and that the good Lord keeps you safe!
Shoestring, been watching for a while now, about 9 months after stobes passing. Living my dream out through your travels. I hope you're doin the best you can. If you're ever in kansas, round the south side of the kansas river just past kc, and need to hop off I'm right off the tracks. Always happy to help a traveler.
I was born in Fostoria in 1956, wasn't living there then, but in the country. My parents built a house in Fostoria in the 60's, Still standing. Nice to see a video from there. Take care.
Many years ago when I was much younger I hitchhiked from the east coast to the west coast using my thumb!!!! I thought really hard about hopping on a train but the reason I DIDNT do it was because I had no way of telling where the hell I was going to end up!!!! Lol
Another great lesson!! They get better and better professor shoestring...without a doubt you are the best..would b a honor to meet you if you ever get to Pa..thanks for all you do for us b safe...
Really love watching your videos, on or off the trains, its a real advanture. The freedom of just going where ever, when ever you want is really living free. Stay safe and happy riding.
Hey Shoestring ! A massive hello from Australia, my man you are a legend! I’ve had me a hard time of late and watching your videos has helped me a lot! Keep up the amazing adventures and stay safe!
My home town! I remember when it was chessie, B&O, C&O, N&W ! Great memories I grew up right around corner! You have nothing to worry about we used to hop trains in broad daylight in all those places your showing lol
Been watching for a while, back when you had 2k subs..now you’ve got 23k. Great going! Quality of your videos has improved as well as the content. Be well, Shoestring, and thanks.
Your a wealth of knowledge Shoestring , so interesting to listen to, you should write a book on all your adventures. A video book story would be even better!!!! Good luck catching out !!!¡
Love your videos. My grandpa worked for con rail yard in Enola Pennsylvania back in his younger days . I miss his story’s he passed away few years ago . His name is John l Kling but everyone called him Leroy .
This is the Iron Triangle. The best train watching spot in Ohio. I live in Columbus and we don't have it this good here. It's amazing how the rail lines come together at Fostoria considering the fact that Fostoria is surrounded by farm fields. The other great train watching spots are Berea and Marion.
I love watching the trains in Avon, In. What really cool for me is im only 10 feet from the ISRR line that runs between Indianapolis and Bloomington In.

I live north of there near Ann Arbor, MI. Fostoria is one of my favorite bench spots! I’ve met many a traveler in Ann Arbor, who rode “The Annie” north from Toledo.
Shoestring I just found your videos about a month ago and I've been watching I love all of your videos. Especially of your apartment tour with all of year railroad memorabilia. You know more about the railroad and most people that works there for you not ever working for the railroad. My father work 30 years for the old Frisco Railroad out of Birmingham. He retired in 1980 as they was bought out by Burlington Northern Santa Fe. As did his four other brothers. All 4 Frisco Railroad. My nephew now works for CSX he's been there 15 years. I got some old Frisco railroad memorabilia. I think I'm going to sell cuz I'm getting older. But keep up the good work and the videos. Frisco family
Now every time I see a grainer car I think about climbing in the hole 😁. There's a rail yard not to far from me in Neenah Wisconsin. All the stack trains go through the yard and head West and there's a line that runs North to Greenbay or you can go south to Oshkosh Wisconsin. Them stack trains haul ass through that rail yard!
Love the videos however this kind of lifestyle is not the dream of most people in society. I for one like my air conditioned and heated home in a nice neighborhood.
Awesome 4way man! Never seen that before. I worked on a machine that Carrie's around those empty shipping containers. It expands 40ft then legs come out and pick it up and drive it around

Shoestring, here's an idea. Make notes with drawings about all these locations...Sidings, jump-off points and such. Make a journal of it all and down the road when you are done with your journey on the rails, sell copies. I'm thinkin' you'll do good with that. Also, on the " No Comments " video you also loaded up, the train sounds were much better, for whatever reason. Happy railroadin' out there!
Whole train of crude oil come into Tuscaloosa Al to Hunt Oil regular. Every so often a special super high tonnage one comes through from Canada I think. Railroad had to do a pile of work on the bridges around here to tote the load. Drove my buddy crazy with them screwing his schedule up big time said he had to wait 2/3 hrs some time for the work crews to clear out so he could cross. He heads west in the am then picks up the east bound in the pm so he had to deal with it twice a day.
If you take a lighter to the hole where the leash is connected it will seal it and keep it from fraying. Be carful because webbing is really flammable.

I have one question for you rail road guy. Why do they stack longer trailer on shorter one? What keeps gravity from saying f that on a corner and the top container flying off.
Rest easy shoestring, you were one of a kind and one in a million, I will keep riding the rails with you through your videos.
I'm glad we can still travel with you, the trains in heaven must be something!

just started seeing your videos such a historical perspective on railroading. enjoy the scenery. how would i email you.
so people in yard offices north, south, east, and west for hundreds of miles are sitting at their computers watching youtube trying to figure out which way Shoestring is going
I have one question for you rail road guy. Why do they stack longer trailer on shorter one? What keeps gravity from saying f that on a corner and the top container flying off.
