- How to make a patch with a punch needle:) Huge thanks to today's sponsor 🙌🏻SKILLSHARE 🙌🏻 first 500 get 2 month free: skl.sh/shmoxd2
So I have the fabric, hoop, punch needle and floss. First thing I did, is I drew on the fabric and labeled which color will go where... kinda like the number color things...
With the fabric over the small hoop, you can now get larger hoop, loosen it and then put it on top. Make sure its nice and tight and pull the fabric tight.
Next thing you're going to do is load the Punch needle. You put your threader through the pointy part of the punch needle. Pull your floss through. there is a flat and curved open side. with your floss through the open part, you push your threader though the flat part. thread it. pull it. then you just got to keep the open part in the direction you are going and make sure you keep your needle close to the fabric.
So lets see that in real life..
I have a video where I go through the basic.. errr.. how to punch needle. and I'll put a link to that right here::)
• How To Punch Needle
When using the punch needle.. this. the part you can see would technically be the back. The front side is going to be the opposite side with all the loops.. I forgot this so the o_x is actually going to be backward and say x_o.. whoops.
When ending your last stitch.. just pull it up, cut it, and after you load your next color in the punch needle your good to start again... till youre done.
After cleaning up the front/looped side, there were spots I wanted to be a little thicker. So I went back through with the punch needle.
I kept checking under neath to make sure it was good.. annnnnd it looked good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
next thing you will do. Is you will take some iron on adhesive. there is like a shiny plastic side and mat paper side. Put the plastic side face down on the back of your patch and iron it on. Make sure you get it good on the edges:)
What this does, it it helps keep it from unzipping. Remember when you use a punch need you are just making little loops on the back, so with one little tug it will just come out. This should help keep it from doing that.
After that cut out your patch. Leave about 1/8" of fabric around your patch. This will be your border. Pick your color of your border.. I went with black.. and thread your needle. Make sure you have enough slack and cut it.
Start from the back of your patch as close as you can get to the design and pull it though. Make sure at the end of your floss there is knot so it stops:)
Come again from the back as close as you can get to the last stitch.. and make a lil loop.. and do that again and again and again.. till you have a little border thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Do this till you meet up with your very first stitch. To end.. come through the front this time. And you're going to make a knot in the back.. so you can't see it from the front... nice:) cut it off and you're good to go.
Buuuut... I'm not a huge fan of the iron on stuff so I use this peel and stick thing. It has two protective layers. peel off one and stick your patch face up on there. Cut off all the excess sticky stuff... then you can peel off the other protective layer leaving the sticky stuff on the back of your patch.. you can now stick that where ever you want:)

Ambir91 Yeah, I thought it was such a shame only one of his T-shirt designs from his previous video would be produced. And those badges should be available to more people!…
Oh wait, it's more easy than what I thought, now I really think I can actually do it.
You can do it. I believe in you!
Meeee tooo:)
Same. Today I had the urge iron a patch onto my hat. Now I want to sew designs I think are cool onto my hats hahaha
Tbh I really appreciate the short explanation of the sponsorship, It’s really refreshing
Me too:) long ones don’t feel natural
You’re channel has such quality content, i can see you getting so much bigger on here

It looks like 70’s carpet and I love it! Hahaha
Haha my next project will be making carpet with it;)
A men ahead of his time 😂😂 this turned viral (punch needle stuff) big fan of your way of explain things
I can’t tell if it’s really this easy or if you’re just magical and make everything look this easy haha but now I wanna try!!
Haha you gotta try it out:)
Hi (Excuse my rather lacking vocabulary, English is unfortunately not my primary language.)

The finished look is exactly what I need for a new project that I had no idea how to do. Good timing & great demonstration!
I’m so glad!! Thank you:)
Since your last punch needle video, I can't stop thinking up ideas for it.

Just wanted to say your vibe is so cool and your videos are always the best part of my day! ♡
Thanks so much! I’ll try and get them out more frequently
Ur channel is so aesthetically pleasing, I rewatch all your videos cos it's just so calming and nice.
Can you please do a video on your set up for the clamps holding the hoop? I think this set up would help me be more efficient at embroidering. Thanks!
For sure... I actually have to make a new one cause I moved
I love how u also mention what went wrong and how u fixed it. Love that about ur videos. It’s like a real life teacher teaching.
You’re channel taught me how to do so much and your instructions are so simple. So glad I found you! Keep up the great work!
Thank youuu! And I’ll sure try:)
The animation at the beginning on how to use the punch needle was so helpful! I've watched videos about it but because I can can't see what they see it hadn't helped much.
I’m so glad it helped! As I get better with animating I’ll try to it things like that in more videos:)
That intro never gets old😌💕
🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻
when ur sticker sheet first came out i bought a sheet ,i immediately put this smile sticker on my phone . its still holdin up great
I love that it’s still holding up!!:):)
love how you back up in the intro
You are my savior. I been contemplating buying a punch needle for this exact reason but there are no videos onYT until now!! Tfs 👍🏽👍🏽
🙌🏻 you’ll have to keep me updated on that:)
this is one of the best tutorials on anything I've ever come across... so frickin helpful
0:55 this animation is absurdely good it teaches perfectly how the punch needle works and i love it
Thanks for getting me back into embroidery again. One of your old patch videos inspired me 💕
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
The twerking and your previous hairstyle never get old! ☺️
Hahaha I may have to update it with my new hair. And more twerking ;)
Shmoxd Yay for more twerking!🎉😃 You could probably upload a 10-minute long video in the über cool style of your intro and get a ton of views and engagement! 😄 Will the new version also have a super interesting combination of apparel? Your outfit is great, the hair was amazing, the animation is on point, the music is a relevant part of that iconic whole and the twerking is super fun… Yet if somebody is able to do even better it has to be you so I'd miss the old intro but I'm curious about that new one…🤔☺️
That's a great graphic of how the needle works!
Thanks so much:):)
Please do another collab with Annika. Also, I'd love to see a collab with Sorry Girls or With Wendy.
Ooo I’ll have to reach out to em:)
Colirpa is also a nice channel!
As a Master stitcher and upholsterer. I started crafting bracelets at 12 and selling them, by 15 sculpting dragons with a crystal and all I had to do was put it on my desk. it would be sold by lunch. when you have a skill and trade you can always make money, Barter and make your way as well, you are not a one trick pony. good to see young people still do things with their hands and create. well done.
So glad I stumbled in, :-) I've been wanting to do punch embroidery for awhile yet "traditional embroidery" can be lengthy in time. Yet, I needed a specific angle to follow. Definitely going to utilize your technique. Your teaching method, LOVen it! Thanks for explaining the "skills" platform. Will also check it out. Peace!
I was thinking of starting a t-shirt business and stumbled upon this channel. I’m in love
you look really good in the sunlight~
i bought a bunch of buttons & in going to decorate them today watching your video
Yayyyyy:) have fun
Your videos are so cozy ❤️ thanks for inspiration!
Loopty loop and pull and your patch is lookin' cool
Hahahah yassssss!:)
ur videos are always so visually aesthetic and i love the effort u put in for some quality content
Okay but the camera quality at the end tho😩
It looks sooo good
stylish outdoors summer sun aestheticness
Thanks!!:):)
The fact that you really just made that is amazing
Good to see you're getting comfortable with the punch. Do you think it matters of you get a 'proper' one or a cheap one off Wish or sth?
Nouk'em he clearly is using one of the good ones. The cheap ones will just break and do poorly.
I'd start off with the cheaper ones tbh
I would start with a cheap one
Yah I’ve been really happy with the one I have:) and I don’t think it was too expensive.. $20 I think for the whole kit?
I think annika victoria went over this in her video on punch needle, if ur interested
I really like the texture! Looks soft
Thank you for this video, creators like you that cover so many topics in an easy to understand way are the people we need to follow
His voice is like free therapy 🖤
Yay, I love this intro I’m glad it’s back, even if it’s only for one video
you have so much patience
Your dancing intro always cracks me up
You are SO SO talented! I remember when you only had about a 100 subs and I just knew you were gonna explode and thought to myself how one day I’m gonna say I’ve been a fan long before it was cool ;) keep up the amazing content, you really inspire me to pursuit my art dreams❤️
You’re so awesome! It’s so rad that you’ve been here since 100 subs:):)
Man you are really creative I love watching your videos 👍
All your training paid of
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The diagrams and your explanations are so good I’m so grateful thank you!!!
Dude I finally caved and bought a punch needle after watching your channel for a while, and it came with a little piece of paper with a UA-cam link written on it. I typed the link into the search bar and it brought me straight back here
For your border you should leave it in the ring and do a buttonhole stitch. then do your iron-on adhesive to the back then cut it out in that order. buttonhole stitch lets you make a nice strong border but you don't have to make as many stitches and you can make a more decorative buttonhole stitch if you want. Or you can keep it really tight like a satin stitch or overhand stitch or whatever but it will be stronger and it's easier to do it while it's still in the ring.
Apex legends voice: see you in the ring
You're the best UA-camr that I have ever found on UA-cam, U Da Best! 👍🏼
I love your intro. It kills me every time haha
🕺🏻🕺🏻
It's decided: I gotta try punch needling! (I am on a run with trying new crafts this weekend. I spent six hours woodcarving today so I may as well get into another time consuming thing that will probably hurt my hand
Hahah I feel yah! This one is pretty nice on the hands... I don’t think my hand cramped up at all this time:)
You deserve so many more subscribers! Your editing is so cool and your intro is really detailed 🤗
☺️☺️☺️
Wow I just love your videos, you're so creative!! hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷

I know your videos just since today, and they is so much informative stuff !! Thanks !!
heck yeah, that chenille patch effect!! excellent~👌✨
I think I’m going to do another patch where I mix that effect with the normal embroidery
I've been wanting to try needle punch for a long time. I'll have to go buy one and the stuff the next time I go to joann fabrics, they have everything there. I highly recommend Joann fabrics to anyone don't arts and crafts. The prices are better than craft warehouse and Michaels.
YAY I LOVE THAT OPENING 💖💖💖💖💖💖
This is the first of your videos i've watched and i really like it! The editing is really fun and i love the bg music. Also your aes is So Good.
Lukas Johnston what’s the name of the intro music pls ?

Your skill is .. amazing
Very awesome video! I love how creative you are.
☺️☺️☺️
your editing style is so cool. also i love how you’re a guy but you’re not afraid of doing crafts. toxic masculinity is crazy these days.
i prefer to sew my patches on, ive never had a good experience with peel and stick or iron on. always come off
This sticky stuff had done pretty well... but I haven’t washed my jacket yet though.. I’ll probably see it in like you do before I wash it
The intro song is so dope
Your awesome. Ive been trying to figure out how todo this. Thank you
Have you ever sewn a patch to a baseball cap? I've got a big circular patch that I want to sew on to a cap, but nervous to try it.
Tom Archer he made a video about embroidering hats I think
I have:):) it was pretty tough getting the needle through some of the seems, but it was fun
That intro tho ❤🙌
🕺🏻
You should try tufting, it's like this but massive scale and using a tufting gun feels so sick
Ooooo I’ll look into that
Wow that's cool chenille patch
you are both sooo pretty
boy welcome back 🔥🔥✋
Thanks!!:)
Love your hands man :)
Love the videos man keep up the good work👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻

And in that yellow xo thing..if trim that loop thing it will look like velvet.. I saw someone did a art with it.. it looked like velvet
This looks to easy and it cool tool too. Nice 👍
S’nice!:)
What kind of thread should I use to make it like a chenille patch? I only have normal embroidery floss but I want the patch to feel fuzzier.
Hmmm... when I just used the normal embroidery floss, and it worked out pretty well. Maybe experimente with yarn or something?
Just discovered your channel 😍 I love how artsy you are, I wish we could do crafts together lmao
love your vids!!!!
About how much time do you spend on making your videos? Like not including editing, just the experimenting and making stuff? Love your videos and can't wait for the new shirts!
This intro always please!! #fav
I want to try this I love patches
