No other wrestling promotion would admit that they once (or more) went through a dark period. Love the honesty
Yeah
Or feature stars who are now in rival promotions
I agree. It's refreshing to hear!
WWE did mention going through a down period in the 90's before the Attitude Era, so....
wwe did before the AE.
The Recounts literally connect the existing fans with the new ones. For old Njpw fans, the Recount is nostalgic and for new ones, its exciting and informative. Kevin Kelly deserves a medal for the narration.
An amazing series giving everyone real facts that you can't research and truly prove how hard working that company is for us
I'm a new fan and you couldn't be more right
G1 is on right now on AXS in the US. Watched these vids. Now the match on is Ibushi and the Ace Tanahashi. Match is 1000x better knowing the whole story
Agreed!
I’m a newer fan and you are absolutely correct
Damn, red shoes with the giant cat jump
He’s the best ref in the business for a reason
No doubt, though i feel Marty Isami is catching him up. Red Shoes is legendary though. He takes 0 shit from anyone.
@@RomeoBarnes kyohei wada is way better tho(the referee from AJPW) he also has his own chant
This really opened my eyes to this company. It feels way more professional and prestigious than WWE for sure.
And less popular
@@AdmiralRockstar shut up
@@sanjaymanjarejar8176 he’s not wrong
Back when nakamura was an actual star instead of a wasted mid carder lol.
Before this last year, he was treated as a bigger star than he was in NJPW tbh.
@@profitduck. Nakamura was always bigger in NJPW than in WWE.
In the NJPW ranking, Nakamura has always been number 2 behind Hiroshi Tanahashi. In WWE, he was never number 2 in WWE.
@Murtaz M
I grant him his vacation in WWE. He has nothing more to prove. He has had many great matches in NJPW.
@@alexmagic8934 or treat his wwe days as meditation in Himalaya for great and gruelling matches when he comes back
Nakamura is all about surfing these days i don't think he has the same hunger he used to have
Yuji Nagata STILL feels like a big deal wrestler these days. I love that man.
dude nagata is long retired.
nagata is famoused from mma matches with shamrock and crocop. though he lost he did fought well.
@@maosama3695 I dont expect him to win titles. I just think he still has that big time aura.
He's my favorite of the dads, by far. His final G1 run a couple years ago was incredible, and even now he has such a great ability to flip that switch and feel like a legitimate threat.
The best old man in wrestling. Compare him now to WWE’s undertaker... Nagata feels so much for relevant and impactful, while putting on much better performances, even if they’re limited to tag matches.
@@keenanmccarty9925 stop sleeping on Cozy. He's killing it right now.
Wow Tanahashi looks like Ricky the Dragon Steamboat from 85 - 87. Would've loved to see those too wrestle each other in their prime!!!!
Steamboat was his favorite wrestler , he has modeled some of his style on Ricky Steamboat
@@TheSupinesmokey Wow Ok I didn't know that , thanks for telling me that.
Yeah im pretty sure his frog splash/crossbody he does on the outside is homage to Steamboats crossbody finisher
Kota Ibushi for 2019 G1 Winner! I call it! Ibushi all the Way!
I'm going with Naito.
Michael Bandada Naito Naito Naito
going for the dragon or Ospreay
Gives a Fuck!!
Jay white as winner of G1 is never in the same block as Iwgp champ
@2:29 that’s why Red Shoes is one of the best referees in Pro Wrestling!
You honestly gotta love how he still does that, today
@@FF18Cloud yes indeed. The guy still got it.
Karl anderson from G1 one finalist to whatever is happening now to him in the wwe xD
This shit is why I prefer NJPW over every other wrestling promotion today! This will be the fourth G1 I'll be watching ever since getting into NJPW in late 2015. This year is shaping up to be one of the best I'll ever witness!
I like that other promotions are able to send guys too. Seeing Moxley in the tournament, dream matches that he never would have got being stuck in WWE
The best tournament ever!! 🔥🔥
Fuck yeah it is
@@tomjohnson8410 Definitely the correct answer
bola of pwg is great too
@@tomjohnson8410 what's that lol?

G1 Climax the greatest party of the summer
You fu**ed Summer Slam Bro🤣🤣🤣🤣😎😎😎😎
It's true. G1 Climax is the greatest party of summer.
It’s these type of recaps and stories of highs and lows and humble beginnings that are other reasons why I love to follow, learn, and watch this promotion.
Watching this at at work 3 pm. Cosistency is key.
I’m stuck between Ibushi and Naito for this year winner
@The Ghost of Adam Cole you forgot Ospreay
What about Mox?
@@kennyomegapushcesaropushhe4184 Ospreay is still Junior Heavyweight. He'll have great performances for sure, but I doubt he'll win over all the heavyweights this year
Kenny Omega#PushCesaro#PushHero a good choice as well
@@kennyomegapushcesaropushhe4184 There is no way Mox wins. He won't be available for more shows once AEW starts on TNT.
I hope Will Ospreay wins this year's G1 , he's really entertaining to watch and has a spectacular talent.
mahmoud rezgui No chance, he’s a junior
Satoshi Kojima’s surprise win in 2010 was fucking godly, and brought Kojima home again. Seems like it wasn’t highlighted like I would have and it’s a shame it was forgotten in the history.
This 13 minute video is better than the last 5 years of WWE.
I love the recount series, great opportunity to look at history without the boring bits included.
Naito is going to win this year and wining the iwgp heavyweight champion at wrestle kingdom 14
No man the way things are heading I see okada vs white as wk main event, there storyline is similar to okada vs tana..... rainmaker shock, swictblade shock and then okada vs tana was then main event in wk
Nah. This is Ibushi's year.
@trojansfan87 why
@@joepod no g1 winner is never from the same block as champ mate okada and ibushi r in same block

I could watch the recount all day This will really make NJPW new fans that can jump in and learn the lore
For someone who doesn’t watch NJPW regularly these Recount videos are so helpful to understand what’s going on
Online Meet & Greet ticket sales have ended.
We will have a limited number of tickets available for wrestlers who are not sold out. Unfortunately, no more tickets will be made available for Tetsuya Naito. We thank you for your understanding.
Same day tickets will be available at the merchandise booth inside the lobby area.
G1 CLIMAX 29 kicks off in Dallas, TX and the top heavyweight wrestlers will be coming in for a Meet & Greet at the Bob Duncan Center in Arlington, TX.
Session 1: 2:00pm start
Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jyushin Thunder Liger, Tetsuya Naito, Tomohiro Ishii
Session 2: 3:30pm start
Kota Ibushi, Juice Robinson, SANADA, KENTA
Tickets to meet with your favorite wrestlers are $30 each.
2:29 that's how you count a pinfall !
07:16 : Jay White was so happy for Tanahashi's victory !
Haha oh the irony
Give Kota a heavyweight championship win already.
can't wait to watch my first G1
Well, you're in for a treat... Watched my first last year, damn that was a roller coaster every morning
This has to be the year of Kota Ibushi
He deserves a G1 Climax He deserves it more than anyone else
But what a introduction would it be if Kenta will win it
Jay White will beat Ibushi in the final
SANADA
And his 4th rematch against okada
@@AveLukas42 lol
@@tomjohnson8410 welp
I would really like for Minoru Suzuki to win this once in his career, but I'm really, really pulling for Ibushi. He's made a noticeable jump from Jr. Heavyweight to full fledged HW and his consistency and commitment to that should be rewarded.
Another great history recap! Thank you so much for this.
This is so great. Thank you so much for this!
Love the history lessons & throwback video clips
The G1 Climax is the most unpredictable this year... So many have the potential t be a winner.
yano will win.
Not that predictable, u only have 3 cannidets to win, Ibushi,Naito or Switchblade.
NJPW is unpredictable all year long but the G1, besides some surprises here and there the winner and finalist are easy to guess
Damn these videos are awesome!! The voice over is on point, these are honest, concise and look great! Keep up the good work on these videos! I cant wait for G1 now!
G1 will be fire this year. Cool vid as always man.
Holy hell, this might be the coolest, most informative thing I've seen.
i love these videos
i can not believe how good and well-made these videos are.
godddddd i love this series. i always watch old matches on njpw world, but since theres only Japanese commentary im only getting to enjoy the matches without any history or backstory. this series connects so many dots. i love kevin kelly. best commentator in wrestling today. so insightful and knowledgeable with facts about the history of new japan.
Awesome vid. Go NJPW!!!
I love the recount please keep them going thank you
4:10 Okada going on a "lengthy American excursion" is a nice way of putting it. TNA ruined him so badly, NJPW never worked with them ever again.
Man, I was just watched and was going to post a comment about that. I didn't know what he meant "lengthy American Excursion". I didn't know Okada ever wrestled outside Japan.
NJPW did send Taiji Ishimori back to IMPACT after he had already left the company (IMPACT). I suspect that we'll see some sharing of talent between NJPW and IMPACT later on this year, extending into 2020.
I can't wait for this Saturday 😩
Wow, I hope that this Ibushi fellow does well in the next two G-1 Climaxes, it would be nice if he got something on the board.
amazing! the recount is great!
I will be there in Dallas, my hometown tomorrow to see this amazing tourney kick off.
That Tana V Shinsuke match is top 3. So good.
Ibushi V White for G1 29 finals! Can’t wait!
My early predictions this year was for Ibushi (he was also my pick last year but lost to Tanahashi). Loved these videos and the extra focus on Ibushi at the end really feels like this is his year...gonna be real interesting on that last day of A Block...
I love NJPW
I wish there were more recounts because people trying to learn more about new Japan - this helps in SOOOO many ways
9:49
Omega could have shook his hand...
Poor ibushi 😂😂...
BTW Excellent narration by Kevin Kelly..
All hyped up for g1 this year!!
This is going to be good!
I love The Recount and wish these videos would happen more often. Would love to hear the full story of Suzuki-Gun, considering that tidbit that Commentary occasionally brings up about how they were exiled from NJPW for a couple of years. How did Suzuki become the maniac he is today??? That sounds like the kind of villain origin story that’s gotta be the “Killing Joke” of New Japan.
@2:28 Red Shoes had some hops!!!
Where’s part 3? I loved this. It was very informative
It's amazing
I LOVE NEW JAPAN! LOVE THIS SHIT!
L O V E The Recount. DO NOT STOP
what a great re-cap for all new and old NJPW fans.
Thanks NJPW, Thanks Kevin Kelly.
Like the honesty but pls do a junior heavyweight title series
Naito vs omega g1 final was one of the best match ever ! ♥
12:51 that how i walk in and out of work lol
good video
I fucking love this videos and the fact that NJPW admit they had a dark period.
I want to see more of the recount
Naito for the win!
I just love wrestling :)
J-ROCK singer Daigo Stardust Cameo at 2:05
whoaa everyone just loves tanahashi
We're pulling for you Ibushi!!!!!
I'm really pushing for KENTA this year 🙏
I can't wait for the tourney this year. Ibushi, my guy to win it all.
Don’t sleep on Jay White
I'm excited for the g1 tommorrow I'm gonna watch it I'm from Asia what time is it gonna air in the Philippine time thank you
Let's go Naito!
My predictions are:
A Block: Kota Ibushi
B Block: Tetsuya Naito
Kota Ibushi wins G1
My prediction is
A block: will ospreay
B block: tetsuya naito
A block: Sanada
B block: Naito
Good two parts but I do wish there'd have been a breakdown year by year going over the stories of each final instead of skipping some. I know that would have seriously lengthened the series but if any event in New Japan deserves a longish series on it's history it's certainly the G-1.
9:31 Favorite Destino of all time.Want to see him do it again
There needs to be more of this type of content for those that are not familiar with NJPW. The more iconic historical breakdowns you put out, the more fans you will incur, especially in foreign markets. Also, you absolutely NEED to put out a clean, well-polished app for NJPW World. Small things would do wonders. You're doing well, and on the right track by getting rid of garbage like Omega, but you need to keep up the offensive in the work that you're putting in across the board. Take your rightful place on the world stage.
7:48 cheeky little Naito
And ibushi got super nova and won G1 29
Naito for the win baby!
I'd never seen a reff leap that high for a three count in my life he must really like working therr
5:44 i always wanted to go the toyko dome
I really have a feeling Ospreay is gonna win A Block as a dark horse.
wvang0013 No chance
Ibushi, Tanahashi, Okada, SANADA, enough said
I wish they make a history of LIJ in recount
Kota ibushi is BODIED UP can’t BELIVE he was a junior 2 years ago for the CWC
私は約40年ぶりにプロレス再燃しました❤️
そしてその入口はタナ💕棚橋選手です❤️

They should do one of these by the decade
Part 2 whooo
Let’s go Naito! #TRANQUILO
The probable winner in this years G1 is Kota and Naito
But in my heart i want Ishii to win
Jay White will win by beating Ibushi in the final
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
Please Do
G1 climax Part 3
Let's go ibushi
If ibushi doesn’t win y’all better have one hell of a good reason and damn good story to go with it.
