- Upon request here's a simple practical explanation of how to perform a RNAV LPV approach with the 737 NG. This one amends my previous video related to the 737 LPV approaches.
Disclaimer: this tutorial is NOT by the book nor it is intended for real world ops.

Important: since some newer release version on, LPV appears on MMR only upon inserting the relevant WAAS/SBAS code in GLS mode.
Thats correct, however the FMS approach reference page is not showing the 60924 code ir channel i ve just inserted in the MMR (under GLS, wich is the only way to turno to LPV mode) and in the FMS by selecting the 4R Y LPV approach). Instead that approach is showing another number in the FMS.
It's been a long time since I've tried the LPV on the Zibo. I'm going to do it with a newer version and let you know.
@@crisk73thank you, by the way: my VNAV “get lost” and the autopilots shows CWSP. But the main issue is what i have told you: this Newark 4r LPV code (60924) despite it is already iserted in the MMR then is it not shown inside the FMC app ref page (after selecting that approach of course). So i doubt if i am performing or catching that lpv approach or not. 😅
Hi, I've just tried the same app on the latest zibo and I can confirm that no code appears on the App page of the FMC like it used to do in the previous versions. Maybe this is the correct behaviour... anyway you can check you are performing the GLS (LPV) app on the pfd annunciator.

Enjoyed your video. Always wondered about LPV and your explanation helped. But for someone who is new to flight sim I would like to know in what circumstances woud you choose this instead of a srandard ILS approach.
It's simple, ATC gives you the clearance for the approach and runway in use. LPV is getting more popular because it has the same minina of a Cat1 ILS but doesn't require any ground equipment. As you may know ILS is a quite complex ground apparatus to maintain.
