very informative I've noticed a buldgeing cap in my power supply funny tho how it still works but I've ordered some more caps to replace it with anyways being a qualified electronic engineer Ive found 99% of the time the reason power supplies fail is due to a bad capacitor and they are relatively cheap to replace Im a big fan of fixing things rather than to throw it away and buy another it saves the planet thank you for the video

Hi! Just subscribed to your channel. I've a question. My power brick shows orange indicator. When I turned on the Xbox 360 E, the power button on the Xbox turns solid red after just 1 second. 🫠Regarding your question, 1st of if you going to replace the varistor i would recommend 1st measure the out put of the wall (home) as depending the city and place the voltage of the homes can be anywhere from 110v- 125v AC, once you know the home voltage then get the correct varistor, because the varistors that they include in the chargers are rated mostly for 140v and that is not good because the charger will burn if a surge happens. so i would recommend to get any varistor from 120-130v . i have opened many power supply and they always use a different model numbers. you can remove the varistor and test your charger and see if it is working. i will open one tomorrow and let you know the model.
Nice video, congrats! But I have another problem. Not a 300uF burnt capacitor. I have a Xbox 360 slim. His power supply is orange. When I press the on button, the red light of the power supply turns on. I have only the +5V at the red wire. When I short the PS ON, I should find +12V at the yellow wire, but not. There is not +12V. I measured and changed the 4 capacitors of 1500 uF near the output side of the board. (they was almost 1350 uF. Apparently, there is no one burnt capacitor. What should I do? What do you recomend? thank you for the feedback and support, and regarding your issue you may have a bad gpu power regulator. the 1st test will be to test with another power supply and then if still same you will need a tech guy to look at the power regulators on the cpu /gpu. they are the most common issues we get in the store.

I broke the lil pillar thing preventing my star bit screwdriver from inserting all the way with a small flat head screwdriver then it fit perfectly. I almost never buy special tools if I can improvise with same or better results. i would highly recommend to repaste or at least clean up the heatsink on the console, if it over heats it will shutdown and a red light on charger will appear, go a head and clean it and test and let me know. i have send you the links to repasting and cleaning.

you talking about your PSU? if so , if your PSU fan turns on but not your light you do have a different situation, i recommend you to take it to a electronic repair shop. if you dont know the components you can get your self zapped :P

Leopoldo Gonzalez if you cant see any blowout components with your eyes, you need to get yourself a voltímetro. And you need to know electronics at the component level to be able to test. it could, there is no harm in opening and checking to make sure no capacitors are inflated and clean the fan that can cause the orange color too.
