E was the first drain gang project i ever really enjoyed - got me to understand the appeal and then go back into their history. lovely & humorous video on a great album!
Fun fact about Security is the melody is lifted from Mechatok's track 12 Years and interpreted for E. Theres a really solid mashup of the two that works really well.
A detail I felt I've noticed about E on the many times I've relistened in the past couple months is how in some places the love and drugs become one in the same. He expresses feelings about both of them being something that he keeps going back to, and is addicted to, no matter how hard he tries to tell himself he can control and regulate. He pleads for his lover not to take him back again the same way he falsely tells himself he can stop the drugs whenever he wants - he needs these things to stop for him because he cannot stop doing them himself. The phrase 'Love is a drug', has never felt clearer than on this record for me, and the duality of these lyrics is what has been so interesting for me as part of the listening experience. I’ve been struggling with drug addiction for several years now and this album has been the most accurate depiction of what it feels like and I always go back to it when I spiral. I’m so happy I found this music and this community, I love Ecco and all of you 🤍

I was kinda hoping you were gonna talk about the bonus track Life After Life. It's my personal favorite track off e and I gotta say how it changes the ending really struck a chord in me.
blue eyes is really bittersweet in a way, like the sun coming up after a long and painful night and finally you can let it all go, but it still hurts to do so. crazy thing with blue eyes that even though there's a lot of screaming and sad lyrics, you feel like ecco should be angry or sad but you can hear that he's smiling during his screams
I randomly found this album on UA-cam and after a couple days of it seeing it in my recommended, I finally clicked on it because it just looked so interesting. When I listened to it my mind was blown the entire time. It was also perfect timing because I was dealing with addiction at that time and this just felt like such a perfect expression of those emotions.
i saw ecco open for yves tumor in la and met him behind the venue after the show where he was greeting fans, i dont think ive ever like joyfully bawled my eyes out before that night😭, i got to hug him and tell him how much his music has saved me and he was so kind and understanding and gave all his attention to me, e is literally my favorite album of all time, like words cant even describe it, it's an adventure but its so emotionally intimate, it feels unsatisfied but yet what it's expressing couldn't be expressed better, it's like one of those powerful dreams that you think about all day the next day because of how overwhelming and new it made you feel, like i could literally go on and on forever it's just straight up a masterpiece

Hey man, I know these artists are completely unrelated to DG and stuff, but I think you should check out/look into Black Money Boyz Deathrow, Even tho they have disbanded, I feel like they’ve definitely pioneered a new sound for the underground Notable Producers/Artists: KRXXK Loko Los SpaceGhostPurrp Sayda CHXPO + Many more It would be really interesting to see a video on these guys and what you think about them

Good video. I'm ngl, I'm not that crazy about e as I am about GTBSG era Ecco, but it's still a really pretty album that I like a lot. Art pop Ecco is cool but my heart lies with shit like HOLDMEDOWNLIKEGRAVITY or his verse on eBay.
