As a fellow f2p brother the fact that firefly's best teamates are a free e6 character and a 4* that you could have picked for free and is on rate up rn is AMAZING. Other than ruan mei which tbh i dont even like so she can be replaced with pela (yes i know its a 60% dps increase idgaf) and the fact ive been REALLY reliant on my highly invested jing yuan since blade hasnt been cutting it and dr ratio is at mid investment. Firefly is a GOD SEND
2.4 does have an interesting unit for me, the phys destruction girl who supposedly is clara and blade's kits combined.

Im not f2p and hoping I can get both E1S1, so good luck to everyone pulling. With that Jade opens up to being consitent with Hunt units too, with a crot rate chest and the new sets she has something like 80% crit rate and will probaly end up with 100-120% crit damage before she gains the other 140ish from the planer and her passive effects.
Sounds cool Jade looks fun to me so I'll prob try and grab her as well, just so I have some variety for Pure Fiction lol, but if she's versatile outside of that, that would be a bonus
@@JMulls Yea she kind of needs her E1 to be versatile though. It buffs her follow up attack damage and causes her to get 3 or more stacks any time her buffed ally attacks (instead of 1 or 2).
Hey im f2p also, started playing 4 months ago. I have E0S1 Acheron, E0 Robin, E0S1 Topaz and E1 Fu xuan. Yes i have been extremely lucky in my rolls winning 5/6 character rolls and 2/2 light cone rolls.
I’m currently sitting at 21k jade. Here’s my take and two cents for people who might be in a similiar situation: If you have enough jade for both Ruan Mei and Firefly, DO IT! If you already have Ruan Mei, DO IT!
But if you dont have Ruan Mei and dont have enough to guarantee them both you should take a good look at your account and decide wether or not it is worth spending all your jade on just Ruan mei. Great as she is, it looks like the game is heading towards a more focused style of teambuilding and the addition of Robin hints that there will eventually be other harmony characters that will fill different niches better than Ruan Mei and Ruan Mei might only fit into Break teams in the future (from a meta point of view).
So lets talk team comps and one slightly overlooked detail i have noticed, the F2P version of the break team is already the strongest team available in the game, right now, for absolutely free. We are talking, Xueyi, Tyngiun, Harmony MC and Ghallager. If you can add Ruan Mei to that comp it can probably 2-3 cycle stuff late game with very little investment. And with Firefly it could 1 cycle.
Now the hot take, as a f2p, ill be skipping Firefly and will only pull for one 50/50 on Ruan Mei. If i get her i get her, if i dont i dont. My thinking is that i should not commit all my jades on a “new”team comp when i already have two team comps i am invested in. So yea wish me luck cause im saving for Jiao Qiu. And dont sleep on the f2p break team. It’s already the GOAT.

@@xuk6042 yes he will be on selector for 2.3 and xueyi will be a reward in Apocalyptic shadows.
They already have limited 5 star harmony for hyper carry (sparkle)
Robin for (FUA)
Ruan Mei (break)
The next 5 star harmony will likely be specialized for DoT or superbreak to replace HMC

Im AR 44. I have boothill, gallagher, gepart, and pela as my main team. Should I get ruan mei or firefly? I really like firefly and I have gallagher and will get harmony MC through the story so i think I can make a good enough team for her. But I could take another route and get ruan mei to add to my boothill team. But Boothill is my only main DPS so I plan on getting Firefly. any tips?
Ruan mei for your Boothill team and replace Geppy with Gallagher
archeron's pela replacement is in 2.4. probably get that over jade imo. that's what i will do if i don't take a break from HSR after 2.3

i just started star rail a week ago and now i dont know who to pull...if i should go for firefly as my first main dps and then build a team for her as the time goes and i go on on the story OR i pull for ruan mei, and then pull for a main dps like acheron or jingliu when they rerun eventually, because i am very early game so now i dont have to worryk much about end game stuff but its all about investiments, so idk what to do...
IMO it's a tough choice but I say go for Firefly since most of her best supports are REALLY free to play friendly since they are either given to you through the main story or are a 4star. And having a main dps makes everything easier, I just don't know how GOOD she'll be but I can't imagine she would be bad. So imo I'd recommend firefly
Rando opinion I would say go for what you like. I have ruin mei and she has been great but it depends on where you are and what you would like to do. DPS will get rotated out faster then supports but if you need that 5 star damage to carry you through the game def go for firefly. Other than that RuMe will be the longer term investment in my opinion. Its great to have a damage dealer to speed through stuff but the support and extra simulated universe stuff feels real nice and can help speed through clearing late game content. Plus it has to be said that if you get Firefly you still need to speed to get to peacony to even get her materials.

I would say ruanmei is the safer choice to pull as she is basically the best support (buffer) in the game while firefly will be the riskier choice but could help you out as she is a dps (and having no dps is pain)

For Acheron havers, be on the lookout for Jiaoqiu. I don't know his kit so this is not really a leak but word is that he's Acheron's version of what Black Swan was for Kafka.
My Acheron E2/S1 is so broken that I feel like I am already cheating any game content. I am skipping Jiaoqiu coz I do not like his looks (looks like an NPC) and my team gets stacks easily fast already.

If your a meta ftp player you have to plan out very carefully what teams you want to play and what future character maximise your account value
Cuz the endgame is certainty getting harder
For real, as a F2P I've been carried by DHIL and JL brute forcing content, now it's becoming increasingly difficult to clear MoC with them even if the weaknesses are appropriate. I'm going to have to get Firefly because she can brute force with the fire weakness and super break is just crazy without the need for good crit ratios
@@Mike.Erman.Trout. Acheron is such a good unit that lowkey I feel bad not running her in the other team in stuff like MOC cause the difference is so noticeable
@@JMulls it actually is, and the thing is I also pulled for E1S1 Acheron thinking that she would be the DPS to last me a long time but here comes Firefly with even more future-proof capabilities 😂

Good luck exists, though. I'm not F2P but I got 2 Ruan Mei and one Bronya within 50 pulls back on her banner. It can happen. It's just... not really something anyone should bet on.
... That bit of luck cost me every 50/50 since 2.0 onward.
