Lovely video and some really top notch pictures. As I own Peerie Spiggie Voe now, you will be welcome if you come back. I only have one rule, “leave only your footprints in the sand, take away only wonderful memories” 👍
What a place! Some beautiful shots - especially the one of the rocks in the fog - & love the video of the puffin. I’ve been down the Oregon coast where puffins are known to be but have never seen one in life.
Glad you enjoyed it! I had no idea they appear in Oregon as well! That's amazing, those little things can fly everywhere with their little wings. Hope you get to see one soon!
Hi, wow, what a lovely film. I'm a Shetlander and I can't understand why the landowner asked you to move from that place(Peerie Spiggie) @3:15. Also, if you're interested the big stack you photographed @ 13:02 is called Ern Stack. Ern is the Shetland/Old Norse name for White-tailed Eagle. I do quite a bit of exploring in Shetland and can safely say you've barely scratched the surface so you'll have to come back!. PS, hire a small car next time ;)
Hi there! Thank you very much for the lovely comment. :) They mentioned how the Scottish Access Code specifies a certain distance away from a main road/footpath for categorizing as "wild camping". And we were in fact extremely close to one. So I guess it was fair enough. The landowner was indeed very nice about it as well, so we happily moved on. I did wonder what the stack is called after I returned, but found no joy on the internet. Is it because it resembles an eagle when looked from a certain angle? Shetland definitely is a very special place and I do miss it from time to time. One of my many regrets was Lang Ayre. Hopefully I will be standing on those red cliffs one day. :)
@@sheppardliphotography Hello, hmm, it seems some landowners "pay attention" to the access code and I guess if he was very nice about it then that's fair enough but it still feels a bit odd!. It's called Ern Stack/Stakk because its where White Tailed Eagles must've lived and nested. When our Norse ancestors arrived they named the land after what they saw. Ah, yes the Lang Ayre, that's a place I'll need to visit myself!.
Hello, hope you are doing well! I've been learning Scottish Gaelic, and it was interesting to notice that there's a place on Lewis that's also named after white-tailed eagle. It's Iolaire suil na greine in Gaelic, and it means the bird with the sunlit eye, which I find quite beautiful.
@@sheppardliphotography Hi, yes, although there's no history of Gaelic in Shetland I know the White Tailed Eagle is more established in the west coast of Scotland so I can understand a place being named after it(in Gaelic) :) .
Having been to Shetland a lot with work (have a full playlist of videos from there) and going up at the end of this month for a 2 week holiday, I really enjoyed this video. You could tell the passion you had for the photos and the scenery! Seems like you guys had a good trip! Watched this at work so now come back whilst logged in to give you a like and a comment! Subbed as well!

Great video! Some videos of the wilder and more remote places in Shetland on my page.
Lovely! Would love to go back one day to explore more!
you have the same passion Sir David Attenborough has -
Wow, thank you very much. Maybe a similar passion but hardly the expertise :)
