Welcome to the Channel! I'm glad you are enjoying it. Thank you for the info on the macaron and macaroon. I love trying new desserts from the food pantry! Have a wonderful day.
Hi Sarah, love what you did with your Tea Pot that little Gold holder you placed it on made the Yellow flowers even more beautiful . Has always I enjoy how you fix your meals, Their so pretty& Yummy looking ! I think the the orange idea is great . Have a great week , see you on Friday God Bless!! Oh & that was a great score of the week ! Meat always comes in handy for a good meal . See ya Friday! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🍵
@rhondarogers1946 Thank you so much for your kind words! I enjoy finding objects at the thrift store that are "new" to me. Putting together pretty plates help make meals more enjoyable for me. I hope the orange slices dry well, we shall see! I hope you have a wonderful week and see you on Friday!
@tinaengle8989 Hi Tink! Thank you for letting me know, I'm glad you liked the meals! Yes, the cookies were really big, and delicious, that recipe is on point! The sky was so pretty, I just couldn't believe the color of it, so pink. I hope you have a great night, Tink!
@robyncolless6016 Thank you! I could give that a try and bring those plants inside. I hope they make it! Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed my video!
I was shocked by the price of those Italian cookies - $25!!!! I don't know if they are worth that much. My grandmother used to call baking soda Sodium Bicarb. She would put some in a glass of water and drink it if she had heartburn.
@barbarahudson4727 I'm curious what those cookies would have cost before everything got so high! Maybe they were at the food pantry because folks just aren't paying those high prices anymore, not sure, but I'm so glad to get them! I've heard of baking soda being good for heartburn, the Grandmas knew how to fix everything. So much knowledge. Sodium Bicarb is a cute way to call it what it is (probably more accurate, too!)
sara, always a joy to see what you get and what you find. great looking meals. enjoy your tea and 1/2 cookie. keep thinking positive. (advice i need to heed too)
@karenjones1897 Hi Karen! Thank you so much, I really enjoy preparing plates and making them as pretty as I can! I have more variety in my diet because of the food pantry. Dumpster diving has been a great way to get some good free stuff. Drinking teas throughout the day and evening is medicinal for me. And yes positive thinking is the way to go, I agree with you Karen!
I was so food insecure and my ebt came in with back pay I had to clean out the freezer and throw out frozen foods. Not good for me full of salt have four giant turkeys in there. I have to make banana bread enchilada casserole, chocolate chip cookies.... The bread i picked up tuesday went bad. In grade school we made ornaments out of lids put a picture inside and bordered it with something
@laurac5451 I am very happy for your EBT benefits! That's great that you are "upgrading" your options in the freezer! Yes, bread does not last for me either. When I have the fridge space, I keep bread there. I love your idea to make ornaments from jar lids, thank you!
Hi Sarah! 👋🏻 I liked everything about your video…the still photos included. Looking forward to your next videos. I hope you enjoyed your tea-it all looked wonderful. Have a pleasant week. 👋🏻😀
@judygriffing1276 Hi Judy! Thank you! I'm glad you liked the photos of the meals, I wanted to share more plates of what I put together. The tea was terrific. Every day is a tea day! Have a great day and see you on Friday (and hopefully Sunday for the bedroom tour!)
Happy Tuesday! I enjoyed seeing all your meals - they look delicious. What a great haul this week! I liked the quilt on your table, very colorful. And speaking of colorful, wow that sky! Just gorgeous. You live in a lovely area. I hope you have a super week! Stay cozy. 🍁❤
@tamsenbrodin5819 I'm glad to know that the meals were a hit! The quilt is from the 1950's and some maintenance must be done; I do love the quilt being vintage and handmade. Yes, the sky was an amazing color. It does not always look that way, so catching a glimpse of it lit up pink was wonderful! Thank you for watching and I hope your week is wonderful, too!
@melodyshaw9329 Mr. Turtle is so cute! Brussel sprouts are hard to chew and I tend to remove the "core" from salads if I remember. Thank you for watching and God Bless You, too!
It's a blessing to be able to get "high end" baked goods at the food pantry, it's unusual but happy for the opportunity! $25 retail is way outside of my budget for some cookies!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel I wouldn’t pay $25 for them either. Outside my budget too. It’s good they are available to those who could use it. More places need to donate.
It’s nice to be able to try specialty items that I would not buy due to high price! It’s shocking to see some of the prices on the items. There are many more people using the food pantry services these days.
@@CareFreeLivingChannel prices are getting ridiculous. Your pantry gives a lot of fresh fruit and veg. Big plus for you. I quit buying things that are overpriced. I make a lot more from scratch or just do without it. I am unwilling to pay the steep prices. Eggs go up, I eat more oatmeal. Fresh fruit goes up, I buy canned. I feel bad for the elderly that don’t qualify for help and don’t make enough from retirement for food.
My food pantry qualifies folks according to their income. Before I qualified, food was a problem off and on. During that time, I earned too much to qualify for EBT, and did not have much knowledge about food pantries. I found eating vegetables was the least expensive route for me to take. During that time, I ate very little meat or even eggs. If you know someone that does not qualify, it might help to talk with the intake coordinator, about alternative pantries in the area that may be able to help!
Hi, Sarah just wanted to reach out to let you know that I love your videos period The introduction with the little socks is so cute. And your voice is so soothing and always puts me in a relaxing mode. Keep up the good work, thank you very much.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@nikkiblackwell9553 Thank you for sharing how you feel! It makes me happy to know my videos are received well! I do try to remove my outdoor shoes when inside, it just helps keep things more neat and tidy. In my trailer life, having cozy socks and slippers make a big difference! Thank you so much for watching my videos!
Hi Sarah! It really is great to see the wonderful foods you get at your food pantry. You eat very well. Good for you! 👍 😊 You have great self control just eating 1/2 a cookie! Not me! 😅 Have a great weekend!
@christophervogt7456 Hi Chris! Yes, the food pantry definitely offers me more variety in my diet. I love the fruits and veggies! The sweet treats are great for this time of year if I can make the portions work for me. Some days are easier than others. I hope you have a great weekend, too, Chris!
Those mushrooms look amazing and oh I would love to have some of those pistachios. I love them so much. Great score by getting those vitamins. Oh I really like that weekly planner thing that's cool. If you come across a really neat photo or decorative piece of paper, you could always put that behind it as well. Those berries do look very good. Martin midlife mis adventures just did a video on getting smells out of pickle jars and things like that.
@DisabledandPrepping I'm really glad to get the vitamins, it is a big help! I absolutely love your idea about adding decorative paper to the back of the Weekly Planner, thank you! The berries are wonderful especially as the weather cools down. Has your weather gotten cold yet? I'll have to check out the MMM channel you mentioned for the pickle jar smells, thank you!
@CareFreeLivingChannel And with the paper idea on the back of the weekly planner, you can change it up depending on the season as well. The weather here has gotten cold. I've been stuck inside for a while now. Except for 1 day was pretty nice out and I got out to a few really close stores. Today it's really gloomy out and 46°.
@DisabledandPrepping I like that idea, too! To put "seasonal" paper on the weekly planner. The change in darkness is taking a bit to get used to. Getting dark at 5 pm just not ready for it! I'm glad you got one nice day for your outings.
@@CareFreeLivingChannel Yeah it gets really dark here really early as well. It's a little after five thirty p m and it looks like midnight out there. I'm really not used to it either.
I'm finally getting back to you about my nutrition app. It's so handy. I can search for common food like apples or butter, also lists a lot of brand name foods. Plus I can add items, but I don't always know the micronutrients. I can even enter recipe ingredients and save the recipe, tell it how many servings I'm dividing into and it does the math. That helps me count carbs so I know how much insulin to take. Too bad I haven't entered much yet!
@hoosierpioneer That is fantastic! I'm happy the App is working out well for you. I love beneficial technology. I'm sure you'll enter more as time goes on. I use pen and paper to track some of my health goals, and just tracking it so important. Apps or old-fashioned way, tracking help stay the course! Every step in the direction of your goals can lead to big results!
@@CareFreeLivingChannel Most labels don't list the nutrients I track, and I don't have to search all over for themm in fresh produce That's how the app is helping me.
You're doing smart by getting the best they have. Just get a little extra to put aside. I wash jars in extremely hot water with a brush and dish soap, rinse with vinegar and rinse in cold water after that. Sometimes add baking soda. The only jars i don't mess with are pickle jars. I refer to any pickled veggies. No matter what I've tried, i can still smell it. Do those cookies have any nuts, chocolate chunks and butter in them?
@janedow5366 Thank you! There is a small round cookie that may have nuts from the big tray. Good ideas on the jars! The pickle jar is definitely a challenge (the jar does not smell anymore but the lid has a very pickle smell).
@@CareFreeLivingChannel made by hands, that rocks the price. If there is any butter instead of who knows what, that is also a factor. After that, sprinkles, any specialty sugars, chocolate, nuts or dry fruit always brings the price up. If you can't smell the pickles in the jar, you can always use a different lid. I can smell pickles no matter what, so I gave up. Love tomato sauce jars and one brand of Ranch I still use used to have glass jars. Now it's plastic, but I got enough for extra spices.
@janedow5366 That makes sense about the cookie prices. Saving glass jars is a great way to get extra storage. I'm still working on the lids, especially for the pickle jar!
