Hi there. I wondered if you wouldn't mind me using this footage to play over my friend's piano piece she has written called Sensing Shetland? You of course will be credited on the video. It is not for profit. Thank you. Alice
Hi Alice, thanks for getting in touch. Would you mind sending us an email with some more details about this, please? scottishhighlandhikers@gmail.com Thanks!
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊 Apologies if any offence was caused - everything I’ve read says that Shetland is a part of Scotland. Is this not correct?
@@HighlandHikers On the surface it looks that way and unfortunately we are "ruled" from Scotland but there's actually no document in existence that makes Shetland a part of Scotland. Even the so-called "experts" and courts can't prove that we're legally part of Scotland. If people knew what we've suffered(and continue to suffer) at the hands of Scotland they would understand why we feel the way we do.
Ah that's interesting - I didn't realise it was so complicated. I was aware Shetland had independence movements, but I must confess it's not something I've researched. I think Shetland is a fantastic place and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to visit it. I actually made a video about Bressay parkrun on my other channel, which was the main purpose behind my visit: ua-cam.com/video/ds5gdie-BZw/v-deo.html
Beautiful.
Thank you 😊 Shetland is a truly stunning place.
@@HighlandHikers Yes, I often think I would like to live there.

Lovely video but we are NOT Scotland nor are we "Scottish Islands".
