On trams, Poland (and the rest of Eastern Europe including East Germany) didn't dismantle their trams at all. We dismantled ours in the 50s and early 60s and people could afford to buy cars here, Poland couldn't afford to get rid of the trams and Polish people couldn't afford cars till much later so by the time trams became fashionable again, pretty much every Polish town and city still has trams whilst we had lost them and had little will to bring them back beyond a small number of cities like Croydon, Manchester and Sheffield. The only place in Poland I have visited was Szczecin/ Stettin (similar in size to Coventry) and I remember the trams being really extensive, really impressive historic buildings everywhere, it being fairly clean and it being so cheap. 10 years ago, the idea of Poland and similar countries being better places to live than Britain was hard to imagine, whereas now we have declined so much, I can well believe it. Polish people used to migrate here, how long will it be till this reverses and we migrate to Poland instead? Austerity and Brexit broke us!

Haha, loved the Leeds comparison even though it saddens me cos i have a personal connection with the trams that used to run in Leeds. They do trams very well in Europe, i can live without the need for a car in many cities.

Great video, the only thing I would add is that if you are working and are doing a decent job in Poland you don't earn the minimum wage levels - you are earning more like UK wages minus 20 / 30%. This kind of changes the dynamics - with lower costs of livings you are significantly better off. The other side of this that has not been mentioned - public safety- you can can go anywhere at any time and crime etc is very rare - basically its a very safe country.

I would strongly disagree about the better living and people being able to spend money on more things, the main problem is that the government is giving away more money to people as social help, money for children and many more, this causes housing and grocery prices to go up, and as a person living in Warsaw it is rough as hell, recently we have seen rise of prices as high as up to 200% and our inflation is skyrocketing, however our cities and transportation systems are beautiful and that’s true, So there are pros and cons of living in our contry.
Wishing all the best for everyone from Warsaw 🙂‍↕️

Brexit is not all why the UK is currently in a sorry state of affairs, socialism is.
In the late 1940s when the American government decided to dump aid money on Western Europe, Clement Atlee, and the Labour-Conservative establishment decided to spend the money on "welfare", and limiting the growth of Birmingham such as developing the "Green Belt" unlike in other Western-European countries like West Germany who spent the money on subsidising industries and building new infrastructure.
The difference with the massive growth of Poland in the past 34 years, is that since the end of Communism, Socialism has largely been reversed, they don't suffer from as high taxes and overly restrictive planning laws, this is all helped with massive funding from the European Union, which will probably be helped with their new president (Donald Tusk) having been formerly been a higher-up in the EU.
If the UK acted more like Singapore, Switzerland, or Liechtenstein in terms of economics (i.e. low taxes, low-business regulations), as was promised by prominent "Brexiteers" like Nigel Farage, then I'd bet the UK would be much better off than it currently is, but alas as the political class chose to stick with "Austerity" (High Taxes, Low Growth, no non-political growth in government spending), so it is unlikely to ever be fixed.
Oh, and Fruit Pickers can be automated, we don't all need to think like "BUT WHO WILL MAKE MY COFFEE IN PRET?" - A left-wing pro-Open Borders lady on BBC Question Time last year (I forget the exact date).
I will also add that the UK has been for a short while now the fastest growing economy in the G7 group of countries.

So, i'm actually living in Poland for my whole life. And it's not so good actually. It is very simular to the UK, Germany is even better! I would list out what's screwd up in Poland but there is so much i'm too lazy to type everything in the comments.

well poland is still in the EU...thats one thing...but that aside i have to agree with you very much, poland used to be the place you sold your car to from germany if it was old and couldnt make tüv, because they couldnt afford nicer cars, nowadays thats not the case at all anymore, i am proud of our neighbor.

Why Poland is better than UK 🇬🇧 cause the old Trains and Trams are so nice, the UK has not so much old train left.
But only 1972 Stock, 1973 Stock and 1992 Stock is better.
Poland Warsaw has the old Metro train left 81-717.

You could say that, but polish people aren't really racist or anything, u can be black or Asian; we don't care as long as you respect our country, law and culture; which on the other side Muslims have really hard time to adapt to😅 but if you'll read a little bit about history u will understand why outside of that, we hate everyone equally, even ourselves😂

Its not looking promising so far. It was expected that Kier Stammer would be very slow and do the minimum effort needed, but he has been worse than expected so far. There is still many years for him to improve things, so we will have to wait and see. I was very unhappy with his EU reset speeches, where he offered pretty much nothing. He has ruled out rejoining the single market which is disgusting. I am just hoping that the EU fingerprint taking will cause enough public outcry that it will force him to properly engage is making a better agreement with the EU, which effectively means rejoining the single market. At the moment the best we can hope for is some real that is rejoining in all but name. It will probably have some nationalist name like "Britain is great and strong trade relation new reset EU agreement", which is simply rejoining but not calling it that.
