I added a set of TV Jones pickups to a semi hollow I have - transformed the guitar from one I didn't play much to a go to guitar. Can't remember if I put the Plus or Powertrons (I think it might have been powertrons), but I remember I wanted something a little hotter than the classic. Go from a nice jangley tone to full on AC/DC crunch. The TV Jones site also has clips so you can pick which sound you're going for. As well as adapters and surrounds to fit their pickups to pretty much any guitar. Pricey, but a very nice pickup.
I have the Powertron and man, there are very loud. Maybe to much for edge of breakup tone with pedal. But handy if you only use valve pream saturation without pedal.
@@hugomartinez9635 Yeah I normally just plug into the amp and works well for me. If you're going to use peddles, you can always back off the pickup from the strings and turn down the gain of the pedal too.
Interesting. Seem to have a bit more power and mids than my Lollartrons. Gretsch-style toasters are a woefully underrepresented pickup type. Sooo good into Vox or Hiwatt-style amps. Perfect balanced between jangle and grind, fatness and clarity IMHO.
Great videos . If I may trouble you , if you still have the guitar , what is the measurement of the lower bout and the body thickness also is the third knob another tone like on a Strat ?
I know you were quite fond of your Palir Titan with the Lollartron moderns, I’m actually building a cabronita with those pickups, however I was wondering what your thoughts were on the TV Jones compared to the Lollars? Are they a relatively similar pickups or different beasts entirely? Cheers!
Yes, I have several Cabronita - Fenders - with TV Jones Pickups. Great guitars. This was my only one at the time. It was sold several years ago. Successfully.
These are my favorite pick ups and I often wonder if it had anything to do with the guitar they were in or how the previous owner chose to install the pick ups since the wiring is a bit unfamiliar, but this is the sound. I love this sound. More rockier bands should get turned on to these. Favorite distorted guitar sound!
I like the demo because this is how I use Filtertrons. Plenty of demos out there for the typical Gretsch rockabilly sound. A+
4:32 - an amazing Brian May tone! Smooth and rich and singing!
I love everything about this guitar :)
bloody awesome playing man!! Phwarrr

Awesome!!! Thanks for the fun!!!
Sounds awesome
Sounds great.
Gosh, what a beautiful tone!
Great looking guitar. I personally would have used a clean Fender tone. However, when you added the B1 pedal they really began to sing. Great video.
Great vid. So these pups can be bought with all wiring included, right? Thnxx brother ❤
That tone!!! Awesome!
Great playing and great sounding guitar!! 🤟🤟
Beautiful sound! My kind of tone!❤️ Congrats!
The closest I've ever come to an EVH tone was with a TV Jones classic in the bridge.
I want the whole guitar.
Yeeeaah! I reckon the Fender knockoffs in my Mexican Cabronita Tele are on borrowed time.
Thx for sharing the amp model too
Thinking of buying a Tele with these pick ups
I simply loooove this guitar, and I have tried to sell it several times ??
Top Sound guitar. Merci !
Sounds great 👍😊👍

Súper TV classic
What's the body and neck made out of? Rosewood board?
I know you're a rock guy, but it sure would be nice to hear more clean tones - especially with something like Filtertron style p'ups.
They sound like Powertron to me.
yeah it would have been nice to know which set were actually in it. bit pointless otherwise..
Your a fan of TV Jones? This is your only TV Jones equipt guitar and you've been trying (unsuccessfully) to sell it? Yea ok that makes sense!

Are these similar to the PUP's in Rickenbacker's?
No.
@@qddk9545 OK
I want this damn guitar! But as I recall, its rather pricey? Right?!
Gday burgs from just down the road Bonbeach
Afternoon, Mark. Enjoying the charming weather? :D
Brett Kingman it’s good UA-cam weather.. nice git and playing as always
Too dirty of a demo for filtertrons would have like to have heard them in a fender style amp.
Not true.
