This rebuild has taken a looong time now...I've actually sold my 1100S and bought myself the 950SP...but still exited about the finale result! Keep up the work! 😊
Slow maybe but that's not a bad thing. It's great that Cerakote UK welcomed you and Adam - and us keen LCR followers - in to their unit. It may be in their interest to do this but great even so. I've been looking forward to seeing this video and, oh my word, what a finish on those parts! 😳 with them matched so well to the engine cases' new colour I'm keen to see more of the build. Keep em coming Chopsy 👊
Got to be the longest bike build I've followed hahaha. I'll feel like I've achieved something when I finally see it done hahaha. Good looking coats of paint tho. Keep me coming
I have a feeling that this Ducati is going to be one hell of a stunning machine when completed. It's going to be interesting to see what else you've got planned for the bike. Awesome going again Chops 👏 👍 😁
Being ocd, I love cerakote, on a different note, bumped into Beasty at the Scottish motorbike show last weekend, awesome to see your build up close, my favourite blade to date. Hats off
Love these VIP access vids. What a mega experience to share with us, well done Chops! Big thanks to the lads at Cerakote UK #TopNotch and #TopClass🔝🎬🎥🆒
Hadn't really heard of this stuff before your channel started discussing it, always went for powder coating. Interesting product for sure and well put together video. Cheers
I've seen you talk about this a few times now..and since I have just started a project, I thought I would give it a go. I've just picked up a load of parts coated in burnt bronze and the finish looks really good...so I have just dropped of fork casings and a swing arm to be done as well. Love the mix of projects and going into depth on this sort of stuff which is interesting whatever your project.
Chopsy, is this hypermotard now the longest period of time you've owned a single bike bike? Can you count it as that if its spent most of that time in bits? 😉 honestly though love these videos keep 'em coming haha
Okay I didn't realise you can achieve different finishes via the sand blasting. Thought it was just remove all the crud you want to remove and away you go. Very cool.
I bought a pretty much stock 07 1100S last August and only recently found this project ... so I've missed the frustration of many here and binge watched to catch up. Sadly, I can't afford the upgrades you've done but it's been so much fun to watch and dream. I'm lucky enough to be 5 minutes from Snell's for those jobs well beyond my comfort zone, or when I can't find the right hammer and chisel. Would be interesting to see a 0-60 comparison between stock and Chopsed! Crack on bud!
It’ll be in vintage club plates by the time it’s back on the road 😖. Always great videos, and the most true to life tests and reports . Well done mate 👍🍻
Nice vid, very interesting Chops. I keep forgetting you even still have the Hyper lol. Although always glad to see a vid about it pop up & good to know it's still on the radar & coming along slowly but surely.
@Lamb Chop Rides Excellent stuff, very interesting video. I've been looking forward to this since I got an exclusive heads up from Adam when collecting my powder coated parts recently. 😃👍
In the 60’s and 70’s, powder coating was not popular and/or too expensive. High heat BBQ grill black spray paint worked surprisingly well. There was crinkle black, glossy and flat high heat paint. They held up well even on the expansion chamber exhaust pipe.
Hahaha the wet ring thing didn’t register with me 😁 and then someone said wet dream and BAM I woke up !! Haha I luv this coating I’ve got lots of bits need doing for my restomod fz/r 911 build
Right John you're getting no dinner ,,why because the new cooker is in that Ducati ,, thought you had forgotten you owned it 😉😉😉😉 seems like the way to go with coating parts ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland 😁
Great vid! Really interesting process, and the results speak for themselves. I'll need to get the casings on my Ducati done at some point as they've started to peel in a few places. Only question I have that I don't think was covered in the vid, is how durable is this compared to normal powder coating? I'm thinking in terms of scratch/chip resistance, heat resistance etc. Also how wet does a ring need to be - can it ever be over saturated? ;) :D
Its used extensively on Motocross parts, engine cases etc and MX bikes take a hell of a lot more abuse than a typical road bike, yet it seems to hold up well
What do you like better and why between the hypermotard and the 500 ktm super moto you had? I just got done building a husaberg 450fe supermoto and a guy wants to trade me a 12 ducati 796 hypermotard. Very interested to hear your thoughts. I take it you plan on keeping this bike forever considering all the work your going through. I'm like you in that I like to try everything and never keep something very long. I will say the supermoto is by far better than Harleys. Way more fun to ride that's for sure lol.
Blinking hell chops this ever getting finished 🤦♂️ hope your happy with it when finished as at this rate you won’t have long left 😂😂😂 seriously glad your nearing the finish line 🏁
Great project. I'm not a ducati purist or anything but please dont paint it nardo grey, imho that colour is way overdone at the moment and mostly by teenagers with Audi A3's and hideous bodykits. Looking forward to your next vid.

Me too. Please continue showing us the rest of the project. Thanks
Very interested to see the re build of the hypermotard .👍👍🇬🇧
Brilliant, Cerakote finally explained......So don't delay John, straight onto the vinegar strokes assembly video

Great video, really interesting process, clever chaps at cerakote Uk and a super end result ,
Shame about your “ wet ring “
Thanks
Dean
Really liked seeing the process. Why did you only get 1 of your rear sets coated? Have I missed tsomething?
Very interesting chop excellent video I enjoy that video thanks from danny
C'mon!! You'll kill us all. 10 months without video. We wanna see this project.
Soon, Soon I promise. Waiting on my garage units so I can clear the shed find all the bits and put everything away!
Interesting, mixed my own Cerakote colours.
Great vid! Really interesting process, and the results speak for themselves. I'll need to get the casings on my Ducati done at some point as they've started to peel in a few places. It's tougher than powder Chris, think they have some comparison charts on the website on wear resistance
Its used extensively on Motocross parts, engine cases etc and MX bikes take a hell of a lot more abuse than a typical road bike, yet it seems to hold up well
Yay 😁 looks fantastic chops ✌️
Lovely mate! Looks absolutley goregous! Great finish! Will all 4 motorcycles fit in your garage? Your running out of space!
Yes will be tight! 😄

Is Cerakote tougher than powder coat when it comes to issues like heel rub?
This is turning into the next Project Binky
Fun video... and interesting too 👌🏻
