      1. The Ottomans were allied to France for much of 17th and 18th century.
France ofc was one of the most powerful Christian nation during that time. They (the French and the Turks) even launched join invasion against HRE and Venice.
      2. Hungary, Serbia, and Romania often requested aid from the West, during their struggle against the Turks. Yet they seldom receive any meaningful aid from the West.
      3. Even during the time when the West was on the rise while Ottomans were on the decline (~1750 onward), the West continue to prop the Ottomans up, because they fear Russia, a fellow Christian state, even more than the Turks.
      ---
Suleiman's (or Selim's) vizier/minister once said to his master: "The Christians (referring to Holy Roman Empire, but also Christendom in general) are weak because their princes constantly quarrelling over trivial matters. But we are strong because we are united."

The French did this to HRE/Venice (join the war on the side of the Ottomans against HRE/Venice), then the British did this to Spain and France (paying Barbary states to target Spanish shipping, and sending aid to the Turks against Napoleon's invasion of Egypt), and later Britain & France did it to Russia (Crimean War).
And not just in the Balkans and Middle East either. The Europeans backstabbed each other in India, China, and Japan too.

We were able to conquer Eastern Rome and other Balkan states because every castle, town or village lord behaves like an independent state and they don't care about their king, so it was easy for us.
We were able to conquer Anotolia because our army had more troops, was better organised and more modern.
We were able to conquer Crimea and Hungary because our technology and army system was beyond their armies.

Byzantines doctrine was more about deep and strong defense, with maybe small but certain territorial gain. They needed time to build actual administration and make bonds with new province , not just make vassals and hope they don't rebel like Ottomans. This is why Byzantine Empire survived so long , and only finally fell when whole "empire" consisted of one ruined, depopulated city under direct control of the emperor

@@fatihersayn7877 Most of the inhabitants of the Ottoman empire were arabs. I didn't say you are arabs. Your ancestors were literally owned by our stakes for almost half a millenium and? Still the Ottomans never conquered Hungary. The difference between you and us is that you unalived many defenseless ppl and you take pride in it because you couldn't take on on our warriors because you are weak inside. While we take pride in unaliving of your fighters because we are the real warrior nation we know honor. That’s why no one proud of the parasitic kebab empire. Unhamane behavior. We butchered kebab far more that’s why Turko-Arabs were ultimately removed from Hungary and Europe eventually.

😮they used brute force and earned money by selling ancient artifacts in Greece, Middle East to Western museum- they displaced etnic groups murdering millions (Kurdish & Armenians just to name a few) then took the side of the German Kaiser and for this stood on the wrong side when the Kaiser lost the war in 1918...

Sad that they grew that much. They didn't know how to keep the agriculture alive in Anatolia and devastated the area. It once was a fertile rich land and it became a semi arid desert after that. Sad that the Romans got defeated in 1071 due to internal corruption.

Romans got defeated by Turkish military prowess. There is no proof agriculture in Anatolia declined during Turkish rule.

@@muptanyesiloglu8700 The Romans were on their way out anyway, and also contributing to the failure at the battle of Manzikurt was the betrayal of Andronikos Doukas, which severely weakened the Roman lines. The Turks were just filling the vacuum of a weakening empire.
Regarding the agricultural decline, that was outlined pretty well in a paper called "The Turkish Colonization of Anatolia" by W.C. Brice. I don't know how to share it here because I only have the PDF. Generally, it was because the Turks generally raised cattle more than farmed and cut down forests to provide more grazing land which also led to desertification. But it is of course not that simple.
