This series is definitely one of the things I look forward to watching after work while winding down. Just great views, a good layout, and most importantly. Having fun with it, and trying different stuff. I'm loving the slow crawl forward towards downtown. I hope eventually you'll have a nice pier with possibly an amusement park? Cannot wait for next video.

Usually, I go with square layouts and space everything out. But your builds are blended so well with the look of realism. Honestly, I have scrapped after purchasing the second lot. But your work truly inspires me to keep playing at a slow pace by accumulating wealth.

The level of accessibility to building concepts that you're able to achieve in your videos is a credit to you. I'm glad that so many new players are tuning in to your channel. With 2,500 hours build time under my belt, it can be difficult to break out of old habits and building styles but your various series have engaged me with their humour and awesome content, so that every time I load up the old skylines it feels like I've got something new to try again. 15/10 good egg rating from me!

This city seems like a good opportunity to try out both walking tours and some tourist bus lines. I have never really used them, but there are many "destination" spots here that might draw visitors. And some paths zigzagging up the cliff would create awesome views as well as increasing the walking connections between the different areas of the city.

I love this build style!!! Can't wait for you to start high density downtown. I hope you make a drive through video in this series. I love to see big numbers of passengers in train, metro and mono. I am looking forward to see how you integrate these transports in your high density areas. I think this green city area will look good with wall to wall specialization at the city centre.

Loving this build! 😍re: connectivity... Well, it just so happens that there is an abandoned mineshaft rail under Mad Mountain that would be perfect to repurpose into a tram-only link between the Mid-Century Modern suburb and the new Green suburb. Trams only would prevent it from turning into a busy traffic corridor. (Pedestrian area road with tram through tunnel would be weird but effective!)

Hey Egg! Just wanted to say that I'm absolutely loving this series (have been bingeing it while I wait for Thessia to start 😅) - and also just wanted to let you know that the playlist is a bit out of order? If you don't mind then that's cool, but FYI the "ultimate train & tram combo" episode, and this one, are not quite where they should be in the playlist if you wanted to rearrange it for any future viewers. I got super confused when the city had suddenly grown a tonne between episodes lol.
Also looks like the farms & fields episode hasn't been added to the playlist from what I can see.
Anyway, back to bingeing! Hope you're doing well 😊

I canf quite fit you in the underrated category...you're an unreal vanilla builder...I follow along on console, and it drives me crazy that I cant put together a custom forest brush or detail along the roads the way you do. Of course, I can finagle it a little more slowly...but, I want to stay following along. I've played this game a lot... but expansion has always been the hardest part. So, thank you for being you, Egg! A real one. And a great content creator for those of us that have no choice.

great episode! i usually dont watch vanilla content because i know i ll never have the patience to use classic mechanics of the game but you nailed it!
Also, the huge amount of people that want to go there may be asking for an upgrade of the public transport system. I think you should upgrade the bus line to a tram line or even build a metro. I imagine the metro line coming out of the hill and heading to the city. It would look amazing!
Also, i think building a bike path to the city would help

That is quite a unique build and it very happily settles onto the side of that hill. Amazing how busy that bus line is, would not have expected so many cims to prefer such a long bus-route over their pocket cars. And I'm going to shamelessly steal the idea with the nature-reserve log-bench for using it in playgrounds - was immediately recognizable what you tried to do there to me.

I’m loving the 2 episodes a week, and just like every other episode this one doesn’t disappoint. I’ve used this area to dump my garbage processing and sewerage processing in my play along. Will need to move this…. Also, wrapped the small 4 lane from mid century all the way around, part elevated along the river. Hope that takes the pressure off. But also thinking need to get some bike lanes direct from new green cities… bike lane tunnel under the mountain?

Little tip : the water towers snap to the pipe's height. So to stop it from sinking into the ground, place it off a pipe or delete the bit of existing pipe that is beneath it, then reconnect it. I hate my water towers sinking into the ground like that.
I would also put the bus stop by the school, for the aesthetic of having people waiting out front (and the little bus stop it adds onto the sidewalk). But those are just details.

  • @JMWZ_E
    @JMWZ_E 2 роки тому

Oh, I really love your transport infrastructure ...
An alternative bus hub layout could be as following: 19:40 convert the square to one-ways with the directionality of this green bus line. The road with the bus stop could have multiple parallel one-way roads, each with a bus stop for every new line. Of course, two or three less busy lines with lower amounts of vehicles might also share their bus bay - this mitigates the growing demand for more and more space.
Maybe we see this version in one of your future bus hubs.
While custom bus hubs are quite flexible, assets like 28:28 are not - they only allow right turns into the hub and right turns exiting the hub causing bus line to weirdly loop around the block. Replacing the road in front of those bus hubs by one-way couplets with a U-turn option can remedy that. Positioning them in cul-de-sacs is an alternative approach.

Another awesome build Egg! I love how it came together in the end. As for the space near the forestry, maybe something Dawson-esque? A cute community with an interesting shape and bustling town centre! It would also be an excuse to use a historical train station? Maybe as one of the only ways in and out to really solidify that this is a small town? I think it would fit in nicely, especially for a more ‘rural’ or ‘regional’ part of the city! Plus, they would get some awesome shots of Downtown!

Since the collector system in Winfors Hills is so steep, would it be appropriate to a trolleybus? They're much better at climbing hills than regular buses. And hillier cities in the US like Seattle and San Francisco have them.

The only suggestions I would make is to change the roads in the new area to cycling ones, and maybe add a cycling pathway along the river to connect to the cycling network on the other side of the mountain. That should ease off some of the bus traffic. Maybe convert the walking path under the Castle to a bike or shared pathway to add bike traffic all the way down the river linking both sides of the city. Very inspiring build. The TLC given to each area raises the quality to the next level.

Stunning as always! I did have a proposal for “Future Egg 🥚”. I was wondering if maybe there can be a “Spicy Vanilla” build with Traffic Manager to turn despawn traffic off? I think it’ll also be a wonderful challenge to build, expand, and wonderfully detail a map while battling traffic and may have to rethink and redesign. 90% of most peoples issues is traffic and how to manage it. If you want to get rid of parking lots on pedestrian roads then zone 2 deep and 3 deep commercial zoning. You generally get the same buildings as 4 deep but minus parking. If you do get pesky parking on the back or sides of buildings you can run a bicycle path behind as a bit of an alley look.

My biggest concern is the road coming out of the tunnel having residential directly on it, that just seems a bit off to me, those houses right at the tunnel mouth would be getting a lot of echoed sound and make it not a desirable location. Maybe some residential, or small office space would be a bit better there?

The purpose is to use a low power pump to fill the tower slowly at non-peak times and then let gravity supply the pressure to send the water out to customers. However because the water tower is lower than the new area, it would need to be supplemented by pumps which defeats the whole purpose building the tower in the first place. I do really enjoy your builds. I think you really do build sharp looking cities!

    Great stuff.
    1. I don't think the green village gota firestation.
    2. Regarding your buses - I would have added a line to the first bus hub you created in an early episode.
    3. You are providing excellent connectivity to the bigger island on the coast - but very limited to the one to left of Slaneech' Slippers ( when seen from the maps original starting point). Would that case problems for you?

Got a nice chuckle out of the comment about the bus line later going mental 😂

Hello Egg, really love all of your builds! If you have a chance, i'm curious about kind of trees you use on your build guide brush? Really appreciate if you can explain it on your next videos. Thank you and keep up the good work, egg!! 😁

Nice job, have you considered running a tourist cable car up to the mountains to the viewing platforms?

I’d love to see the green cities residents get better access to the nature reserve mountain if it’s possible

Hey Egg what about doing a tram only run directly through the mountain?!?!? As soon as it comes out of the mountain it goes directly into an elevated tram line that runs straight up to that busy bus stop or have a little park life cheese in that green space behind the houses close to the river.
You could turn that part into a park or pedestrian area and run a tram line through the mountain and have a bicycle path on one side and a normal path on the other side of the tram line running parallel to it through the mountain.
It won’t take much away from the natural vibe and is not something I have seen you do on one of your series before.
