Last year I made this exact arch with my dad, per your directions. It was our last project together. He passed away a couple months later before he could walk me down the aisle. Next month my fiance and I will say our vows under this arch. It will be beautiful and bittersweet. I just want to thank The Sorry Girls for helping me create a memory I'll never forget with my dad.
My daughter asked me to build one for her wedding. Your comment makes me sad and I'm so sorry for your loss! Now I think I'm gonna see if my daughter wants to help me just because we really never had a lot of time with similar interests. And life's just short!
This might not be something Becky is comfortable with, but it would be awesome to see a video about budgeting for the wedding! I'm sure these diy's have helped save a lot of money! Loved the video as always :)
Just wanted to take the time to say... This video is GREAT! I'm building an arbour/arch for my fiancee and I. We're getting married in a couple of weeks and I'm nearly finished. When I set out to start building one, I always had in my mind something exactly like this, so I'm really happy I found your video. It's exactly the style I wanted and your step-by-step tutorial is perfect. Really clear and concise! As a side note, I love that two young women have by far the best video for building an arch on UA-cam. Puts all the carpentry "expert" men to shame. Great work team!
I just introduced my sister in law to TheSorryGirls! My brother and sister in law wanted to diy most stuff because we're having family from overseas coming and we are funding their flights so all these wedding diys are really helpful- most of the stuff you girls have made is what they wanted anyways!
We made your arch for my sister's wedding and it was super easy and came out amazing! The total cost was only $54 (not including the decor). Your instructions and measurements were precise and easy to follow. Thank you so much!
Becky, I know weddings are a private thing but it would be lovely if you uploaded a wedding video (only if you're totally okay with it ☺️). Been following this wedding series closely and I am in love!! Wish you and your future husband all the best ❤️ PS love how Kelsey is so supportive
All of these wedding videos bring me so much joy! These are amazing. I never thought I would have to have a beautiful wedding but these make it so much more affordable! Keep the wedding videos coming!
I love the idea that you can keep this arch at the bottom of your garden forever. And maybe get a chair or something to sit in it looking out over the lake.
Thanks for sharing your design. We're doing a renewal of vows for our Son that had a courthouse wedding and my wife wanted an arch for the event. While I might make a few minor "tweaks" to the design, you gave me a great foundation to start from.
Ladies, the design I like. To speed up this assembly process, consider using the Kreg Drilling system. With the plugs to fill the holes. Predrilling holes makes assembly a snap. Also, most Lowe's or Home Depot stores have a rack of twisted or cracked lumber, usually painted Purple, this lumber is marked down nearly 40%. Much of it is completely fine to utilize in projects just like this. Yes I realize your goals to keep costs down. In the end, it is the Final decorations that help to pull eyes away from the aspects of construction. Yes very well done. It is awesome to you provided the dimensions of the pieces of wood.
Please keep these coming! I found you guys right before these wedding videos and binged your videos starting with Thrift Flips, but these wedding videos keep me coming back bc I'm planning a wedding too. Love everything you do and can't wait for y'all to get the 1 million subs you deserve. Easily my fave UA-camrs! Love you ladies
I made a promise to myself that when I get married, I'll diy a lot of stuff, since we're short on money as a family and i'm not really one for a church wedding. This series is really lovely :) just the kind of vibe i'd want to do for my own wedding :)
Amazing. Your instructions were spot on. I went right to Lowe's and got the wood cut and picked up all the other items needed that I didn't already have. What I hated though was the mitterbox. It was way too much work and the saw it came with was horrible but other than that everything was perfect Great job ladies
How do you guys know how to do everything? ^^ This is looks lovely! Do you do a lot of research before starting any project? How long does that usually take?
Glad to stumble upon this...shotgun COVID wedding and arbor/arch - less. A guy very thankful for the SorryGirls! Thanks for the great tutorial! Now to get to the 'doin...
when I was in 6th grade and in girl scouts my troop threw a sock hop as a sock/underwear drive. Mom bought a metal round garden arch. With lots of work my parents and I built a giant decorative jukebox. My dad hid behind it and played DJ and mom helped with soda floats. It was a blast but my favorite part was scrambling till 2 am the night before to get it finished.
Hello Girls, this is the first time I seen your videos. And I really loved it. Saving it to show my daughter-in-law too be. I hope she likes it as much as I do or at least get some ideas out of it. Thanks for sharing your new fan.
I would spend a little money and get a more decorative or upscale white fabric. It looks like a sheet is wrapped around the beautiful arch you spent the time making.
Hello. Just a tip. When using a circular saw. You want to allow the peice that is being cut off to fall unrestricted. This will reduce the dangerous kickback you feel on the saw towards the end of the cut (2:41). This kickback does indeed lead to many injuries. However. Great video and great finished product. 😊 bub
Amazing stuff. I just made one by following your instructions! Any thoughts on how I can make it easier to transport it to the wedding venue? Either by making it easy to assemble or by maybe making it foldable?
My a fiancé is using this as a help guide to make us an arch for our wedding! He is actually going to be making 2 of them and the building a top for it so after the wedding he can put a swing on it for me!
As a European, we made this arch today and thought it would be nice to share our dimensions. We used wood of 5x9 cm. 3 pieces of 210 cm, 6 pieces of 66 cm (longest side) and 2 pieces of 132 cm (yours are shorter but otherwise we would have leftover of the wood that we found at the hardware store). We used a mix of shrews of 7 and 11 cm long. We choose the width of the arch on the inside to be 174 cm and left the top piece stick out 18 cm on each side. For anyone wondering: very sturdy.
Hey girls!!! I love all your DIY stuff and even more the wedding ones. I was wondering if you could make a video of bridesmaid gift ideas. I would love a DIY for those personalized hangers. They are so expensive, is trying to find an option for them or diy them with IKEA hangers. But since you're the queens of diy you would probably already have ideas for that! 😁 Love you guys!
thank you so much....I am both wedding planner and mother of the bride. Its very exhausting, but I suck it up because I want my daughter to have the most beautiful wedding on a very low budget. I am disabled and its hard, but I would do anything for her. Thanks for this video!!
@@keshacaraker326 Hello about a 2 hours maybe. We did all the cuts first then screwed it together. I stained it a dark walnut a different day, it was beautiful.
I made this arbor for my son and daughter in law's wedding. It turned out perfect and beautiful. They want to keep it in their back yard forever. I had my 4 adult sons carry it to our venue and home again, though it was only down the street from our home. It's not that heavy it's just awkward to carry. A pickup truck would work but you would want to make sure that it is secured down very well and perhaps if it's not a long trip someone could sit in the back and make sure it doesn't wobble over and fall out.
Sure this isn't a timely response...but I used carriage bolts to attach some of the pieces. This allowed me to have minimal onsite assembly. BTW - thanks to the SorryGirls!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just lost my dad in July and my wedding is in June. My thoughts are with you, I hope you had a beautiful wedding day!
My heart goes out to you ladies. Lost my mom 6 years ago too. I am getting married in 3 weeks, I know how u both feel. Hugs to you ladies❤️❤️🙏
Oh this is so beautiful and heartbreaking!

I agree, knowing a budget would help have things in perspective!

Amazing, thank you so much! Do you have a rough sense of how much the material for the arch cost in total?
I know this is about the arch and it's so beautiful, but - Becky's hairstyle is like... I can't even. It so pretty!!

I love your choice of greenery and florals 💚
Thanks for sharing this awesome and easy tutorial. It sure will help me to make the arch that I need.
AH! I'm making the arbor for my wedding in October and this video is what I'll use! THANK YOU!
Im getting married next year and this inspired me to make my own arch! and once the wedding is over i think itll look really cute in my backyard :)

I’m having a very small backyard wedding on July 7th. Gonna send this video to my brother-in-law to see if he’ll build this for it. Thanks girls!!

This is such a well-timed video as I'm currently trying out how to make one of these for my wedding, with leftover deckboards I have!
Hi, I'm a Brazilian bride and I loved this diy. I'll probably reproduce at my wedding. ♥
I made an arbor for my daughters wedding. Decorating it right made all the difference. This should be a training video for guys getting married.
I've been watching you guys since forever and it's honestly really emotional (in the best way) to see how much you guys have grown 💕 again, congrats!
Awe! We love seeing you guys grow with us! 💕
Please ad a list along with the video! That would be so great for the ones who actually want to do the projects.
Thanks for this! Just made my alter following these instructions and it turned out great! ❤️
Amanda Florendo about how much did the supplies cost you? I plan to do this too

Ohhh Way To Cute Guys! Don't know what I would do without some DIY!😍
Thank you for this video! I’m going to make this next week to have for styled photoshoots! 🥰 I’m very excited!
You guys should really get a pocket jig to pre still those diagonal holes, makes the job a lot easier, also not a big piece of equipment
My aunt asked me to make this for her wedding! I'm so excited to try it. I'll be making a video of it. Soooo exciting! Becky your wedding was GOALS

I used these plans in July and stained the wood. It was beautiful! (See my profile pic)

Especially with lights on it ☺
That would be an awesome addition!!
I'm loving the wedding videos!
It looks amazing! 😍😍
I love these wedding videos
Yay! Love that you're loving them!
Love it! Does anyone have any tips on how to transport this to the location? Looks too big for a pick up truck lol
My plan is to pre-cut the wood and assemble at the venue
How about taking it apart partly, and then reassembling
