I'll keep watching and supporting you no matter what with one exception. I'll never watch if you're playing with dod even though it's probably for show he's such an egotistical jerk period.
H - I ❤ this and found it an enjoyable watch - you and Tig post 86’s under these conditions. You guys are better than me but it makes it all much more relatable and makes me not want to get down about my own game when things don’t go well. Keep grinding and posting HG !
Hi Henry! I feel like YT golf is all about filming these kind of matches to be shared with the rest of us. Many of us wouldn't be exposed to experiences such as a US Open Qualifier otherwise. Keep up the great work!
You are the freakin man Henry, for posting this and laughing about it. Really good shortgame and all around good player. Looking forward to all the content coming, excited for this channel
Your in a slump you should have been shooting even par ever since that match with that little troll who by the way smoked you you've gone up to a ten handicap like Garrett 😂😂😂
Looking forward to more vids Henry. You have now learned how to process those gitters and nerves. As you age those will fade away and you will focus on just performing. Thanx for sharing sir, and looking forward to more tourneys from you.
Henry keep your head up, it happens to the best of them. The more tournaments you play, the better you will finish. We have faith in you, and give you a lot off credit for posting this round.
We’ll I’ll tell you this. Community will respect your integrity. This was an introduction to me about your game. Clearly you’re massively better than this. But says a lot about your character to be able to post it. Well done and best of luck.
Yo, new to your channel. Really was excited to find after seeing the collaboration with Grant and others. Truly appreciate the content and commentary that goes with them. Keep the videos coming.
From someone that sometimes deletes his 18 Birdies round versus saving at the end, I appreciate the video. Golf is hard, really really hard. Much respect for you sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly. One thing about all of us golfers, no matter our level or handicap, we all have our great days and days where we wonder why we even keep playing. Keep grinding, keep the chin up, and I really love the channel. Peace
You might be my new favorite UA-cam golfer Henry. I’m glad you took a break from golf after that 86. I’m on a similar break right now. When it stops being fun you gotta step away for a little while and learn to love it again. ❤
Henry! You are awesome my friend. A lot of people will either when they are forced into the shadows of their friends. Much respect my friend for living your dream and doing what it takes. Mad respect.
Posting this you have well and truly earned my subscription. There was a lot of really good shots here and some truly terrible ones, just not enough in between. It’s such a truism that the most important part is how bad your bad shots are. Limiting the damage would have given you a very decent score because most of the time you were scrambling well.
playing with friends and playing under pressure are two different things. And today you learned that. Keep playing more, the more tournament golf you play the more the better you will get at it.
Henry sometimes golf just happens. Keep on looking at the bright side. You made it to that point which is alot to say. Looking forward to more videos. Love the channel and the content.
Eventhough on a much lower level of golf skills, I can fully empathize with what you were going through. It might have been hard to post that video, but I guess doing it was also a relief. Once the worst has happened, the next tournaments will be much more relaxed I guess. Just keep it going!
Henry, curious who taught you your swing action ? It's an uncommon yet very effective movement, you get the club loaded very early on the back swing causing you to be very compact/connected and don't ever run risk of over-swinging, essentially having more control. I think once you have consistent timing/rhythm, you're a top contender for these qualifying tournaments and beyond.
Dude LOVE this video. Its relatable. Of COURSE you wanted to medal. Of course we want to shoot a smooth 65 and get out like nothing happened. Bro... this happens to everyone. Thanks for bringing your content. Loved your effort and mindset. Your game is trending. Hoping your season goes well
Been playing for over 30 years since I was 12 (lots of junior golf and HS golf when younger). Those tournament nerves never die….some rounds, it just feels like you’re cursed and could’ve played a better round with a damn 8 iron off the tee.
I recently lowered my handicap enough to play in a qualifier for my state amateur championship. This was my first ever golf tournament. I made par on 11 of the holes and birdie on 1 of the holes. I shot 86. Feel ya dog. Hard to put into words what happened but my spirits were up the entire time. Learned alot that day.
I hope you keep working on your game and try qualifying as much as you can. I like your game. Your swing seemed quicker than I remember from all your other videos I've watched. Especially your down swing. But then again what do I know lol.
We’ve all been there, Henry. When you wanna do so we’ll so badly and you just don’t have it and the course seems to pulling against you and no part of your game is working. So, where did you go eat?
Many many years ago I bowled in the High Roller tournament in Vegas. Never once did I feel like I belonged in that tournament, but I did it anyway. I was so nervous in my first two matches and I won them. The second match had basically all of NY there rooting for their guy and I edged him out. In the 3rd match (this one was for the $$) I had a considerable lead late in the match and I felt comfortable finally. My nerves went away, I was totally calm and I finally felt like "I got this". That's where it all went wrong, I got sloppy and he finished strong. I lost that match. So I can relate to how you were feeling. The nervousness keeps you sharp and focused and sorta keeps ya from making those careless swings. You've got the game, just get more tournament reps and give it a go next year. 😎
Henry…cheer up…I’ve been there…KEEP ENTERING ANY SIMILIAR TOURNEMENTS…!…only way those jitters will go away is by doing it…you’ll be fine…you have the game…now … be NEO … and believe…
Hey Henry, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
Tournament ready golf is a THING, ask Tiger!! Knowing how good TIger is and how difficult it can be even for him to compete in a tournament setting really says a lot about the mindset you need to be ready! If you want to succeed at that level the only thing that will help is playing MORE tournaments, play until it seems just like another day on the course!
I’ve been there before more than once. But when you only played 7 tourneys last 7 years hard to expect much. Can’t get the same nerves in a typical regular round. I have my qualifier this upcoming Tuesday hoping to just go shot by shot don’t think too deep into it. I’ve been playing ALOT of tourneys and it’s starting to show finally
Once you get behind and must force things it rarely gets better. So far I have only seen you and Luke Peavy try to qualify. It definitely takes guts to try and even more to post a video of a bad day. And like you said, if it was known even par was the goal your mind could have been much different.
lol..my first time I played in us open qualifyer, wow, the week before the open, they let me play a pratice round, well the rough was 2" deep, the greens were like 7 or 8 stemp...and I shot a 75..so the day to play, the rough was 5" deep and the greens were stemp 12...wow like putting on concrete...I ended up shooting 77 my first time..
This is Golf.... I have never shot under par in my life and have been playing since 1987. Last year I started off with a birdie on the first three holes in a row!! How did I finish? + 2... and that is Golf..
I see a really good round if golf being played here. When you are in such a big event, and you hit that place where your brain tells you that you wont win, but you have to finish. What do you feel that does to you game, or do you have a mental exercise to block those thoughts out?
You may not have scored like a professional, but you managed yourself and played like a pro. Golf is just one of those sports that can git ya some days.
well...where did you stop - Chipotle or Chik-fil-A? Whenever I had something really bad happen at work, a milkshake at Chik-fil-A always made me feel better...
Bowling is another sport where you can sign up for a major. Except you don't even need a high enough average. All you need is an average and be one of the first ones to sign up and pay for your spot
I think frazzled was an apt description Hendry . I have seen you play well on youtube ,there is always another round . Concentrate on the breathing to calm the stress and grind away . This post is from a hacker so take no heed .👍
It seems to me that guys like you and Micah don't do well in tournament situations not because of bad shots but because of bad decisions. You're very good around the greens. If you just give yourself consistent opportunities to hit the greens in regulation that would shave a lot of strokes off of your score. Even if you miss the greens you usually save par. But if you're hitting your par shot with a fairway iron there's not much of a chance you'll save par or even bogey.
I tell u what ... I know it's hard but I'd take out from it that u were playing so well through 8 holes .... I think maybe if you'd known that your target was even par than it may have been a different story as you wouldn't have been so down on yourself so early and thinking you need to be perfect etc.. anyways thanks for posting !!
This was a really tough day on the course but we’ll bounce back.
Where did you play your college golf
I was at Kilgore JR. College Texas 1996 1998
I'll keep watching and supporting you no matter what with one exception. I'll never watch if you're playing with dod even though it's probably for show he's such an egotistical jerk period.
Keep going Henry you got skills

I love your attitude out there, even with shooting a high score. No swearing or throwing clubs, that’s something to be proud of and admired.
9th hole he threw his driver ! 😂😂
He hit a duckhook .
@@BartG87- I’ll give him a mulligan. 😂

Not really a throw. A drop…

I really appreciate how real this is. Thanks for being open and honest as you talked it through.
Fuck it, Dude, let's go bowling.
So much respect for Henry after this video, subscribed and will support you in every little way I can
Props to you for posting. Keep up the good stuff.
Looking forward to more vids Henry. You have now learned how to process those gitters and nerves. As you age those will fade away and you will focus on just performing. Thanx for sharing sir, and looking forward to more tourneys from you.
Legacy is a great track and you had it going into 17. Nice to see you there and would love to host you again soon. No matter what, you kept it classy!
Henry keep your head up, it happens to the best of them. The more tournaments you play, the better you will finish. We have faith in you, and give you a lot off credit for posting this round.
This is awesome Henry. Good on you for posting it, a lot of people wouldn't. People need to see how tough tournament golf is.
You have a fan here from Canada regardless, your attitude and swing deserve a larger following..⛳🇨🇦
Appreciate showing this. You gained XP for next year. Heart rate talk brings back great torunament memories.
It was a great experience for you. We learn from our mistakes and move forward. On to the next Qualifier.
Your driver swing changed my game forever! I hit twice as many fairways from just trying to mimic your driver swing.
respect for posting and your honesty, you build off this Henry
We’ll I’ll tell you this. Community will respect your integrity. This was an introduction to me about your game. Clearly you’re massively better than this. But says a lot about your character to be able to post it. Well done and best of luck.
Great learning experience so you can do better next time. Keep at it Henry.

I like you talking Bryce Parker under your wing. I really like his channel. You two guys are great additions to You Tube Golf.
Henry! You are awesome my friend. A lot of people will either when they are forced into the shadows of their friends. Much respect my friend for living your dream and doing what it takes. Mad respect.
Takes guts to show this Henry. Can’t buy integrity and you are rich in it my friend. Cheers.
Cheers to you for even posting this round. There’s other content creators *cough* Micah *cough* that won’t post their bad rounds. Keep grinding, Hen!
Thanks for the post!!! 🤙
Mad respect for giving it a shot Henry! You are my new favorite UA-cam golfer! Keep it up.
This is so great sharing. Keep it up mate👍👏

Tournament golf is a completely different animal than UA-cam golf. There’s real nerves, real consequences, real pressure.
playing with friends and playing under pressure are two different things. And today you learned that. Keep playing more, the more tournament golf you play the more the better you will get at it.
Thanks for posting. All good man. Keep competing!
New to the Chanel. Bro that’s rough. But we learn the most about ourselves through adversity. Keep playing tournaments, keep the grind going
Henry sometimes golf just happens. Keep on looking at the bright side. You made it to that point which is alot to say. Looking forward to more videos. Love the channel and the content.
Takes balls to post this, chin up brother 💪🏼🤜🏽

I’ve seen you play, and this round is not indicative of how I seen you play. Good for you that you posted this. We all know how you feel.
Hang in there buddy. You'll be fine.
GIve it another try!!! Try to beat this score...love this content!!

Isn’t it amazing how we put so much importance on our golf game during a tournament? If we could only not care, we could play so much better.
Sorry this happened to you but keep your head up bud. You’re a great golfer and an even better person. Stay strong, Henry 💪
Big respect for playing in a real competition 👍🏻 and showing what can happen in this insane game of golf 🙈
Huge courage to play in the event *and* post this video. Your short game is pretty good we can all see that. Keep working hard ! @Henrygrillo
All good bro. Some people got that gene and some don't. Don't let it get ya down. Keep golfing.
USGA should make every golfer watch this before playing pro golf. Class act HG!
Keep plugging 🤙🏼
Had me cracking up when you said made birdie on our second ball, which means a bogey.
You need to try again, Henry!!

bounce back kid!

Tough look against the DOD King and in this tournament.
If you weren't a tee using weasle you may have had a chance. 😂😂😂
No baby can born walking nor running, experience plays a huge role in this kinda situation, just hang on n grind it out, u will come out alright kid!
I am so absolutely horrible at casual golf that I think I might be better at tournament golf.

get some width on that backswing brother
Hang in there bro,it's always B player for the win, been there done that 😂
You can also qualify in chess.

Lab putter doing work tho
The reality of golf. You have a better game than you showed here. But you will have rounds like this from time to time. You will bounce back.
