Whale and I've stopped playing both HI3 and Genshin. The root of the problem is Hoyoverse, their practices, and what they allow the Genshin team to do. Still playing HI3 would just tell Cai and Hoyoverse what they're doing is acceptable so long as they have other games that are good at the moment.

I added a couple more things from the comments on another video: -Make weekly boss material runs repeatable more than just once a week -Make talent/weapon ascension mats farmable regardless of which day of the week it is. -Mechanic to craft your own artifact with main stat of your choice, like HSR does (self modeled resin). And to that, I'd also add that you can increase the chance for at least 2 substats that you pick to appear. -Add 5* weapons to the shop, like HSR does. Skyward blade, jade spear, jade cutter, skyward harp, aquila favonia etc etc. -Actual buff indicators with cooldowns. -One day birthday banners, meaning a character can be pulled on their birthday as well, so there's no need to wait until a character gets a rerun -1 standard wish given every day on login I do think the last one may be a bit much, but it's worth a try.

I just leveled to ar56 and had a look at the rewards,and I was SO DAMN DISAPPOINTED that it doesn't give you any primogems,only ar60 gives primogems and it's only 150,like WTF were they thinking while making adventure ranks and basically all their rewards systems?!?!? It's so damn TRASHY,like how TF is a luxurious chest giving such little rewards and nothing special/unique too?!?!? Genshin is the first game to make luxurious and precious chest not so rewarding. Genshin needs competition. You can complain all you want, but if the game is still the best in it's genre they have no incentive to improve cause people won't leave in favor of another game. I hope Wuthering waves will provide such competition
May I make a suggestion. So now that the whole CC civil war has ended ,I have an idea of how to spread the message for change more effectively. Even though it is great that a lot of CC's have a made at least one video on the matter it is simply NOT ENOUGH. So what about a spam spree. Basically ,my idea is that every content creator who is vocal about the matter should release a video a day, it can be as short as a minute so long as it fits their capacity, with the appropriate hastags and list of things we demand. So imagine when you type genshin on UA-cam it eventually becomes nothing but a spree of demands for change. Eventually other people will notice and hopefully it will become big news. I agree with your standpoints but there is one tiny nitpick I have. What will we achieve if we don't play Genshin and go for Star Rail instead? It's all under same umbrella so not playing genshin and instead going for an other game of theirs will not hurt them in the long run. If we want to make a message clear we should boycot all their games. not just one of their games.
it's not the entirety of hoyoverse who is at fault and the HSR devs has nothing to do with genshin's bs, it's really just all the genshin team under the leadership of cai haoyu. I think we can still send a clear message by supporting the game that treat their players good compared to their other game that just treat it's players as nothing more than cash cows and free marketing. even if it's all hoyo games each department/team still competes with each other from what I've heard.

Nah. The open world is…open…but there’s nothing in it except mobs and the typical easter eggs- oculuses, chests, etc. Once you get those there’s never a reason to go back except mindless wandering. If you ever played something like Fallout 3, you’ll understand the difference between a good open world and an open world.

Reading the comments, it makes me SO happy to see people are stopping spending. Even if it's just for one or two months, IT MATTERS. Even if they just used to spend 15 USD, IT MATTERS. I'm proud that people are starting to listen. If only a small portion of people spend money, it will impact their earnings. I am in mexico and I consume a lot of genshin content in english. I'm not the only one, I can guarantee that.
Bro you guys do not get it do you. The only people who stopped spending for a boycott = maybe 1% of genshin profits. If you guys think your little "boycott" is working then you do not understand Asia. They do not care about your little acts of rebellion they will still spend. Gacha games make the majority of their money in Asia. Even if all of the west stopped spending money its maybe less than 25% of their revenue. Why do you think there are A LOT more gacha games in asia than in the West. Hoyoverse could close genshin to the west and lose no sleep. If there is one thing HSR is worse than Genshin is just and JUST the relic system there. You can't have an off piece. But they compensate with the self model. And somehow I got more build character relic sets in HSR and yet I played Genshin much longer.

I stopped spending money before 4.3 banner. It’s just recent and it’s the first time that I didn’t buy BP and even buy welkin and genesis crystals. I also didn’t buy Ganyu/Shenhe skins. The Lantern Rite Event was disappointing. I’ve been playing for years and the rewards are just sad.
I personally feel like genshin players need to try other games just to see how shit genshin's design decisions really are. It took them THREE YEARS before they revolt when it should have been a year when the first anniversary rolled out. I just can't sympathize. Every time I see the boycott post, all I can think is "Oh so NOW you want change? Where was all this outrage back then? I thought we all should be grateful for all the rewards, right? It's better than nothing, right?" And then Star Rail comes out and completely bursts their bubbles. I already gave up LONG before any of this shitshow. Right now, I only play genshin for the archon quests. Once I finish it, I'm back to playing games that actually RESPECTS their players.

You SHOULDN'T forget that Hoyo makes Star Rail as well as Genshin. You can't boycott Genshin - you have to boycott Hoyo, which means it's not a smart idea to go play Hoyo's OTHER game. You need to drop Hoyo games entirely if you're really determined to push Hoyo to change its overall practices.
That logic doesn't really track, though - I mean, it would if Hoyoverse were being stingy in all three Gacha on the market, but it's not. HI3 and HSR players, myself included, have felt fairly satisfied with our experience: minus the Xianzhou arc.. which they clearly took to heart with the Penacony arc. Why should we drop support for HSR and HI3 when it's only Genshin Impact these having these problems? If we don't play the same game then it's not our fight. It's your fight.

this guy is high on copium calling those sells numbers on the new banners fake when we have been using them for years. the truth is the CN players had a problem with the three wishes not the 4.4 patch but the Genshin CC made it about genshin as a whole. they have never complain about the endgame which genshin has multiple kinds of more then star rail but i do agree on more QOL. what he doesn't know is he isn't helping the problem by telling others to just play star rail or a different hoyo game. hoyoverse doesn't care where you play as long as your playing their games. the problem i see is rewards like those three wishes i 100% bet if genshin gave out five stars during anniversary and 10 pulls every patch no one would be complaining. the truth is people played other gacha got all that free shit and expect genshin to do the same which is a logical fallacy. your already playing the game, and the updates for free but while you can't get all weapons and characters for free if you spend your in-game currency right you can get the units you want for free able to get one five star every patch. the only way to change genshin is to stop spending money but that failed because what these UA-camrs who complain don't tell you is they are the loud minority a very small number of players. hoyoverse other games are proof if there was a problem with genshin they fix it
What’s crazy to me is the lengths this player base has to go through with Hoyo just get equal treatment as HSR and HI3, GAMES CREATED BY THE SAME DAMN COMPANY. It speaks volumes to me that they could implement so many significant changes with so little effort and they just refuse to listen. Goes to show you how much Hoyo values us as consumers.
I gave myself an ultimatum with Genshin a while back. I wouldn't touch the game again until they made significant changes. If they could provide what I was wanting to Star Rail, then they could do QoL updates and be a little more friendly and generous with the general playerbase. I was burned out on it being RNG simulator on drugs. RNG for rolling for characters/weapons. RNG in rolling for artifacts. RNG in rolling stats for artifacts. RNG with rewards overall from doing content. You could get a "lowest amount" of something you're aiming for from domains. I get it, it keeps people playing. Letting us customize or lock in stats on artifacts or being able to choose a character to roll for like the weapon banner, maybe adding epitomized path to the standard banner...there are so many things which can make the game feel less predatory or just more fun. I stopped even watching the story progression through content creators a year ago. I've enjoyed the gameplay, and was severely unlucky with rolling for artifacts and materials for upgrading the characters/weapons/talents and their artifacts. It's horrific how unlucky a person can get. I wasn't even aiming for perfect artifacts. Even just having decent 4 star artifacts would have been fine for me, something that would encourage me to get even better at playing the characters I had and optimizing rotations and whatnot. The game has good and bad points, and for me the bad just stacked up on my mindset toward the game to a breaking point and I knew it was unhealthy for me to continue, which is why I'm not playing anymore. I won't play again until they make significant change. They need to earn my time, as well as apparently a lot of other peoples', because it's obvious there are a lot of people unhappy with the game. A repeat of the first anniversary? I wasn't surprised, wasn't expecting it either. The response from the Chinese playerbase did surprise me. Now that people have a blatant comparison with Star Rail, people are able to reason out how predatory and scummy the company's viewpoint is on Genshin. I hope that people stop throwing money at them and stop playing and seriously show them that they messed up. I know I'm not alone in wanting the game to be treated better. It has so much potential. I told them in every survey and review they sent links to in the in game mail what I thought about everything, and what I hoped for. They never listened to me before, so I lost hope. My hope is almost returning that maybe there's hope in the future of the game. I'm not touching anything Hoyo right now, not Genshin, Not Honkai, even if I want to play Star Rail, I don't want to touch it to send them the message that they need to treat players better. I don't care about the gifts or anniversary awards or whatever. I just want the game to feel better and not like I have to throw hundreds of dollars at it in order to feel stronger in the game. I just want it to not take forever or a grind prior to release of a character to make a character feel strong, and I want there to be QoL for new players. Take out some of the RNG, let us control our path to being stronger. Oh, and give us endgame content outside of the abyss which encourages players to actually be better at the game. Seriously, people have wanted it for so long.
So the issue I'm seeing is that you self imposed a grind and decided it was a flaw of the game that's more focused on Horizontal Progression over Vertical Progression If your take away of the game and focus is making Characters stronger then the core experience is not something your interested in In General this isn't like PGR or Honkai Impact or your typical Gacha your not going to be rewarded for over investing in power To be frank I don't think anything beyond blatant Powercreep and MMO Style Tactics will address your issue because you have to first understand that as a player you already have an advantage against the enimeies So unless your looking for ToF style 50 life bars I don't think the game will give you the justification you need to keep grinding It's not a flaw that Genshin doesn't feed into its Gacha nature people enjoy Genshin because they don't feel incentive to do what your doing And realistically you had decent peices the bar for decent isn't high and no End Game justifies the need to go that deep into the artifact system So it's legitimately Player Brain that's telling you to go crazy and get Powerful OP characters which I honestly think there are games that fill that itch Palworld implores all the Skinner Box gameplay or PGR for a semi satisfying Gameplay with just the occasional Power Creep

In response to certain responses... What I ask of the game is literally things which would inconvenience nobody but devs of the game, and even then it's just quality of life. I love a game with a lot of content to get lost in, so if the game improves where I want it to improve, I would gladly return. The only regret I'd have in not being around the whole time, is missing events if they never make those available through DLC or whatnot. I could get the lore from checking out channels which archive the events, so no huge loss, just items which are whatever to me. What I ask of the game is to improve the functions within the game to a standard within the very next game in their company which is currently available to us as players. If it's horrible to ask them to bring a standard of QoL to a previous title, then I think things are seriously grim. Genshin is a game with several levelling systems to interact with. I love that sort of thing in a game, interacting with those, making the characters stronger and enjoying the combat experiences made possible in the game through making the characters stronger. When there's a large throttle on the strength dynamic through RNG of even getting the main stat you want on an artifact, there's an issue with the game's quality of life. What I meant by decent is purely in the main stat, and I've gone months at a time without getting an artifact with the main stat I wanted for a character. Such a thing is an RNG factor. Getting unlucky for that long is possible. So, giving an opportunity to potentially craft an artifact into having the main stat I want would only be beneficial. There are some people who no-life grind the artifacts and enjoy it, but the people who do enjoy it are far fewer in number than the people who detest there being RNG in **everything**. Yes, it is a gacha game. Yes, they want to make money through systems in the game. They could very well still make a lot of money and function perfectly fine even if they cut out a source like whaling on domains for months to get the perfect artifact. They make so much money off of character and weapon whaling, and there would still be plenty of whaling for artifacts even with a change to the RNG within the artifact system. Making the RNG a little more friendly for everyone would literally only give more time to players who like to play multiple games, more time to play other games as well. I get enjoying a game as it is, but not seeking improvement in which everyone would enjoy is negligence. Fighting improvement and quality of life adjustments which might bring people back to the game would disrupt nobody. Adding an endgame challenge for people who love the strength building systems, an endgame which will persist for the full duration of the game instead of resetting the spiral abyss - it would only benefit the game overall. Arguments against improvement mean wanting the game to grow stale. If the only thing you want out of the game is story, then perhaps they should cut out all of the levelling and weapon systems and just have character rolling. Oh, but that would cut off a lot of reasons people might spend and make the company money. Talk sense to me, or you'll just waste more of your time. I will not respond to people who don't seek improvement. If you love the game so much, why wouldn't you want more people to enjoy it? Why wouldn't you want people to continue playing the game and providing the chance for more types of content to enjoy within the game? If you can't provide a decent answer, then you're just wasting time. I will not waste my time on Genshin if they never improve to a standard they within their own company have already done in Star Rail. Star Rail also has a type of gameplay I thoroughly enjoy. I would love to play it. But I don't want to interact with Hoyo until they improve Genshin. I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on the game just to not be heard for two years of me playing the game near every day. I would sooner give up the game entirely and consider it dead, than encourage negligent behavior and disrespect to the community as a whole from a head of the project. Two people already having responded to me with defending a company rather than wanting improvement which would only make the game a better experience, just goes to show how ignorant some of the playerbase currently is.
heres the thing that i see many people is expecting. that the boycott will result in a immediate change most likely in 4.5. for me that is not the case and having to set that expectation will just result in people thinking the boycott didnt work. genshin's update is premeditated and it is planned 3 updates after the current one. this is backed up by leaks and codes that the leakers provided. i think having to expect immediate change will make the community more hopeful but once another update that is the same shit. people will think the boycott doesnt do shit. what i would advise people is just dont spend and play less because genshins business model is to hook you up with dailies and events that will make you "miss" something and people need to think that this boycott will result to something but not immediately

my main issue with games (not just genshin) is the fact that they are repetitive this is consistent with most games. and i feel games like Honkai have more variety making it better for the long run

Last time, I ranting about the bad thing on Genshin like QOL on skip button, no endgame content, lack of reward on my Local Genshin community group. The funny thing is too many white knights defending like "this is not game for you" "if you don't like it don't play it" "you complain so much why not making a game for yourself" "your opinion does not matter" “is your problem not mine" etc. But that post already delete from the admin lol. I'm also ex white Knight on early days. But now I realize bacause of burnout and lack of content given. The big blow that makes me realize more when the reward for 3 fate only announced. I felt the dev not appreciate me enough after thousands of money I pour on this game. I hope from my post could give some realization for some players don't simply blindly defending the game. We complain because we are not hating the game but because we love the game.

The thing about Genshin is that the current rewards and quality of life would be something good when the game released. It’s been 3 years and we have a total of 5 regions and a ton of characters…. With so much content that exists it’s impossible for the current quality of life to sustain it…. I’m sorry to say but it will indeed come a time where the Chinese government will point a gun at Mihoyo and make them choose between giving us what we need or shutting down the game
Just an idea for endgame, utilise coop for harder modes, strategising and locate them in old 1 time domains, but revamp into raids. Incentives could be skin shards :) Make our character building efforts worth it. One of the things that gets to me about Genshin, is that it's such a beautiful game, but it feels so much emptier after you've 100%'d the map. Ofc, I've feedbacked such ideas enough times with the version surveys and the apathy regarding being listened to is high.
Please keep in mind that Hoyoverse showed that they listened in HSR. It is much harder to implement new things in an already existing code, especially if many people write on it. Genshin already gives us a lot. Better story lines, songs extra made for characters, their music in general. And they try to make it easier to travel through regions, if we just compare Liyue with Fontaine. I feel like people are just complaining about Freemogems. Getting 3 rolls for the 3 years anniversary after giving a free 5 star in HSR was a stupid move. Especially, when we think about Aloy in the promotion phase of Genshin back at the day. But Hoyo has also grown A LOT over the years. Am I the only one who is happy about the story improvements and does not care about the freemogems? I feel kinda lost in this debate and I don't want to lose the improvement Genshin made over the years through this boycott.

The xianyun banner seems to be fabricated. It makes no sense that Xianyun is a better seller than Raiden and/or Furina. I think hoyo is covering it up, since that would ruin their representation or whatever. Its so sickening to see people posting videos of that banner sales saying "ohhh ahahahahhaha boycott failure ahahahaa" Its so sick. Some people were so happy to see that and I just dont get it. As a new player that started Playing during 3.8 when wanderer and kokomi had a rerun,i was so excited to play and REALLY looked forward to lantern rite,but now that I'm experiencing lantern rite, I'm quite disappointed at the rewards/primogems count. I want to give some information about review bombing since I'm an app developer myself. Getting good reviews or having high app store rating is very crucial for companies. It works like a free advertisement for new players to try the game. Also big companies like mihoyo are "buying" reviews to increase their overal score on app store and google play. And guess what "buying" reviews is not a cheap thing even though mihoyo has infinite money. They cost aaa loooottt! So with every negative review, you are making them spend more money on fake reviews. I already gave negative reviews with multiple accounts, so you should too. Lemme put on my Tinfoil hat real quick Biggest worry is that MHY might be planning this to redirect genshin audience to Star rail, and its not going to be seamless transition, they will lose players, but fact is they are willing to accept these losses to have people transfer to their more competitive game, remember genshin has *no* competition, where as HSR as a turn based games does. it's more complicated than you make it out to be or most people. Money is a way to control your life and outcomes. If you boycott something you expect it to generate a change, but that is not the reality at all. You boycott for a CHANCE to influence the developer. A game like Genshin that made 100 times as much as it was expected to make can do whatever it wants. Hoyoverse as hinted that the music and the art in the game is the reward many many times and this is not going to change, it is catered originally towards a higher class student with knowledge about philosophy as well as art and science.

Faster spawning rocks/more rocks when you break rocks, unlimited weapon exp crafting, Gadgets should have faster cooldowns, no stamina usage out of combat, enemies in the overworld should be grindable for decent FtP resources, should have a mini invasion in the overworld where you have to clean up an area to get good bonus resources, more mobs in the overworld in general, textures need to be updated, More Domains like the old Domains where you go through them, movement needs to be updated (just make people 25% faster in general), FPS cap needs to be unlocked (so we don't need to use an unlocker), bosses shouldn't take resin to fight, remove commissions, more expeditions and make the expedition rewards better, all characters should be doing things in the overworld and you can find them and enjoy a nice chat or funny event and get some items etc, Dark Iron Sting needs to have it's refinements available ingame, there should be more FtP weapons from each region 3 stars and 4 stars in general, you should be able to see Ghosts as Hu Tao, allow us to upgrade 3 star weapons into 4 star weapons with special items (4 star White Tassel baby), double or tripple the rewards in chests, allow us to toggle world states in picture mode (to take pictures of before and after we cleared an area like the big forge in Fontaine or the Mausoleum of king Deshret or the Chasm spire), allow us to toggle the UI in dialogue so we can also take pictures without the UI, they should let us view our pictures taken in fullscreen (I need this personally because ingame screenshots saved don't have my Nvidia filter settings on them), you should be able to delete Alloy from your account if you want, remove the cap on investigate spots and monster kills, there should be more forms of interactive lights like the one from the chasm, all items you delete in inventory should give you something at least some mora, there needs to be ways that Co-op is beneficial maybe add more things that give rewards that can be done in coop, Battle pass needs more levels and faster progression, Zhongli's weapon needs to be fixed to be more in line with other Archon weapons. There's endless things I could come up with if I just leave this up and type but I think that's a lot so far.
One thing nobody mentions, the time it takes to farm rocks if you want to craft 30 rocks every day is over an hour every 3-4 days, they should either make farming rocks way faster, rocks need to respawn every day (including chasm) or make it so you can craft unlimited weapon exp instead of being capped at 30 so you can just choose to farm when you want instead of being forced (unless you want to fall behind on weapon exp).
Even as a new player's perspective now i finally reached AR 55 i would like to share some thoughts about genshin i had i enjoyed the game as a new player but even as what everyone says it is great till AR 55 i will say that is not true the amount of time genshin requires is just too much and yes you will enjoy for a while but after woards the lack of rewards starts getting to you The 50 50 mechanic is already very bad then to insult us even more the amount of rewards they provide are just too low it's like be a cash cow or live a miserable life I heard many people say it is F2P friendly ik that fact but yk what everything boils down to us playing with the characetrs we like if we just can't get them or have to wait 6 months up to an year then there is no point in playing the game secondly people who say wellll.... we have exploration I will be honest noboy likes doing that crap we all know why people do it for that is to get some primos and lastly I have lost every 50 50 in this game so am even more furious towards this game since I waited soo hard and then just lost 50 50 again but currently i am trying to get nahida atleast so i can be like everyone and just use hyper bloom after getting her i am going to uninstall the damn game since I want our voices to be heard
Yeah this drama further divided the online viewer base and distracted people from the real issue. Even if it was only a few days, that's enough time for people to move onto the next hot topic. Ill admit the drama was funny to watch from the sidelines but the amount of time that the drama went on for was counterproductive. Larger CC's need to stop farming and put their money where their mouth is. There are too many hypocrites who care more about their paycheck than the community and overall health of the game. There's a difference between CCs who say "I do this for a living and I support/don't support yall" and "About the boycott..." then "OMG THIS NEW UNIT IS INSANE". Money and power doesn't corrupt, it reveals your true personality; I feel like a few of these larger CC's simply don't care as long as they are making money and views. - *Resin overflow system* like in other Hoyovers games, and a resin cap and condensed resin cap increase.
- Optional *old events (DLC)* to be re-playable for new players and be able to experience *hidden/missed lore* and *mini-games* _(plus an option to replay story dialogues)_
- *More options and quality of life updates for every type of players* such as; Teapot load limit increase, more in game character emote and pose for role-players, more options for content creators with UI(hide user interface/UID#) and advanced audio(disable only combat music)/video settings(un-cap FPS), skip the entire dialogue option for speedrunners
- *Togglable constellations* for content creators, testers, or people who want to try challenges

- Epitomized Path for 4-stars and more characters/weapons in the Starglitter shop
- Clear *buff indicators* with cool-downs in the UI(user interface) and hp bar for shields
- *Add controller support for Android devices*
- *FIX DEHYA* (Then address the bug reports on characters like MonaC1, and others+fix them)
Ah and last but not least, *more rewards* not only for the whales like that stingy 3 pity system for 5-star weapons, give more to the F2Ps too... More than just *3 pulls*

-Make talent/weapon ascension mats farmable regardless of which day of the week it is.
-Mechanic to craft your own artifact with main stat of your choice, like HSR does (self modeled resin). And to that, I'd also add that you can increase the chance for at least 2 substats that you pick to appear.
-Add 5* weapons to the shop, like HSR does. Skyward blade, jade spear, jade cutter, skyward harp, aquila favonia etc etc.
-Actual buff indicators with cooldowns.
-One day birthday banners, meaning a character can be pulled on their birthday as well, so there's no need to wait until a character gets a rerun
-1 standard wish given every day on login
I do think the last one may be a bit much, but it's worth a try.

The artifact grind is in my opinion the best mechanic Hoyo have to keep mid-maxing player retention and I don't expect them to change this soon. Remember they want to milk the addicts forever and so far it's working. I also feel we can ask them for this later, if they even care to acknowledges our feedback...

Genshin needs competition. You can complain all you want, but if the game is still the best in it's genre they have no incentive to improve cause people won't leave in favor of another game. I hope Wuthering waves will provide such competition

I agree with your standpoints but there is one tiny nitpick I have. What will we achieve if we don't play Genshin and go for Star Rail instead? It's all under same umbrella so not playing genshin and instead going for an other game of theirs will not hurt them in the long run. If we want to make a message clear we should boycot all their games. not just one of their games.
it's not the entirety of hoyoverse who is at fault and the HSR devs has nothing to do with genshin's bs, it's really just all the genshin team under the leadership of cai haoyu. If there is one thing HSR is worse than Genshin is just and JUST the relic system there. You can't have an off piece. But they compensate with the self model. And somehow I got more build character relic sets in HSR and yet I played Genshin much longer.

I stopped spending money before 4.3 banner. It’s just recent and it’s the first time that I didn’t buy BP and even buy welkin and genesis crystals. I also didn’t buy Ganyu/Shenhe skins.
The Lantern Rite Event was disappointing. I’ve been playing for years and the rewards are just sad.
I personally feel like genshin players need to try other games just to see how shit genshin's design decisions really are. It took them THREE YEARS before they revolt when it should have been a year when the first anniversary rolled out. I just can't sympathize.
Every time I see the boycott post, all I can think is "Oh so NOW you want change? Where was all this outrage back then? I thought we all should be grateful for all the rewards, right? It's better than nothing, right?" And then Star Rail comes out and completely bursts their bubbles. I already gave up LONG before any of this shitshow.

You SHOULDN'T forget that Hoyo makes Star Rail as well as Genshin. You can't boycott Genshin - you have to boycott Hoyo, which means it's not a smart idea to go play Hoyo's OTHER game. You need to drop Hoyo games entirely if you're really determined to push Hoyo to change its overall practices.
That logic doesn't really track, though - I mean, it would if Hoyoverse were being stingy in all three Gacha on the market, but it's not. HI3 and HSR players, myself included, have felt fairly satisfied with our experience: minus the Xianzhou arc.. which they clearly took to heart with the Penacony arc.
Why should we drop support for HSR and HI3 when it's only Genshin Impact these having these problems? If we don't play the same game then it's not our fight. It's your fight.

Trust me, I completely understand that they have the funds to hire psychologists: I mean, they hired a famous neuroscientist (Dr. Moser) to make sure some aspects of Penacony would make sense in terms of dreams. They are also a Gacha company, they're not here for the complete goodness of their heart but for our wallets. That's the price we pay for playing Gacha my friend.

For now. People really like to ignore that Hoyoverse is doing a lot of shady things that aren't directly game related. If Genshin fails then HI3 and HSR are subject to the Genshin treatment because they'll need players to log in longer, will need them to spend...which means getting stingy. While Hoyoverse won't have changed its customer service and satisfaction practices, and still inflating numbers to be deceptive. Still bad with managing their money to not spread themselves thin.

the truth is the CN players had a problem with the three wishes not the 4.4 patch but the Genshin CC made it about genshin as a whole. they have never complain about the endgame which genshin has multiple kinds of more then star rail but i do agree on more QOL.
what he doesn't know is he isn't helping the problem by telling others to just play star rail or a different hoyo game. hoyoverse doesn't care where you play as long as your playing their games.
the problem i see is rewards like those three wishes i 100% bet if genshin gave out five stars during anniversary and 10 pulls every patch no one would be complaining. the truth is people played other gacha got all that free shit and expect genshin to do the same which is a logical fallacy. your already playing the game, and the updates for free but while you can't get all weapons and characters for free if you spend your in-game currency right you can get the units you want for free able to get one five star every patch.
the only way to change genshin is to stop spending money but that failed because what these UA-camrs who complain don't tell you is they are the loud minority a very small number of players. hoyoverse other games are proof if there was a problem with genshin they fix it
What’s crazy to me is the lengths this player base has to go through with Hoyo just get equal treatment as HSR and HI3, GAMES CREATED BY THE SAME DAMN COMPANY.
It speaks volumes to me that they could implement so many significant changes with so little effort and they just refuse to listen. Goes to show you how much Hoyo values us as consumers.
I gave myself an ultimatum with Genshin a while back. I wouldn't touch the game again until they made significant changes. If they could provide what I was wanting to Star Rail, then they could do QoL updates and be a little more friendly and generous with the general playerbase.
I was burned out on it being RNG simulator on drugs. RNG for rolling for characters/weapons. RNG in rolling for artifacts. RNG in rolling stats for artifacts. RNG with rewards overall from doing content. You could get a "lowest amount" of something you're aiming for from domains. I get it, it keeps people playing. Letting us customize or lock in stats on artifacts or being able to choose a character to roll for like the weapon banner, maybe adding epitomized path to the standard banner...there are so many things which can make the game feel less predatory or just more fun.
I stopped even watching the story progression through content creators a year ago. I've enjoyed the gameplay, and was severely unlucky with rolling for artifacts and materials for upgrading the characters/weapons/talents and their artifacts. It's horrific how unlucky a person can get. I wasn't even aiming for perfect artifacts. Even just having decent 4 star artifacts would have been fine for me, something that would encourage me to get even better at playing the characters I had and optimizing rotations and whatnot.
The game has good and bad points, and for me the bad just stacked up on my mindset toward the game to a breaking point and I knew it was unhealthy for me to continue, which is why I'm not playing anymore. I won't play again until they make significant change. They need to earn my time, as well as apparently a lot of other peoples', because it's obvious there are a lot of people unhappy with the game. A repeat of the first anniversary? I wasn't surprised, wasn't expecting it either. The response from the Chinese playerbase did surprise me. Now that people have a blatant comparison with Star Rail, people are able to reason out how predatory and scummy the company's viewpoint is on Genshin.
I hope that people stop throwing money at them and stop playing and seriously show them that they messed up. I know I'm not alone in wanting the game to be treated better. It has so much potential. I told them in every survey and review they sent links to in the in game mail what I thought about everything, and what I hoped for. They never listened to me before, so I lost hope. My hope is almost returning that maybe there's hope in the future of the game.
I'm not touching anything Hoyo right now, not Genshin, Not Honkai, even if I want to play Star Rail, I don't want to touch it to send them the message that they need to treat players better.
I don't care about the gifts or anniversary awards or whatever. I just want the game to feel better and not like I have to throw hundreds of dollars at it in order to feel stronger in the game. I just want it to not take forever or a grind prior to release of a character to make a character feel strong, and I want there to be QoL for new players. Take out some of the RNG, let us control our path to being stronger. Oh, and give us endgame content outside of the abyss which encourages players to actually be better at the game. Seriously, people have wanted it for so long.

So the issue I'm seeing is that you self imposed a grind and decided it was a flaw of the game that's more focused on Horizontal Progression over Vertical Progression
If your take away of the game and focus is making Characters stronger then the core experience is not something your interested in
In General this isn't like PGR or Honkai Impact or your typical Gacha your not going to be rewarded for over investing in power
To be frank I don't think anything beyond blatant Powercreep and MMO Style Tactics will address your issue because you have to first understand that as a player you already have an advantage against the enimeies
So unless your looking for ToF style 50 life bars I don't think the game will give you the justification you need to keep grinding
It's not a flaw that Genshin doesn't feed into its Gacha nature people enjoy Genshin because they don't feel incentive to do what your doing
And realistically you had decent peices the bar for decent isn't high and no End Game justifies the need to go that deep into the artifact system
So it's legitimately Player Brain that's telling you to go crazy and get Powerful OP characters which I honestly think there are games that fill that itch

Online game either it gacha or mmorpg both feature a same concept of gradual expansion. If u don't want to left behind of the said expansion the only thing to do is keep playing. If u don't like that then be ready and accept to be left behind by expansion. If u don't like the gradual expansion thing then play console game where u buy the game and play it. Instead of playing online type game.

What I ask of the game is literally things which would inconvenience nobody but devs of the game, and even then it's just quality of life.
I love a game with a lot of content to get lost in, so if the game improves where I want it to improve, I would gladly return. The only regret I'd have in not being around the whole time, is missing events if they never make those available through DLC or whatnot. I could get the lore from checking out channels which archive the events, so no huge loss, just items which are whatever to me.
What I ask of the game is to improve the functions within the game to a standard within the very next game in their company which is currently available to us as players. If it's horrible to ask them to bring a standard of QoL to a previous title, then I think things are seriously grim.
Genshin is a game with several levelling systems to interact with. I love that sort of thing in a game, interacting with those, making the characters stronger and enjoying the combat experiences made possible in the game through making the characters stronger. When there's a large throttle on the strength dynamic through RNG of even getting the main stat you want on an artifact, there's an issue with the game's quality of life. What I meant by decent is purely in the main stat, and I've gone months at a time without getting an artifact with the main stat I wanted for a character. Such a thing is an RNG factor. Getting unlucky for that long is possible. So, giving an opportunity to potentially craft an artifact into having the main stat I want would only be beneficial.
There are some people who no-life grind the artifacts and enjoy it, but the people who do enjoy it are far fewer in number than the people who detest there being RNG in **everything**. Yes, it is a gacha game. Yes, they want to make money through systems in the game. They could very well still make a lot of money and function perfectly fine even if they cut out a source like whaling on domains for months to get the perfect artifact. They make so much money off of character and weapon whaling, and there would still be plenty of whaling for artifacts even with a change to the RNG within the artifact system.
Making the RNG a little more friendly for everyone would literally only give more time to players who like to play multiple games, more time to play other games as well.
I get enjoying a game as it is, but not seeking improvement in which everyone would enjoy is negligence. Fighting improvement and quality of life adjustments which might bring people back to the game would disrupt nobody. Adding an endgame challenge for people who love the strength building systems, an endgame which will persist for the full duration of the game instead of resetting the spiral abyss - it would only benefit the game overall. Arguments against improvement mean wanting the game to grow stale. If the only thing you want out of the game is story, then perhaps they should cut out all of the levelling and weapon systems and just have character rolling. Oh, but that would cut off a lot of reasons people might spend and make the company money.
Talk sense to me, or you'll just waste more of your time. I will not respond to people who don't seek improvement. If you love the game so much, why wouldn't you want more people to enjoy it? Why wouldn't you want people to continue playing the game and providing the chance for more types of content to enjoy within the game? If you can't provide a decent answer, then you're just wasting time. I will not waste my time on Genshin if they never improve to a standard they within their own company have already done in Star Rail. Star Rail also has a type of gameplay I thoroughly enjoy. I would love to play it. But I don't want to interact with Hoyo until they improve Genshin. I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on the game just to not be heard for two years of me playing the game near every day. I would sooner give up the game entirely and consider it dead, than encourage negligent behavior and disrespect to the community as a whole from a head of the project. Two people already having responded to me with defending a company rather than wanting improvement which would only make the game a better experience, just goes to show how ignorant some of the playerbase currently is.
heres the thing that i see many people is expecting. that the boycott will result in a immediate change most likely in 4.5. for me that is not the case and having to set that expectation will just result in people thinking the boycott didnt work. genshin's update is premeditated and it is planned 3 updates after the current one. this is backed up by leaks and codes that the leakers provided. i think having to expect immediate change will make the community more hopeful but once another update that is the same shit. people will think the boycott doesnt do shit. what i would advise people is just dont spend and play less because genshins business model is to hook you up with dailies and events that will make you "miss" something and people need to think that this boycott will result to something but not immediately

my main issue with games (not just genshin) is the fact that they are repetitive this is consistent with most games. and i feel games like Honkai have more variety making it better for the long run

Last time, I ranting about the bad thing on Genshin like QOL on skip button, no endgame content, lack of reward on my Local Genshin community group. The funny thing is too many white knights defending like "this is not game for you" "if you don't like it don't play it" "you complain so much why not making a game for yourself" "your opinion does not matter" “is your problem not mine" etc. But that post already delete from the admin lol.
I'm also ex white Knight on early days. But now I realize bacause of burnout and lack of content given. The big blow that makes me realize more when the reward for 3 fate only announced. I felt the dev not appreciate me enough after thousands of money I pour on this game.
I hope from my post could give some realization for some players don't simply blindly defending the game. We complain because we are not hating the game but because we love the game.

It bothers me so much that hoyo gains so much money yet are so lazy and shady with their product.
The thing about Genshin is that the current rewards and quality of life would be something good when the game released.
It’s been 3 years and we have a total of 5 regions and a ton of characters…. With so much content that exists it’s impossible for the current quality of life to sustain it…. I’m sorry to say but it will indeed come a time where the Chinese government will point a gun at Mihoyo and make them choose between giving us what we need or shutting down the game
Just an idea for endgame, utilise coop for harder modes, strategising and locate them in old 1 time domains, but revamp into raids. Incentives could be skin shards :) Make our character building efforts worth it. One of the things that gets to me about Genshin, is that it's such a beautiful game, but it feels so much emptier after you've 100%'d the map. Ofc, I've feedbacked such ideas enough times with the version surveys and the apathy regarding being listened to is high.
Please keep in mind that Hoyoverse showed that they listened in HSR. It is much harder to implement new things in an already existing code, especially if many people write on it. Genshin already gives us a lot. Better story lines, songs extra made for characters, their music in general. And they try to make it easier to travel through regions, if we just compare Liyue with Fontaine. I feel like people are just complaining about Freemogems. Getting 3 rolls for the 3 years anniversary after giving a free 5 star in HSR was a stupid move. Especially, when we think about Aloy in the promotion phase of Genshin back at the day. But Hoyo has also grown A LOT over the years. Am I the only one who is happy about the story improvements and does not care about the freemogems? I feel kinda lost in this debate and I don't want to lose the improvement Genshin made over the years through this boycott.

I totally agree I just started a youtube channel to just even spread awareness I hope people are able to refer and make love for the game. If you love genshin, you should do what’s right.

The xianyun banner seems to be fabricated. It makes no sense that Xianyun is a better seller than Raiden and/or Furina. I think hoyo is covering it up, since that would ruin their representation or whatever. Its so sickening to see people posting videos of that banner sales saying "ohhh ahahahahhaha boycott failure ahahahaa" Its so sick. Some people were so happy to see that and I just dont get it. Why do you go out of your way to make people feel miserable?

Tbh im so done with this genshin drama. I get all boycotted but it getting to a point where it turning everyone against each others. Plus, I want genshin to do better but i get tired out farming for Artifacts or boss rewards for many reasons.
As a new player that started Playing during 3.8 when wanderer and kokomi had a rerun,i was so excited to play and REALLY looked forward to lantern rite,but now that I'm experiencing lantern rite, I'm quite disappointed at the rewards/primogems count. Everyone was hyping it up as if it was gonna give 100+ wishes,like where tf are those wishes and primogems y'all were talking abt huh?!?!?!?🤨 I've seen so many players say that lantern rite will give us 16k primogems or more,and i REALLY had my hopes up,but it got destroyed after i saw how little primogems lantern rite gives. Not even a full 10 pull😀

If you are playing HSR, you're doing EXACTLY what Hoyo wants. If you want to boycott hoyo you need to NOT PLAY ANY GAME. Otherwise, its not a boycott. HSR is NOT my type of game. They could give me EVERY character free and I WONT play it. Boycotting Hoyo mean EVERY game.

I want to give some information about review bombing since I'm an app developer myself. Getting good reviews or having high app store rating is very crucial for companies. It works like a free advertisement for new players to try the game. Also big companies like mihoyo are "buying" reviews to increase their overal score on app store and google play. And guess what "buying" reviews is not a cheap thing even though mihoyo has infinite money. They cost aaa loooottt! So with every negative review, you are making them spend more money on fake reviews. I already gave negative reviews with multiple accounts, so you should too. I guarantee you it will work. #BoycottGenshin

I stopped spending long ago because of censorship, so I can't say I share yalls goals. Hell, the only thing on the boycott list that even remotely interests me is end game content, but if it's more DPS check BS like the abyss and or locked behind resin, then I could care less. Have consistently bought the battle pass and welkin for a least a year or two now. Welkin is almost up, 4 days left. Not spending another dime. I may be a small drop in this pool, and the message may have gotten muddled in all the drama, but do not forget the original point of all this. #boycottgenshin

Biggest worry is that MHY might be planning this to redirect genshin audience to Star rail, and its not going to be seamless transition, they will lose players, but fact is they are willing to accept these losses to have people transfer to their more competitive game, remember genshin has *no* competition, where as HSR as a turn based games does.
I am not saying its fact, and it is upsetting to think yourself as cattle getting herded into another game, but that could very well be the case.
what kind of company even does that? all hoyo games should be all treated equally even if one of their games do better financially compared to others. I guess we can all make sense of it by saying hoyo's true passion lies in honkai but it doesn't makes sense at all in a business decision.

Remember, Free to paly do not make money in conventional way, they make money by spreading how good a game is, not by paying. Meaning if they transition people from Genshin to HSR, they will have more paying players willing to play HSR.
And it has been painfully obvious they do not treat their games equally from start, notice how around same time Genshin came out HI3 started getting higher quality updates and fully voiced content.
It makes sense, but it's also ultimately ineffectual.
GI and HSR are two completely different genre, so people who enjoy both game would already be playing the two even without having to do with this drama thing.
People who only enjoy open world exploration game like GI will not play HSR even if they quit GI. They'll just play other game that feels the same as GI.
And then people who like HSR but don't play GI... well there are a lot of them already, so they don't need herding in the first place.

it's more complicated than you make it out to be or most people. Money is a way to control your life and outcomes. If you boycott something you expect it to generate a change, but that is not the reality at all. You boycott for a CHANCE to influence the developer. A game like Genshin that made 100 times as much as it was expected to make can do whatever it wants. Hoyoverse as hinted that the music and the art in the game is the reward many many times and this is not going to change, it is catered originally towards a higher class student with knowledge about philosophy as well as art and science.
Just want to say that all Pokeon Go creators are goin through a similar moment as genshin rn coz the company is not listening to the community but all things considered is an older game.
Faster spawning rocks/more rocks when you break rocks, unlimited weapon exp crafting, Gadgets should have faster cooldowns, no stamina usage out of combat, enemies in the overworld should be grindable for decent FtP resources, should have a mini invasion in the overworld where you have to clean up an area to get good bonus resources, more mobs in the overworld in general, textures need to be updated, More Domains like the old Domains where you go through them, movement needs to be updated (just make people 25% faster in general), FPS cap needs to be unlocked (so we don't need to use an unlocker), bosses shouldn't take resin to fight, remove commissions, more expeditions and make the expedition rewards better, all characters should be doing things in the overworld and you can find them and enjoy a nice chat or funny event and get some items etc, Dark Iron Sting needs to have it's refinements available ingame, there should be more FtP weapons from each region 3 stars and 4 stars in general, you should be able to see Ghosts as Hu Tao, allow us to upgrade 3 star weapons into 4 star weapons with special items (4 star White Tassel baby), double or tripple the rewards in chests, allow us to toggle world states in picture mode (to take pictures of before and after we cleared an area like the big forge in Fontaine or the Mausoleum of king Deshret or the Chasm spire), allow us to toggle the UI in dialogue so we can also take pictures without the UI, they should let us view our pictures taken in fullscreen (I need this personally because ingame screenshots saved don't have my Nvidia filter settings on them), you should be able to delete Alloy from your account if you want, remove the cap on investigate spots and monster kills, there should be more forms of interactive lights like the one from the chasm, all items you delete in inventory should give you something at least some mora, there needs to be ways that Co-op is beneficial maybe add more things that give rewards that can be done in coop, Battle pass needs more levels and faster progression, Zhongli's weapon needs to be fixed to be more in line with other Archon weapons. There's endless things I could come up with if I just leave this up and type but I think that's a lot so far.
One thing nobody mentions, the time it takes to farm rocks if you want to craft 30 rocks every day is over an hour every 3-4 days, they should either make farming rocks way faster, rocks need to respawn every day (including chasm) or make it so you can craft unlimited weapon exp instead of being capped at 30 so you can just choose to farm when you want instead of being forced (unless you want to fall behind on weapon exp).

Even as a new player's perspective now i finally reached AR 55 i would like to share some thoughts about genshin i had i enjoyed the game as a new player but even as what everyone says it is great till AR 55 i will say that is not true the amount of time genshin requires is just too much and yes you will enjoy for a while but after woards the lack of rewards starts getting to you The 50 50 mechanic is already very bad then to insult us even more the amount of rewards they provide are just too low it's like be a cash cow or live a miserable life I heard many people say it is F2P friendly ik that fact but yk what everything boils down to us playing with the characetrs we like if we just can't get them or have to wait 6 months up to an year then there is no point in playing the game secondly people who say wellll.... we have exploration I will be honest noboy likes doing that crap we all know why people do it for that is to get some primos and lastly I have lost every 50 50 in this game so am even more furious towards this game since I waited soo hard and then just lost 50 50 again but currently i am trying to get nahida atleast so i can be like everyone and just use hyper bloom after getting her i am going to uninstall the damn game since I want our voices to be heard
Yeah this drama further divided the online viewer base and distracted people from the real issue. Even if it was only a few days, that's enough time for people to move onto the next hot topic. Ill admit the drama was funny to watch from the sidelines but the amount of time that the drama went on for was counterproductive. Larger CC's need to stop farming and put their money where their mouth is. There are too many hypocrites who care more about their paycheck than the community and overall health of the game. There's a difference between CCs who say "I do this for a living and I support/don't support yall" and "About the boycott..." then "OMG THIS NEW UNIT IS INSANE". Money and power doesn't corrupt, it reveals your true personality; I feel like a few of these larger CC's simply don't care as long as they are making money and views. That's pretty insulting in itself. That's just my opinion though. Good work Biimow!
