Please show if the tp link root ap / parents router recognizes the dlink extender as a Client or not. Show us connected client page in the tp link parent router's gateway. Thank you in advance.

Hi AGTinfo2U, Ive got a D-Link DIR-400. I've been trying to use it as a repeater but with no success. Once i disable the DHCP, the router gets a different autoconfigured IPv4 address and I can no longer access the router with the given address in order to continue with the setup. Please assist
@@ashtamkarj Meaning that it gets masked along with the main IP router and doesn't show up but Is a part of the network now. You can search in your wifi devices and connect to this router and check for the internet working. It surely will.
@@ashtamkarj The exact stage after you apply the settings it takes the input and sets up and reboots but doesn't show up in the IP. That's the only thing. But it works as it is now a part of your local network as a repeater.

I have the same router you have as repeater and I am also going to use the same router as repeater but there's a problem, my AP has ip 192.168.1.1 so I used 192.168.1.2 for the Extender ( D-link ) but after doing exactly what you did I can only access my AP router which is Netis router and has ip 192.168.1.1 but can't access the range extender D-link router . I don't know how it occured , the D-link router now has the ip 192.168.1.1 which is the ip of my AP router , as a result i can only access the AP router , not the D-link extender router . I have done reset three times but got the same result . Please help if anyone can 🙁 .
I changed by D-Links ip to same as yours as my Routers IP also was same as yours. After rebooting... It says "site can't be reached" when I type 192.168.0.2 in the address bar. Please help. I followed each step you showed.

Connect the eithernet cable from the laptop to LAN ports either 1,2,3,4 is must. And disconnect wifi signals in the laptop.

1 year late but if anybody still needs to do it, just hard reset your router using the reset poke-button in it.
