Talk about a lack of self awareness 😂, have any of these people actually had a look at themselves in the mirror, it’s not like they have super model looks 😂
I don't think that a lot of the humour in these 'bizarre' record covers is really about anyone's plain looks, but more about the layouts, tone or extremely dated aesthetic. I mean the "Use Me Jesus" title is hilarious, and the way the three heads were arranged made them look like they were those wobble headed dashboard ornaments. And those sixties perm hairdos combined with horn rimmed glasses were a bit confronting even back in the sixties. Meanwhile the Ken and ventriloquist doll ones just looked creepy. So it's more a comment on the album cover designers than anything else.
the joke goes over her head , she just doesn't get it . she had a vastly different upbringing / culture to the others .this type of situation happens alot . also GN using the Americanism " i'm good " instead of" i'm OK , no thanks , i'm fine " etc . ggggrrr !
If you track the reactions of most pop and movie stars from the USA, you will notice they are rather restraint, maybe both out of consideration for other people, as well as from the intelligence that the rest of that show is sometimes lacking, when it falls into bigger silliness than the one they want to mock. Apart from the degree of jadedness they may have developed, or else the grooming they may have received to avoid being singled out as offenders to this or that group of people.
It is PC in the US and good breeding to NOT slander or shame people for their looks! If you have nothing nice to say you are expected to keep quiet. You see her shocked face. This "hilarious" fun making is quite english. Would they have dared to make fun of stupid looking asian or black people? That is why.
@@johannalange802 - They're not making fun of their looks but their retro or dated styling and vibe. It is funny - given the chance, Ken would probably laugh at his fashion sense from back then, too. You people honestly take everything far too seriously.
Weird trying to imagine a world where it didn't matter what a singer looked like as long as they had a talent to sing. No make up industry, plastic surgery or semi porn outfits. Just keep laughing everyone that was the world your parents knew you have left your kids a much worse one !
I see what you're saying, and in many ways, I agree. It shouldn't matter what someone looks like, their singing should matter most. But I think there's almost always been a make up industry. I think you might have to go back to Shakespeare before you can find a time when there was no make up industry. Or maybe just go back to before the industrial revolution to when there was make up but it wasn't mass produced. As to a time when looks weren't as important, that might be when there was radio, but no television. Or even before radio, but they did have records. Or before records when they only had sheet music. They did have Vaudeville stage acts, and I suspect looks were still pretty important there, except in comedy routines. But the album covers shown here looked to be from the 60s and 70s, and looks were still very important for the most popular singers of that time. I think record producers still took that into consideration.
"Barbie is buried under the patio" that one nearly killed me :'D
It was an oldie but a goodie
The close-up looked like a recreation of a person based on a skeleton when the police are trying to identify the victim

Ren 89 she was a judge on UK “The Voice” for a few seasons.
She seemed to get exactly what was going on to me.

Top right Faith Tone has to be Stephen Fry in drag.
+WalterLiddy Yes and on the left we have the chubby Brendan Fraser. The middle one looks familiar also. Perhaps somebody can point out who he is.
+kumppi Looks like an innumerable version of a Disney Channel actor.
I was thinking Frank Skinner,Matt Lucas and Stephen Fry
You are so right! She looks just like the drag characters Stephen played in "A Bit of Fry and Laurie."
100%.
"I am your vessel!" Best line ever!

I'm not into her style of music but in the 90's K.D. Lang's voice was one of the best.
I can't believe that no one mentioned Ricky's hair. It was equally beautiful.
