Roman empire fell due to wrong economic policy, corruption and greedy struggle for power among the wealthy caste. In it´s final few years, it was much too late to rescue the empire by some simple advises which could be easily fulfilled in short time. So my advise would have been: Run!

Historians usually agree that the massive immigration of barbarians to Roman territory was caused by an enormous drop in temperatures and Hunnic attacks. Therefore, it is safe to say that stirrups and lack of coats caused the fall of Rome.
How much of a temperature drop?
The Huns did not use the stirrup - neither grave finds nor Roman writings show any. It's not until the Avars came in the late 500's that the stirrup arrived in Europe, after the Western half of the Roman Empire fell.

So if Rome had 120 million then there would have to be almost nobody outside of Rome and China, which we know can't be true, seeing as India alone also had a very large population. Thus Rome couldn't have 120 million. Most academics say 75 million max.

Your numbers here feel well off. Most Censuses I’ve seen to the Roman Empire’s around 60 million. Not 120 million. It’s very difficult to gain a reliable estimate of Germania’s population at the same time, but 3 million sounds ridiculously low. Like an ancient historian has just counted warriors and their familles, and not the vast network of tenant farmers, slaves and their families beneath them.
Germany even being a barbarian, is still efficient and competent.
Germany today is like Rome short before it´s fall.

120 million is way too much for the population of the Western Empire. Scholars generally think the entire empire never exceeded 75 million. So the Western half probably had around half of that. The first empire to reach 100 million in population was Tang China.

You're right. The roman empire at its peak is estimated to have reached between 60 and 100 million people. That's the entirety of the empire. And some of the most populated regions were in the east (Egypt, Greece)

"German settlements" - there was no Germany back then! I think you mean Germanic settlements - two entirely different things. There are countries with a Germanic heritage that are way older than Germany.
It depends on how you define Germany. Some define it as a nation state, others as a cultural region or as a historical one. And even that differs among countries.
The Germans themselves think of it differently than some others. They identify with the land far more than with the state, unlike the French for example. It is complex

In the end Germany is a nation of nations and each component, each nation so to speak, such as Friesland, Bavaria, etc. is a solid amount older than Germany itself. But Germany is quite old as well.
Thus, I do believe that Germany is the oldest or one of the country of Germanic heritage. Compared to the Scandinavian nations and the low countries as well as England, Germany did exist in a more modern way before the others did, which is why that assessment in his comment is a bit wrong. There was no unified nation state, but there was a Kaiser, there was a common Religion, as well as common laws and language, albeit with many regional differences.
In 955 at the latest, the Germans also had a common identity against the East, namely the Magyars and the Slavs, who had been invading in the centuries prior.
To me that seems earlier than what Scandinavia or the British Isles had. One should not underestimate the age of Germany. The history of Germany is simply quite different compared to other European nations.
There is a problem in the English language at this point: It uses the same name for the ancient peoples called germani by the Romans and the modern day peoples living in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Other European languages don't have this problem, using different names for the current Germans (allemands, tedescos, etc) while they use the Roman name just for the old peoples (germain, germano, etc).

It's interesting to think how the Romans Latinized half of Europe, but when the Germans conquered the Roman Empire they simply melded into the Latinized lands (aside from Britain). On the other hand, when the Slavs conquered the other half of Europe nearly every area they took became Slavicized. The Slavs were never known as a powerful people, yet they still became more dominant.
It is funny how the slavs that took over ended up being orthodox just like the Eastern Romans. What a coincidence.....

The biggest mistake Rome made was hiring Germanic mercenaries... These mercenaries made the backbone of the Germanic armies that invaded Rome... They also knew everything about Rome and its military. The same mistake was made centuries later by the Persians, who had continuously hired Arab mercenaries. For those who don't know, the Arabs took-over Persia and Islamised them.

They are mentioned in the maps illustrating the narrative, but not a word about them is ever uttered here. The Suebi founded the first Christian kingdom in the Iberian Peninsula, the Kingdom of Galicia, with its capital in Bracara (today Braga, in the north of Portugal) which was already at the time one of the most important ecclesiastic centres in Iberia, with bishoprics dating back to the first century AD.
Despite that, this is a truly excellent if brief video about the movement of some of the peoples who helped define to a great degree what we are, as Europeans.

The lines on the map in the thumbnail are completely wrong. The Goths came from Ukraine, through Bulgaria all the way to Spain - NOT from the Netherlands. The Longobards came from Bohemia to Hungary through Slovenia into Italy - NOT from Switzerland or Southern Germany, etc ...

Very important question. The forge of Europe in the Middle Ages owes a lot to the ideals and culture of the Germans.
Probably similar by that time most romans were non Italians anyway. When the Germanic tribes took over they sometimes did not change how things were run that much. Same language, religion and the roman aristocracy was mostly kept intact.

Gaul had a maximum of 12 million, Iberia some 8 million, Italy 10 million and the Maghreb some 8 million. Britain no more than 2 million.
Which makes a maximum of 40 million in the Western Empire.
Germany was as big as Gaul, but probably less cultivated, so maybe 5 or 6 million, unlike the 12 million of Gaul.
Out of the 6 million Germans, maybe a maximum of a half migrated, which makes 3 millions. With some good military organization it's possible to seize power even by being less than 10% of the population.
In Gaul probably at least 1 million Germans migrated, and in Northern Gaul, maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the population was from the newcomers.
In Britain, with a small population like 2 million, if 1 million Germans migrated, it's half the population in the Western part of the British isles. Largely enough to change the language and the culture of those areas, and assimilate the conquered Britons.

Nonsense, there was never a point when the Germanic tribes started migrating, but they were constantly pushed to the West, and later into the Roman territories, from Eastern-Europe by the Slavic tribes, who were pushed into Europe by the Uralic and Turkic tribes.
I have never heard before that the Slavs pushed anyone. It was always my understanding that it was the Huns who pushed the Germanic tribes, and when those tribes began moving west during the chaos of the Huns and the Roman Empire crumbling the Slavs filled the vacuum and settled the emptied lands. But that doesn't explain everything, because the Slavs also conquered some lands in the Balkans and further east. And I also don't know why we never heard about the Slavs during the time of the Huns. Many questions.

Correction: The Roman Empire did not end with the Sack of Rome. It continued on with Constantinople as its capital for centuries to come.
Also, why didn't the Roman government at the time just directed all of the Germanic tribes to Britain after they left the island? By doing so, they will be preoccupeid with fighting against each other for finding lands to settle rather than bothering with the Roman Empire as a whole.

2. Almost at the same time, the Chinese empire in the east also suffered the same situation, including the Huns.
3. The Huns was also forced to move to the south, when they encountered Chinese, some started to move west. It was not because the Huns was stronger to beat the German, it was simply because they had large amount of cavalry, and the German were almost infantry.

The ancient Romans called them those and said it deprives from their native names which in the Gothic Language apparently meant “Western Goth” and “Eastern Goth” respectively.

Potentially, we don't know. The Romans called most of Netherlands above the Rhine Frisii, then there is a gap in the historical record and in 600 we speak of the Frisians. They are likely connected but nobody knows how. Frisians may have assimilated with the Anglo-Saxon migrants. One key element here is the lack of a Frisian kingdom in Britain.

:50 I don't understand this map. Rome didn't conquer Germany (they got their butts kicked at the Teutoberg Forest) as stated, and the map is unclear. I don't think you can really say they even "settled" Germania. I'm not sure why Poland is there. The Empire also included a lot of land in the Balkans, even excluding the Eastern Empire. I guess this is a rough modern map for comparison, or just the only map available? I think I'll skip the rest of this.

It wouldn't have been sustainable, the roman empire had gotten too big for its own boots, especially with the inner turmoil that the christians caused in the later years of the empire
