If separating embroidery floss is too much for your patience then I hope you never encounter something really difficult.
BTW, never, ever get necklaces with fine golden chains and allow them to be placed on a flat surface and jostled. The resultant knot in that fine chain will make your brain explode.

I come back to this tutorial often for nostalgia. Thank you so much for getting me into art and embroidery in my early teen years. I’m 24 now and am starting an art print and embroidery business, largely in part because of watching the beauty you’ve created and continue to create on your channel. You’ve raised the artist in me ❤

I've probably already watched 30+ videos for learning embroidery and I'm dead serious, your video is my new favorite out of all of them.
I enjoyed your tips and ideas but my favorite part was the fact that you weren't afraid to show your mistakes and be totally authentic about everything. I have dyslexia and I still struggle with things but MOST OF ALL my spelling.
It's probably one of my biggest insecurities about myself to this day. And seeing you misspell something and just casually laugh it off, it made me feel a little better about my spelling struggles lol
Thank you for an awesome diy I'm now subscribed too 🌟✌️💕

I do that too!!!...Misspell the simplest words, when I'm in the creative zone. Oh, cool you're thinking about painting the back of the jacket, like people did in the 80's, I've done one a few years ago, it was of a wolf, very southwestern navajo inspired. Anyways, crossing fingers for that patch. (:

Great job of nailing strictly the relevant parts of process, in particular, the hand-embroidered patches how-to's!
Seriously, I LOVE it, it's so zen, however, much to my chagrin, there is very little in the way of actual HELPFUL videos on the topic!
Most either gloss over it so briefly, with a dismissive "if you want to learn how there's a bunch of videos" YA- that's why I'm there!
The other end of the spectrum is some yawner delving into a thesis on the virtues of the manufacturing process of coated over uncoated blah blah.
With yours, in no time I was (stabbing my fingertips) embroiding the siht out of the danm patches!
    Thanks again.

    Dear Chezlin,
    Instead of ironing the patch on from the front, why not try ironing it from the back due to;
    (1) It has closer contact to the glue.
    (2) It doesn't wreck or burn the beautiful patches you have created.
Thank you chezlin for creating this video, 10/10, I'm giving this a like button plus I will subscribe to you.
    Sincerely,
    - Joshua Pangilinan

Love the tip to stich through the folded over thread to prevent the tail slipping out of the needle - so useful. I have read many sewing books, magazines, tutorials etc and never come across this tip before.
I will definitely be passing this tip on. I'm certain any adult I tell will find it as deliciously simple but ingenious as myself, and children can benefit for their whole lifetimes!

Hey sister, LOVE this vid. Just a quick tip: if you use FRAY CHECK to outline the border of your work before you add that adhesive backing, you can trim right up to the border with no worries. This ensures that even if you accidentally clip a little into the design, your FRAY CHECK keeps it all from unraveling.

This is a great tutorial and I appreciate that it isn't "set up your sewing machine to do it for you!" Because I don't have a sewing machine. But it's gonna take so. Long. To make patches.

thank you for posting this video! I was searching for a good hand embroidery patch tutorial and I found this one. :) edited to add: I got too excited and forgot to tell you that mod podge does make a dishwasher safe formula and also an outdoor formula as well. I think they are light blue and dark green containers.

Beautiful work! Now I want to give hand embroidery a try! By the way, the knot you did on the thread and needle is the same one used when sewing leather by hand.

I like how you showed us how to embroider with the sewing machine. I have an embroidery machine but I'm still learning how to use it and my USB stick isn't working in order for me to do custom work. So this trick with using the sewing stitches will do for now. 😊 thanks

I'm going to give embroidery a try, and use your techniques. I'm really looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you so much!

When you have an iron that doesn't get real hot, and it helps even when you do with a lot of patches, lay a cotton like fabric on the table first, like a hand towel or a washcloth, on the table then your item that is receiving the patch, position the patch in place, and then lay another layer of cotton like fabric, like a washcloth or a hand towel, then iron the patch on, and the patches always stick better, adhere quicker, it's something I learned over the years, and always try to tell anybody ironing on patches about it.

Im a graphic artist and even tho I've never done sewing or embroidery I've always wanted to make myself a custom patch(es) and learn how to sew, and since I don't have enough for a machine I think this is a cool start. I've already looked at some stitching techniques. Thanks for the tutorial!
