Just today I saw it on Amazon because I have exactly started a small aquarium like you have there, but I will have to drain it for the same situation that I can't keep it running with evaporation. So until I can buy that device. Thank you very much for the review, it arrived just on time. 😎👍
Thanks yes a very useful little device. I am wondering I use my auto doser can I drain the tank with that and refill with the ATO and automatically waterchange my nano
I have this ato, but I personally would seal all of the seams of the optical sensor with superglue or silicone. Sometimes it gets water inside. Other than that, reliable for your buck 👍🏼
I bought this. Thanks for the review. What do I do when I do water changes in my reef tank? I have it in the overflow but when I do water changes the water level drops below the censor. Do I unplug it?
Nice! But with 6 tanks id need to buy 6 of those ato's. Maybe its gonna work with just one sensor and splitting the line to other tanks. Water evaporation should be the same in all tanks.
How has this held up being used to do water changes? It says it’s supposed to learn how big your aquarium is based on how long it takes to refill and that it shuts off the pump if it runs for 6 times longer than normal. Seems to me a water change would trip this thing up vs a small top off from evaporation. I’m looking for something exactly like this to trickle water back in large tank with shrimp which cannot be tds shocked. Was planning on putting a small ball valve on water supply to slow it down..
Am thinking of using this with a drip siphon to do auto water changes. Set the siphone just below the auto top off so that it does not break the siphon. Have an empty and a full (clean salt water) below the tank as i run my tank on a canister. Does anyone think this may be viable?
Even though you’re removing salt water there’s still and replacing with salt water your salinity will go through the roof over time because it’s still evaporating all the time. You just won’t see it.
My speakers arent working so I cant hear what you are saying. Do oyu shut it off doing a waterchange? Where do you install the check switch? Is the check switch another failsafe feature to prevent overfilling? If so then it would have as many fail safe as the highly coveted tunze! I have the magtool duetto but thinking of getting this for other tank andmaybe even returning the magtool as there are no videos on installation but one and he hooked up the check switch slightly above the pump in the reservoir which judging by magtools diagram it should be above water in reservoir

Great to hear
Enjoyed the video mate. Not something I'd use currently but good to know your video is there if it's something I'm looking at later. 👍

you can get all the clear products you want in prison 😆

They have resin inside them
Any idea of you could hook up a larger pump for a reservoir that’s located a floor below the tank? Great vid - thanks!

Yea definitely turn it off because it will fill the tank with freshwater and ruin your salinity
This way you will pump in saltwater over time while it's operating. Or do you turn it off when you don't do a water change?
It will but I 100% wc every two weeks so it doesn't make a difference really

Doesn’t work like that

Works well for water changes
I have 3 macro Algae tanks
Great Review. Is that nano tank supported underneath because that chipboard looks like it's gona give way lol
Yeah lol it got a bit of a wonk to it, but it's supported haha
My dd ato only tops upto the bottom sensor not to the middle of both
Hi what size is the airline tube I need to replace it many thanks.
Normal air line size I think 2mm
The water pipe should be above the water because if it is in the water it returns back when it stops to pumping up
There's a one way valve on the box to prevent this

You may want to level that tank.

Trick is to say it loudly while holding the item in your hand. It's all about the start of the relationship.
These green ones are GARBAGE... mine and a friend's overflow the sumps.
