I will not be satisfied until the entirety of New Japan’s history has been recounted by Kevin Kelly. These videos are spectacular!
I second this!
I triple this
I'm gonna drop a word: Showbuckle.
Right bro
I AGREE
NJPW is still at the top of Pro-wrestling bussiness espicially at Japan
Haruka in japan yes but not in the west
@@kingj7606 not really, New Japan in terms of quality wrestling with western wrestling still far above from them especially ROH, WWE (excl. NXT) and impact, at Japan those western promotion barely have strength to compete with New Japan level
He's right in terms of popularity but in terms of quality NJPW is at the top. An alliance with NJPW and AEW would be magic and mutually beneficial. I'm in the US and I love AEW but never stopped watching NJPW when "The Elite" left and why would I?! It's still fantastic!
New Japan is like a perfectly cooked steak dinner made by a Master chef, WWE is more like McDonald's.
inoki and Muhammad Ali built njpw
by far the best tournament in pro-wrestling
Without question
Have you watched the super j cup
or ajw tag league
Or ajpw championship carnival
If yes you would think otherwise
Himanshu Mahajan i was a wwe fan for a long time
but i just start watching puroresu
specially matches from ajpw in the 90s
kawada misawa kobashi williams hansen
but i really like juniors like hayabusa great sasuke and my fav jushin liger
but i will watch those that u mention 👍
@@Jcescz sure
@@Jcescz but don't miss BOLA
I have a lot of respect for Japanese wrestling
Man I wish I could go to Dallas for opening day
I wanted to go but a death and funeral got in the way.
Same.
I went it was an amazing show ospreay vs archer stole the show
@@punkaintdead4977 was an amazing night for those in attendance
I never knew that the history of the G1 Climax went far back as 1974
Inoki needed an excuse to make serious money off of his feud and AJPW had the champions carnival so that's when the concept of world league began.
It goes back further to the World Big League in 1959, started by Rikidōzan the godfather of Puroresu.
It was adapted by Giant Baba in 72 for the Champion Carnival and Inoki in 74
@@thehighground_ that is also factually accurate, its also for the same reason that baba and inoki did it, they needed big blow off matches with the foreign heels and so they made these one off tournaments that they realized "hey wait this is an excuse to bring in foreign guys and new guys to either build up, beat or debut".
@@thehighground_ plot twist:
It goes even more further to 1930s
@@uainjansun but how? Jwa founded in 1952 . Before that there was no promotion or the tournament
NJPW is still the peak of the pro wrestling business. NJPW is on an another level.
Awesome as always. This is great for old NJPW fans who lived outside Japan to understand the history past my old odd no sequence vhs tapes. Thank you
I really love the fact that they acknowledge how bad they were during their inokism years (from 2002-2006)
@Kelltron if the business is down, then obviously the product is going to get effected by this
the G1s were amazing in that time, you have no idea what you're talking about
@@monicaspencer8376 not at all, success and quality are almost never directly connected
*2008
1st G1 was in April 26 ,1974, I was only 4 at the time, I didn't get into wrestling until I was teenager or younger. I love Kevin Kelly's recount, and I truly love NJPW.
*The Recount* has returned. Glad to hear and see the history of G1 CLIMAX's early days all the way to present. *LOVE U New Japan.*
Thank you NJPW for igniting my love for pro wrestling again.
They said strong style is brutal but damn! In the 70's, 80's and 90's they weren't playing
I love these NJPW videos, perfect timing to release this, too! The 1992 G1 not only had Rick Rude, but Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Jim Neidhart, Terry Taylor, Bam Bam Bigelow, Barry Windham and more!
That was a great narration by Kevin Kelly. Very well explained
The recount is so great for New fans
What rich history the G1 Climax has had. The best tournament in Pro Wrestling. That's why I will always love New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Yay! Love the Recount. Can't wait for PT. 2

This was wonderfully well presented. My first taste of the G-1 Climax was in 2002. I saw the whole thing via VHS and man, was I NOT disappointed! The final was epic and made me a fan of the product ever since. Can’t wait for this year’s G-1!
Who were the finalists that year?
Masahiro Chono vs. Yoshihiro Takayama
Hogan was amazing in Japan! Wrestled as well as anyone!
So overrated man , I really don’t think he’s that good
I went to Ryogoku to see the match of Yamazaki vs Hashimoto.
That was really a great match.
thats awesome
God we love that promotion, I admire all the athletes and wrestling styles combined
I love these Recount vids!
In 99 I'd never thought I'd say this but: Kevin Kelly rocks! Best play by play in the current landscape, barring only Mauro
I agree re Kelly. Still hear WWF Mania and Action Zone when he speaks but his knowledge is incredible
This is such an awesome way to learn more about the history of NJPW. Kevin Kelly's been so great.
The G1 is one year older than I am!!! Love the history I need to watch these historical events!!!
This is the kind of videos i was looking for. I've wanted this series to cover the ancient history of the company for a long time, and now it's here
This is so f***ing good. Thank you for uploading this. Great history.
Man so much history here!! I love this type of education.
Nothing better than NJPW and WWE. The history is intertwined and exciting

That was an excellent watch, I learned so much. Thank you for uploading this, can’t wait for Part 2.
G1 has become my favorite wrestling event since I first watched it 2 years ago. Would rather watch it than mania anytime.
Same here
What a fantastic video!!
Even after losing a lot of great stars, New Japan is still bringing it strong! Can’t wait for Wrestle Kingdom in January!
This was so good! Thank you for The Recount ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Thank you so much for the history lesson! Looking forward to part two!
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. G1 is upon us and it’s going to be amazing!
Loved this, thank you so much and I look forward to even more.
The first G1 Final is really good from bell to bell it is a classic. I highly recommend everyone to watch it.
Great video can’t wait for the G1
I absolutely LOVE this! I can't wait to watch NJPW history be made live in Dallas Saturday!
This is INCREDIBLE content. Please keep making stuff like this!
These are awesome. Great to know the history. Some day I'll go back and watch all the G1s.
Masa Chono could be considered as the God of G1 due to his multiple G1 Climax wins. It is an impossible feat to accomplish due to the fact that the guys who had the chance to chase or break Chono’s record like Okada or Tanahashi tend to be beaten either during the middle of the round, the semi finals or even the finals itself
Well inoki already broked his record since inoki won 10 g1 climax and some were years straight
@@uainjansun well inoki had many tournament victory but still he didn't won g1 , so chono is still mr G1
I absolutely adore these historical look backs, please do more. Feuds in particular that defined the era's of NJPW would be awesome.
Definitely a fan...keep them coming!
Great video! Looking forward to part 2.
I was waiting for that. Recount is my favorite series.
this is a helpful and informative video since i just got into NJPW for a month now.
I’m a big fan of the recount. Thanks to everyone involved!
This was VERY enjoyable to watch. Thank you to everyone involved.
This is going to be my first G1 Climax and I for one can't wait... if it is as insane as people make it out to be.
The BOSJ was insane enough with the block action. Even figuring out the angles was fun.
It's insane. Buckle up. You're going to love this.
Chris H36 Enjoy the ride 🤙
watch G1 Climax 27 after that
I’m a major fan luv njpw thank you for producing a miracle in professional wrestling
Wow, this video is so informative and well-produced
Great video, especially for people like me just getting into NJPW
Never mind me. I’m just a new comer to NJPW and educating myself on the promotion
This was an awesome history lesson for me. I love it and didn't realize there were so many known stars from WWE there as well...
Great work with this video! Explaining the history of the G1 can be a bit tricky -- nice job with that.
Excellent vid! Thank you NJPW and Kevin Kelly for doing this.
And THANK YOU for not being afraid to mention other promotions as well as NJPW's troubled early-2000 times.
You guys do not treat your fans like idiots.
Idk anything about njpws' past but watching them wrestle in the 80's and 90's shows that I have been sheltered my entire life by just watching wwe
Enlightening and amazing. The G1 Climax is wrestling royalty.
Not complaining because these recount videos are amazing! And I love that Kevin Kelly explains these amazingly but I hope y’all can drop the history of LIJ and Suzuki-Gun soon too!
I love learning more and more about NJPW its amazing.
Best wrestling show on UA-cam about the best wrestling show in the world!
This is wonderful, as always
Thank you for doing this
Oh that ace cliffhanger :-) Can't wait for the next part!
Can’t wait for Saturday
We want more I was glued to my seat
I loved this vid! Really interesting stuff!
LOVE THIS RECOUNT SERIES!! 🏆
Too good ... All pumped up for g1 this year!!
I love these videos. Recount is great and so is Kevin Kelly's commentary over it.
Great video, as always.
That was awesome!!!
Man good stuff... so much passion in njpw
I am amazed at the video quality NJPW had in the 70’s and 80’s. Japanese tech was definitely superior in that era.
Excellent video... learned a lot
Great job like always
Great stuff as always. 👍
Keep em coming!!
RECOUNT RULES!! I want more!! Also I subbed 💪💪
I love this series. When most of these events were going on, the best I could do was read about it on forums and download the occasional match
Amazing work!
As a huge wrestling fan who’s knowledgeable of NJPW is limited, I really appreciate these videos
It's almost time for G1 season to begin. I can't wait.
I like how Kevin Kelly is so in tune with the product. Passionate commentators make the shows so much more enjoyable to watch.
great episode!
i need more of this..
Loved this
I have never really watched NJPW. I've heard things here and there over the years but never really knew much about the company. These videos really help people like me who don't know much about Japanese pro wrestling get to know the history and appreciate where things are at today.
So informative!!
This is quite spectacular!
Awesome video. NJPW is the best promotion in all of pro-wrestling.
Awesome summary! I just wish NJPW World could revamp their search engine and make these shows a little more easy to seek out.
great vid!
The recount is my favorite video series no cap
Kevin Kelly's narration of these segments are great (Y)
