  • SAMSUNG WASHER WILL NOT SPIN, OUT OF BALANCE FIX. HOW TO REPLACE SHOCKS ON SAMSUNG WASHER
    If you have Samsung washer that starts shaking during spin cycle and gets stuck during spic cycle it could be very possible that you have bad shocks that support the drum of your washer. Of course, there could be multiple factors that can cause your wash to shake out of balance and not finish the spin cycle such as: corroded spider arm, worn bearing, stretched springs and more but we were able to fix our just by simply rpelacing the shocks. We demonstrated how easy we were able to replace the shocks that support the drum and in less than 20 minutes our washer was running like brand new again. We will have a video on a different washer coming soon to show you how to replace spider arm and bearing if this is the cause for your washer not to finish the spin cycle.

    So i had this issue and saw this video and got to work. After taking the first one off, i checked it and it seemed to be working fine. So instead of taking the other 3 off, i just undid one bolt and moved the arm in and out. Turns out they were all ok. So now the issue is likely to be the spider arm. Thats going to literally involve taking the machine apart, although i'd rather do that than buy a new machine.
    A few tips if you plan on changing the shocks.
    - Wear a long sleeved t-shirt/shirt. You're arm will get butchered reaching in the hole in the bottom is its not big.
    - You can easily access the rear shocks from the rear panel.
    - Front and rear shocks may be different. Look for ALL the numbers on the part. Mine had big numbers, and then smaller etched numbers. The smaller numbers were the part numbers.

    Mostly it's not the shocks, it's the spider arm that is corroded or cracked. If the vibration has been going on for a year, your front tub assembly will get worned out as the tub is rubbing around it and could soon crack and leak. If you manually spin your tub and it's wobbling as it spins, your spider arm is broken therefore your tub of off-centered. An off-centered tub will create imbalance as it spin and centrifugal force will cause it to vibrated.
    I replaced the spider arm, bushing and bearings, front tub assembly, and balancer. I already took it all apart might as well replace them. This way the washer will last another 12 years or so.

      @@gnhun101 No unfortunately. I replaced the shocks, and the front balance ring, and it still does it, just less. I made sure the machine was level, and I never overfill it with clothes.
      I think it’s just a design flaw because the older Samsung washers did not have that problem. I noticed the tub on the older models had a front, and rear balance ring in the tub design. These newer models do not have the balance ring in the rear of the tub, only the front.
      What I did to remedy the problem some was I placed a pillow on each side of the rear of the tub so it won’t hit the sides of washer so much when in use. This is helping a little bit. I got that idea off of a forum from someone else who did the same thing. I’ll probably get rid of it next year.

    My Samsung is slightly different but it looks similar. Mine is WF350ANP/XAA. There is a parts diagram I found on line and found that front and rear shocks are different part numbers. My washer is shaking like crazy on the spin cycle, so i'm going o try replacing the 4 shocks to see if that fixes it. I will update after the parts are installed. Good video, thanks!

    • @martynh5410
      @martynh5410 4 роки тому +1

      SAUWALEE MALIWAN I did replace all four shock absorbers but the shaking during spin cycle did not improve.
      After more research, I found that the most likely cause of the issue is the “Spider Arm Assembly”. This is a 3 pronged aluminum casting that is at the rear of the basket and is attached to a shaft that is connected to the motor. I ordered the spider arm, 6 new mounting bolts and a new tub gasket online from appliancepartspros.com.
      The repair is quite time consuming and requires taking the tub assembly out of the machine. The 6 bolts that hold the spider arm to the basket will be corroded and won’t come out easily and will break, so plan on replacing them. The job takes all day (for me anyway). The good news is that now the machine spins like new and no more shaking!
      Parts: www.appliancepartspros.com/samsung-assy-flange-shaft-dc97-15491a-ap4458785.html
      Check this against your model number and good luck! ( that web site also has repair videos)

    • @martynh5410
      @martynh5410 4 роки тому +1

      SAUWALEE MALIWAN Apparently it’s almost always the spider arm. Apparently the shock absorbers are pretty reliable but the aluminum spider arm is a known problem area because it corroded due to “galvanic reaction” between the aluminum and the stainless steel parts combined with the chemicals and heat plus water in the machine. My machine is barely 6 years old and the spider arm was totally trashed and crumbing into pieces. The other items that it could be are the bearings or the balance ring. If you take out the shock absorbers you will be able to tell if they are bad by pulling and pushing on them. There should be about 1” of slack then some good resistance in each direction. Getting these out takes less than 30 minutes and is quite easy. There are UA-cam videos that show the process.

    • @martynh5410
      @martynh5410 4 роки тому +1

      SAUWALEE MALIWAN Well good luck! It’s not too tricky to get the spider arm replaced but it is time consuming and there are a lot of steps and parts to remove. If you carefully label every screw and take a few photos I’m sure you can do it and save buying a new washing machine. But yes check the shock absorbers first. The back ones are easiest to remove. Just take off the small back panel (2 Phillips screws) and you will see them. You will need a 13mm socket, extension and ratchet to remove. Sharp metal edges everywhere so gloves are a good idea!

      @emmacurran7717 3 роки тому +1

      @@martynh5410 I’m going to replace my spider arm this weekend. I’m pretty sure that’s my issue as I found “rocks” in my filter and fussed at my family for washing clothes with rocks. lol Wish we luck!

    • @martynh5410
      @martynh5410 3 роки тому

      @@emmacurran7717 Almost definitely it’s the spider arm Assy. Make sure to get new bolts (6) to replace the ones that attach the spider to the drum. None of mine would unscrew without breaking them off and it too me a while to remove them!!

    I have a samsung vrt. Some times the water works then it stops and the machine just makes a weird groaning noise like it's trying. Yeah. If I shut it off and start the clean cycle the water pours fine until it gets to a certain point and it just starts making noise again with no water. It can do that 4 hours without any error codes. Do you have any advice please.

    According to diagnostics mode instructions you do not run spin with the clothes inside you have to empty the drum because it does not readjust or tumble your clothes during the test mode that's why it's going off balance during your diagnostics
