Michael Schulze Frohlich or at least the illusion of the coziness (because I know there’s always a bunch of people from crew behind the camera). But I don’t want to see some ghostly faces from the audience, I mean??? The audience weren’t even reacting that much in this clip
Yess the circle interviews are awkward and those not talking have to look interested and smile and the one talking feels very self conscious . Not raw convos - too proper
The audience in the background is weird. I liked the intimate feel of this series. I feel like the people being there will affect the actors responses to questions.
armie is so articulate. i wish he had meatier roles tbh now that i've seen him in cmbyn. he has range and is a fantastic actor. i want to see him and margot robbie in a movie. =)
the actors seemed stiff & more guarded/cautious with the addition of the audience. and what's the point of having a live audience?? no sense at all. most probably even their interactions and reactions with each other would be affected even if they say it won't- it's human nature. hate this format!
This was the first live version of Hollywood Reporter thats why there is an audience. They announced it on their insta page. Dont worry guys its not gonna happen every time! 😊
Do you ask the same question about straight 'intimate scenes' to actors too? Isn't it just an actor's job to do the acting, whatever the scene is? Would you ask Mathew McConughey how comfortable he felt acting as an HIV positive person in Dallas Buyers' Club? Or, did he actually contract HIV to act on those scenes? How irrelevant !
Pretty sure I've seen Kate & Leo talk about their relationship on & off camera in Titanic. A decade later they made another movie together. Armie & Timothee lived together for months filming, have been promoting their move together for a year. Why shouldn't they feel free to talk about their relationship on & off camera? Is it taboo?
This is a toxic question that is asked to many actors and actresses regardless of the sexual orientation of their characters. It's sucks that this has to be asked but yeah... it's the industry
Avalon Young Why does it matter? It's performance. Actors act. If it was a non-issue for you you wouldn't be concerned. Armie & Timothee have been promoting their movie for a year.
The REALLY funny part about the yo-yo expert is that Cranston misidentifies the trick-he was miming “rock the cradle “ (or “rock the baby”) claiming it was “walk the dog”, which is “dragging” the yo-yo along the ground.
Hopefully first and last live round table. Agree with everyone that the audience just feels awkward. However, I do like that they had a mix of male and female actors in this one. So I hope they stick with the actor, actress, and a mix round table each year.
I'm dating myself here.... But, I don't know what I was more impressed with, the movie or the fact that there was an original Talking Heads t-shirt in it.. lol... It's been so long ago. But, I think I had one of those exact same shirts back in the 80's.... Once I saw it in the movie, it looked mighty familiar to me. You do know with age, comes loss of memory. But certain things will spark a memory so faintly... lol
I just love Armie Hammer!! And I don't care about all you silly little cry babies with your canibal comments or your stupid "ew, these comments didn't age well"......blablabla Armie you are gorgeous and you deserve the world!
Near the end of Call Me By Your Name, Elio [Timothee Chalamet] sits down with his father for a heart-to-heart talk -- but the father does all the talking and imparts much wisdom to his son.
The Batman is more fit to Armie better than Robert with respect. He got this Bruce Wayne persona,i mean the low voice, the looks,i mean the whole of Armie Hammer is a Batman package.Robert should play The Joker instead.just saying
Where is the full roundtable. Shouldn't they've all come out before the Oscars. I mean it would make sense seeing how the Oscars is that last big awards show of the year.
Armie Hammer is damn lucky he wasn't in the same roundtable as Billy Porter. Even though the best actor for each individual part shouldn't be based on the actor's sexuality or of the character's sexuality.
The audience is unnecessary. The actors will have a harder time at expressing themselves in the most authentic way that they usually can when they're alone.
I am fan of Armie's, and I like him a lot in all the interviews he did for the movie, but I still feel he is a miscast in Call me by your name. The character is supposed to be a 23 years old university student, with all the youthfulness a guy of that age has; Armie, as handsome as he is, looks and feels like a 33 years old in the movie, which makes the love story between Oliver and Elio far less credible for the movie audience. In fact, I felt the pairing looked odd in the first half of the movie. And the daddy shirt they have him wore didn't help either. I did warm up to the pairing in the second half of the movie though.
It's not meant to be a pairing of equals. Oliver is supposed to be older (by 7 years) and embody the masculine Greek god-like ideal worthy of Elio's obsession. The character is intended as an almost superhuman manifestation that shatters Elio's world. Both actors are older than their characters (yet only 9 years apart in age), but the casting seems perfect to me. In Gone with the Wind Scarlett is 16 while Rhett is 33 (at the beginning). Twice her age, yet nobody seemed to mind.
When I saw the trailer, I totally thought the same thing as you. He looked a little old to play Oliver, but after watching the movie and going through a bunch of Armie's and Timothee's interviews, I couldn't imagine anyone else as Oliver. Their chemistry was beyond anything I've ever seen in romance films. Luca guadagnino was right to cast them two. Yes, he didn't look like a 24 year old, but sometimes it's about more than just physical appearance.
D ACTING. Armie is also not twins, the Lone Ranger, Russian, or a fairytale prince. Just watched 1936 Romeo & Juliet - entire cast were middle-aged. But lovely production of Shakespeare. Armie's performance certainly seems to make audiences willing to suspend disbelief & commit to the story.
It's annoying that they didn't cast gay actors. I believe they could have found gay, equally talented actors, but then this film would have gotten no attention b/c people like that straight people are having to do "risky," "challenging" roles.
There was no "they" - this isn't a studio movie or a big budget movie where studio bosses or financiers had a say on content or casting. When you say "they" you mean Luca Guadagnino - who is gay himself. He specifically wanted these actors for the roles. He picked them because of their talent and because of what they were like as people - open, generous, unprejudiced. One wishes everyone was... including you. Anyway, I'm glad the director was, because both actors did a fabulous job, and the chemistry was amazing.
come on guys don't ruin the coziness of this discussions by adding an audience it destroys the core of what makes these great.
Michael Schulze Frohlich or at least the illusion of the coziness (because I know there’s always a bunch of people from crew behind the camera). But I don’t want to see some ghostly faces from the audience, I mean??? The audience weren’t even reacting that much in this clip
This
This guy is so underrated, he's versatile and an awesome actor!
He is just like an 60' s actor very charming
No no no, don’t have an audience these are supposed to be intimate discussions between entertainers
jleon i agree - the audience makes the actors have their guard up and act more proper
@@sherwinh1661 Yeah I agree
I do not need to be afraid of being bisexual anymore, Call Me by your Name, changed my life!
McDreamy!!!!
aw that's amazing to hear!
yes good for you!!
Mine too 🥺❤️
Same i am an Indian too
Armie's performance as oliver was extraordinary & outstanding! & i am particularly impressed by how articulate & humorous he is
Armie just being himself... It's amazing how he always gets people laugh of everything he said...
I enjoy how engaged Octavia Spencer looks, while listening to Armie.
Borislav Nikolov I would look engaged listening to Armie. While not hearing a damned word. Could watch Man From U.N.C.L.E. with the sound off.
There is no need for an audience...
Yess the circle interviews are awkward and those not talking have to look interested and smile and the one talking feels very self conscious . Not raw convos - too proper
The audience in the background is weird. I liked the intimate feel of this series. I feel like the people being there will affect the actors responses to questions.
I was just about to say that!
This.
Listen to this THR!!
Omar Correa Agreed
Omar Correa same, I also dislike that they are uploading clips instead of the whole long interview as before
love Armie, he delivered a great performance in call me by your name
Armie’s voice 😘 i can hear him talking all day long.. or maybe forever.
i dunno, his voice sounds a bit too strict fatherly to me.
and you won't even notice that he's eaten your left rib
Why am I always smiling when Armie talks?
That guy is so damn charming - and cute!!!
💀
ARMIE IS SO DAMN FINE.
The audience is more than unnecessary
Why is there an audience? This such an unnecessary change from an already great setup
Yes, that monologue was incredible.
Armie, Armie, Armie you did it man you preformance was fantastic. Hope for the Oscars nomination!!!
That dad speech is incredible
he is so charming and well spoken !!! he's always such a delight on interviews
Most of their behaviour is coached and not authentic sadly.
The audience is very cringy
The audience ruins this intimate close up series. :(
Armie is so eloquent my word
Armie is life
Yesss I feel like the actors were a little bit guarded coz of the audience.
Like being really cute wasn’t enough he also has that amazing voice!? So not fair.
This roundtable is so amazing, such awesome actors all around, loved it!
I am so impressed by how eloquent he is! Envy! He's really awesome!
oscar for armie and timoothee !!!!
Hollywood Reporter, why did you guys have to ruin a good thing and include an audience. I loved Call Me By Your Name and Armie was great in it.
armie is literally perfect! can't find one flaw in this man
Even his hands are beautiful.
Lol his flaws are out now
LMAOOO
Well this aged well
That's so cool how all of them are looking at him with such admiration.
Please get rid of the audience 😩
when is the whole thing gonna come out ughhhh I need Margot and more Armie
The way Bryan Cranston's looking at Armie :')
Bryan Cranston looks like he is in love with Armie. XD
AAAAARRRRRMMMMMIIIIIEEEEE, you & Timmie belong together. 👨❤️👨👬🏻
armie is so articulate. i wish he had meatier roles tbh now that i've seen him in cmbyn. he has range and is a fantastic actor. i want to see him and margot robbie in a movie. =)

He is amazing. Oscar 2018!
Armie should always be himself all the fucking time! I’m fuckin’ proud he’s being himself in this interview! 🥺😭💕
LMAOOO THIS DIDNT AGE WELL
Donnie Daus LMAAAAAO 😬
‘ I like the way you say things, dunno why you’re always putting yourself down though’
‘So you won’t, I guess’
Please no audience! Takes away the conversational intimacy (at least physically) that we love about these talks.
This was the first live version of Hollywood Reporter thats why there is an audience. They announced it on their insta page. Dont worry guys its not gonna happen every time! 😊

I think the problem is everyone being super curious about acting in a gay relationship. it's not about how armie & timmy answered, is about ppl asking
戴怡宁 But Armie has a great answer: "Love is love is love." It's something a lot of people still have to learn.
This is a toxic question that is asked to many actors and actresses regardless of the sexual orientation of their characters. It's sucks that this has to be asked but yeah... it's the industry

Armie es super inteligente y muy intelectual además de gran actor al igual que timothe
officially starting my search for the film *Spring Breakdown*.
where is the fullversion ???
okay I don't like the audience format but if I were presented a ticket for this I WOULD JUMP SO HARD MY WIG CAN'T KEEP UP
The REALLY funny part about the yo-yo expert is that Cranston misidentifies the trick-he was miming “rock the cradle “ (or “rock the baby”) claiming it was “walk the dog”, which is “dragging” the yo-yo along the ground.
When will the full version of this wilo be uploaded? Or was it uploaded already?
is there like a full version of this whole roundtable??
Margot and Armie !!
Great Armie!♥️
HELL NO to the audience. Give me back that intimacy!
Where can I watch the complete interview??
IS THERE A FULL VERSION?
Thank you :)
Where can I watch the whole interview?

You can still order those Talking Heads shirts online.
charismatic
I just love Armie Hammer!!
And I don't care about all you silly little cry babies with your canibal comments or your stupid "ew, these comments didn't age well"......blablabla
Armie you are gorgeous and you deserve the world!
Can u please upload the whole thing instead of clips please
I think we all agree that we hate the new live audience aspect of this
I miss Armie
Audience? why?
Also, Armie is so tall...
What’s the monologue Armie is talking about?
Near the end of Call Me By Your Name, Elio [Timothee Chalamet] sits down with his father for a heart-to-heart talk -- but the father does all the talking and imparts much wisdom to his son.
I'm not kidding when I say that I once thought this guy was an heir to a refrigerator deodorant company
It's funny how Armie seems to not be a fan of social media when he was in a movie called The Social Media.
Who asked you guys to add an audience?! You're fixing something that isn't broken
The Batman is more fit to Armie better than Robert with respect. He got this Bruce Wayne persona,i mean the low voice, the looks,i mean the whole of Armie Hammer is a Batman package.Robert should play The Joker instead.just saying
Only if readymade packages appealed enough!
3:11 really?
Where is the full roundtable. Shouldn't they've all come out before the Oscars. I mean it would make sense seeing how the Oscars is that last big awards show of the year.
"Eat my shit" then he looks to Octavia .. he means " the help movie "
armie is so funny
Armie Hammer is damn lucky he wasn't in the same roundtable as Billy Porter. Even though the best actor for each individual part shouldn't be based on the actor's sexuality or of the character's sexuality.
Must find Spring Breakdown scene of armie doing body shots
Traducir en español
Armie is charismatic as shit. Get him in a DC movie.
The two Batman in one table
Hi THR, the audience sucks.
Love, everyone.
Yeah the audience isn't working for me.
Wow, his voice Is so hot!
Es tan brillante y guapo que parece irreal...
I just see Harley Quinn & Hal Jordan.
He is so handsome it's annoying!
"No one goes on the Internet to say anything nice?" That's a bit too extreme isn't it?
No
The audience is unnecessary. The actors will have a harder time at expressing themselves in the most authentic way that they usually can when they're alone.
No good on the crowd. So unnecessary.
don't worry guys the audience were just CG
An audience that can not even breathe? So why the audience?
I despise the audience in the background. Totally ruins the feeling of these roundtables.
wow, all these comments have aged terribly
Hal Jordan
Voyeurism!
please get rid of the audience.
the audience ruins it
this did not age well.
