I only do this in pvp. In pve and single player, I like to slowly progress.
Yeah same when you level up too fast it becomes boring but we want some thrill in our lives don't we?
The weird thing for me (I don’t know why I think like this) is that in servers, I don’t mind cheesing methods like using traps and what not.. I just wanna get everything quickly, but strangely, in single player, even though i don’t have any help, it just feels wrong when I cheese something.
i have been playing with my friend who played like 4k hours pvp and we doing pve and he rushed to max lvl in like an hour or two when he said he was gonna take it slow so its fun
I play singleplayer on maps without notes like Lost Island and changed the XP multiplier setting to like 0.0015
i dont like pvp
The early/mid game is my favorite part of the game. Late game everything just becomes so easy I start to lose interest.
Same
Totally. I like to struggle. And since I don't do bossfights, my endgame tends to be harder than most people's, and I like that !
Ya thats why i fux with official begginers servers. Prim pvp with lvl cap at 44 and dinos at 30
Exactly, I hate the grindiness of the late game, it's just the same thing
@ladyteruki how would not doing boss fights make your endgame harder. Wouldn't it be easier since you aren't breeding dinos to fight bosses and then grinding tek.
Your end game is pretty much the same as your mid game. Just with metal instead of stone.
On the community server I play on, I didn't go for the notes because I like the old fashioned progression from building stuff and doing crackhead activities
I quite enjoy the crackhead activity portion of the game
A tame example would be killing alphas on rafts to level up
@@FearlessCloth84meow
I miss the grindier days back then having something means you work for it or you have a big tribe that grinded that.
Trust me the game (at least in pvp) is still super grindy except you spend your time grinding in the late game rather than early game and try not to get wiped by hackers
Like spending 18 hrs taming a rock ele before kibble was easy to get
You clearly have alot more time on your hands to watch paint dry if you enjoyed that slog of a gamestate
I remember struggling getting to lvl 40 and now i subconciously remember note spot when im near them
Ngl, it has been years since I last played ark without relying on explorer notes for xp (or other settings in other maps). Recently started playing on Notecore and it’s been surprisingly enjoyable to grind and progress more gradually than to have the jumpstart from a note run. I found myself using beezlebufos and even pulmos for the first time since I started playing the game. Man, I missed the silly moments lol
I feel you. Ive got atleast 3k hours on Ark, and I just tamed my first ever dire bear. Once you have Rexes, Gigas, Rock Drakes, Wyverns, etc. Nothing else is really worth riding.
Ever since Lost Islands came out I had to tell myself to stop rushing to get sinos. With a Sino taming is waaaay to easy. Then Fjordur added Fjordhawks, which made it possible to get a wyvern literally as soon as you start playing.
Even Gen 2 with the Maewings. Why on earth would I use a Galli for long distance travel if I can tame a Maewing? Maewings are so broken. Its just too easy to outrun rock drakes and wyverns with them.
Hell, even the Desmodus changed the game. I never log on and wake up inside a trap with nothing but a bedroll and my Tribe all above me pointing shotguns at my tames anymore.
"I want a bloodstalker. Fill the blood bags or your favorite Ferox is getting the axe."
I love Ark for how customizable its settings are. Its practically a hundred games in one just in how many ways you can crank the sliders.
I haven't seen any sliders that change the game on mobile, is it just something that pc players have?
@@mineblastersfiebig853 PC and console. You can change xp rates, taming rates, breeding rates, harvest amount, stats per level, loot quality, open creative menu and admin logging, like two full pages of sliders and options.
The best options it gives you are disabling structure collision and increasing the platform structure limit, so you can build full on mega bases on rafts and platform saddles.
@@mineblastersfiebig853you can change the rates for xp, taming etc when setting up a world (I'm on xbox). Idk if it's not on mobile
@mineblastersfiebig853 never played mobile. I've seen it, and it looks very, very simple compared or at least did.
But I know for a fact on pc and console can and I think switch you can also
With ark in its current state it’s pretty crazy. You can spawn, and within 3 hours have endgame kits and Dino’s through PvP, you don’t even have to make a base
When official first came out, it took our crafter about a week to hit level 100. And it was a tribe wide effort to level him to unlock levels. 1 year later, we could level someone to 100 in 10 minutes. Players get smart and better prepared every year.
I like the notes because servers tend to wipe alot. If I had to grind back up every few weeks, I'd go insane.
exactly, it doesnt hurt anything and if it did it still does more good than bad.
You do realize servers wipe so often because people use explorer notes to reach the end game so quick, right?
@@kaleopsis6632 server wipes have nothing to do with XP. If you only have 100 hrs in the game, then sure xp will impact your game but for the test of us with thousands of hours, I don't want to wait a month to build out of stone.
@@kaleopsis6632 servers wipe to maintain performance and sometimes to level the playing field so that an alpha tribe cant run a monopoly forever. has nothing to do with explorer notes.
@@godw1ll99which is perfectly because it aligns with the lore god damn this game is so good (although I don’t have it lol)
swamp cave + frog = thousands of cementing paste in a single trip.
The frog is very useful actually but people forgot since beaver nest were added😢
@@clicktockclock i agree, the frog is so underrated, even on the island when he is the best on. Even the procoptodon with it's useful imprint boost (only works with females and if they are mate boosted) and they have to be in the little pouch. Such a underrated creature and good travel.
No bro. You’re supposed to get all you XP from collecting stone on the beach by hand 🤷🏾♂️😂. Stop cheating
They are handy for veterans, but I didn't know about them at first, not for leveling. Most noobies won't, so the first time they'll experience the game. I was level 105, maxxed at the time, when I started running around to find them all for the achievment. Now I'm at...170 something, finishing up Lost Island, already did Fjordur, and only Genesis 2 to beat, and leveling is SLOW! (and I'm procrastinating...)
That's only a PvP requirement, though. In PvE you can absolutely have a normal progression if you choose to.
Just because the notes are there doesn't mean their use is mandatory. As with pretty much anything in Ark PvE.
Fr bro
Honestly, the only thing I use them for on my single-player games is levelling up my PTs so I can dump some stamina into them and get around a little better early on.
Leveled to 70 on a restart in a day on crystal isles. Dinos max was set to 300. That was fun and challenging.
I remember the industrial forge and cooker service people offer back in 2015-16 because most players didnt make it past level 60.
The most popular PVE official servers are the beginner ones where the level is capped at 44, and you have to chibi up to 49 and find creative ways to progress. Suddenly sarcos and chalicotheriums become valuable again
This is the reason I play lvl 100 unofficial servers because on official everyone knows we here these are except me so I’m still in a thatch hut while people already got rocket launchers 😢
Tbf notes came along not even a year and half after the game launched into early access. We've had notes longer than we've had argies that close their wings when they land (most of the time).
You cannot blame the game if you choose to break it.
Glad they added them though. If you lost a character on official it was painful as fuck but now you just get a bunch of notes, die, get more, die and then youre back at a reasonable spot to have a fighting chance.
I hope theyre still in the same spots in survival ascended.
Getting to 190 on official is fun u have to get a broth of enlightenment a 2 x and a 4 x note and a toilet and a golden egg then u have to kill 200 carcharodontosaurus with shared xp from ur tribe doing the same thing and it helps if an event is on
How much xp you per carcha kill?
@@agoogleuser1570 190800 per lvl 150 it’s the same as the manticore according to google and a gig is 12720
I tamed a argentavis and went to collect as many if them as I could find
Man I remember in legacy ark level 100 was such a grind
Just started playing for the first time and it took me about 3-4 days (2-3 hours each day) to make it to level 80 ish. Didn’t really know what I was doing but felt like I progressed at a good pace. I think it’s in a good spot!
Not too awful when you realize the highest level is basically unreachable. I'll never forget being the first person to get the thor hammer skin on a fjordur server, and then NOBODY on the server was even close to the level required to use it 😂
"Ah these notes tell you how to level up faster. Unfortunately tho, i cannot read"
In my opinion I still enjoy using the notes but like you said I also enjoy each stage of playing the game so what I do is I just get maybe one or two notes throughout my play through. Don’t get me wrong I do sometimes go on explorer note runs but only when I am on an extremely difficult setting or map, or if I’m just trying to see all of the survival mechanics that ark has to offer.
I play pve official and even though i've known about these 'glitches' for years now I still choose to level up the normal way through crafting, killing dinos and one of my personal favourites: Extinction OSD's
I love early/mid game, that’s truly the best part of the game. I’ve been with plenty of alpha tribes and it was always boring, lots of chores, babysitting hatching , I wish there was a way to make PVE a truly extreme experience past mid game as a solo player
I think extinction has the best note run because of how many 4xs there are
Im playing gen 1 solo rn after puckinf the game up again after seeing your shorts and i only pick up the glitches i come by randomly while exploring the arctic instead of activly hunting for them.
Side note, i tamed two otters(female and male) two penguing(male and female) qnd one beaver while going to the arctic fishing lake for the first time😊
I miss the days when I could barely level up and getting engrams was exciting and running around on dinosaurs by foot was the way to go
Those days never existed. You’re just bad at the game.
@@SuperSlash86 You come off as the type to beat your girlfriend for buying the wrong flavor of Prime
First thing I always do, tame a pt (map doesn’t matter as long as you can get the saddle for it) then go to ext, as many notes note as possible, then find a nice ledge to get on and rain havoc with a bow on some corrupt spinos
I did use the note runs. What i really miss (2015ark server still has it) are the absolutely brutal wars for element in element veins and boss counters. Especially the boss counters. You re just done with whatever alpha boss: "Alright boys, head in the game. Now comes the hard part"
Honestly for pvp this being added was nice seeming that if you just started the game you can quickly get up in level and have a chance in completing like yeah you aint gonna kill a mega tribe but now u can tame creatures and help u get up there quicker
In most servers you max to lvl 120 within the hour without notes, ascended, find the notes to add more levels to the cap
Back when servers had a good amount of players there was no running around getting 30 notes. You were lucky to find one or two notes that were accessible on foot.
Assassins creed black flag music on an ark vid goes hard
Just be patient, let the mutant recover 🗿
so basically, if you didn't get into arc a while ago, don't start now. noted
No, not true. Ark can still be very enjoyable to new people, just start on your own map until youre comfortable with the game enough to explore further outside of that
Why not start now. The new game was just released for PC and is coming to Xbox on the 14th. Might as well get in now before it gets crazy again.
I love this game. Even if Ark2/ASA sucks or never comes out, my friends and I will be playing the OG together for ages.
Im playing ragnarok currently tho, nice map tho the only bad thing i could think of it is the lack of notes.
This is something I really hope they fix with ascended, there really needs to be some way to slow down the mid game. My vote is that if the devs find a good way to encourage cave exploration, have your level be tied to the amount of artifacts you collect. Maybe as a form of balance notes could also unlock levels at a slower rate, like one per note. Dunno! I just hope we see the system overhauled.
Just dont have notes give xp at all, only an xp boost so you can grab one before a big craft session but just grabbing them alone does nothing for you.
I do like caves and artifacts being tied to your level though. I do think caving is one of the best parts of the game, currently i am having a hard time finding caves that are even remotely challenging (first game on fjordur)
Issue with that is the community. If your progression is tied to explorere notes, i personally know 100 people who'd block off every explorer note and ruin other peoples games, just for the fun of it. People are toxic and i could see this being a game breaking exploit
it doesnt need to be fixed. it is something that is accessible to everyone and no one has an advantage over anyone else because of it and if you dont want to grind those levels a dozen times over then you can choose to go on a note run.
Yep always start on the island to farm levels then transfer over to Ragnarok, definitely saved my ass when I lost my character...
Although I would say that arks progression for a single or double player game isn't capped by the levels. Sure im level 100+, but I still have to make the long trips for metal, resource gather, tame, etc
There's a mid game in ARK? I bought ASA, played a few hours, tamed a pair of trikes, rode them to a river to find an Otter. Now I'm nearly (pre-ascension) level capped - without touching any notes - and the closest I've come to building a base is 1 stone foundation, a furnace, and a smithy I placed down once to do a quick craft and repair
are you playing on 1000x? because what you described wouldnt get you to level 105 in a million years.
no one gunna talk bout that baby voidwyrm becoming one with the incubator? no? no one? aight
My ex tribe took this to the extreme, on extinction we had all of the notes marked, and everyone always carried cryopoded Lystros. We managed to on semiboosted pvp as a 4 person tribe gain alpha on every server in less than 2 weeks. One time we where even mass producing advanced bullets on day 3, and rasing max level boss gigas tec rexes yutis and carnos. Then we wpuld transfer them to other clusters and repeat. It was... actually super toxic
Back in legacy some guys were lvl 80 for months 😂
I honestly never thought about it. I haven't played mid game ark in years!
What a crime. He did not stop at level 69.
When i was new to ark i thought it was some super big map with all the maps combined and i chose the center and got max without explorer notes
I grab the purple xp boost and the yellow xp boost and then craft a literal ton of parachutes and that gets you to 80 pretty quickly (like 5 mins) then just craft the medium planter plots until you can make the large then keep crafting the large until 100 then just do center boss a couple times you'll be 105. I Do this every wipe and have 105 either day of wipe or that night. Makes swapping official servers after being caged by some loser easier to get over lol
On maps without explorer notes like Ragnarok, The Center, Lost Isle, Valguero, Crystal Isles, and Fjordur, there is a good sized mid-game. Something I rather enjoy with Ragnarok especially.
Ark custom mod maps need to go back to making MASSIVE maps like The Center and Ragnarok, or go BIGGER so that travel is longer, and we get a true sense of exploration! A genuine feel of knowing that you won't just be able to march an army of gigas and rexes from your base in the desert to that arctic river basin base without casualties because you gotta go by land!
I like the mid game, but endgame feels like I've been rewarded the most. Though I guess most of my time in Ark has been in the "mid game" tier now since I seldom went for the boss fights. I try to form armies for the strategies to be of any use.
On my official server we take our new members to one 4x note then we run easy brood mother and keep it alive while the new member kills the bugs that spawn. Max lvl in 15 mins
This is hands down the #1 thing that broke Ark for PVP. Its even worse too because all the OG's can run these notes in their sleep leaving newer players coming to Ark in their dust!
i dont see it as breaking pvp but instead the opposite. it makes it so that everyone can be on a somewhat level playing field right away. this is opposed to getting trashed on constantly by high level players for a week or more while you slowly progress.
For me it's hard because tho the explorer note is close by its surrounded by carnos, spinos, raptors and other dangers I don't know yet so I'm waiting till I get a pteradon saddle then I'll get my explorer note
All you have to do is block the notes with turrets and boom mid game is back baby 😂
Ark only has begining and end game when notes are included. Mid game phase is non existant without extreme xp nerfs in the settings. Like 0.01, 0.5, 0.02 type settings. Even then leveling can be fast if you know what to do.
and here’s me who only ever collects one Note which is on extinction because i can’t be assed to bother with speed running a game i actually enjoy playing.
Cool video thanks for the info
I honestly hope ascended takes out explorer note buffs. Or reworks them.
i just started Genesis 1, and I was at level 80 before i finished my wood shack
Soooo THATS why it felt like Mid Game went bye bye. I do be noting up and taking a kit, a frog, and a bary into the swamp cave.
Your point exactly
Never been note hunting. Just did my basic grinding. Eventually foumd them
Progression is still there if you're playing on maps that don't have notes
i stopped playing ark a while ago but kept semi up to date with videos and such. i remember a big reason i stopped playing is because id be grinding for metal for my smithy on day one of a wipe while others were max level taming gigas and starting breeding. Whats the point in the level system if you just blow through it in an hour? those early levels where you're taming raptors and trikes for defense are so fun.
I wish the creatures that already exist and have existed in the game for years now got even half of the love and creativity that these submissions are getting. Instead, they are ignored, giving us new and shiny creatures with tons of cool abilities and taming methods and models meanwhile 90% of the base creatures walk around with their boring models, boring taming methods, and next to no abilities save for a bite, meaning no one ever uses them in favor of the cool, new creatures that get all the attention which really makes for stagnant, one sided gameplay
This is why i progress without notes and take them after i have leveled up
I remember first time I played and explorer notes werent there.
I remember it because it took me a month to do 71-73. Lol
i mean early game is kindof stone base and auto turrets imo, midgame metal & heavies and end game metal tek mix, heavy tek turret mix
That's point though. On your 50th playthrough you don't want to take 3 weeks to get to end game
You only need to grab 1 4x and 2 2x and craft cooking pots and kill spinos
Me and my tribe never look for notes for that reason
I love how some people complain that these exist
They are optional you don‘t need them you don‘t need to stack and don‘t need to find them
Its just an easy way to get fast high level for people who want it
And on pvp its a slight catch up mechanic so you won‘t build wood buildings while a tek guy raids you in oblivion now you can technically skip some parts and get faster to serious progression in the game
While you can DECIDE how you want it to play
A fantastic mechanic and no reason to complain
Bro is literally crafting flint
Mighty Alphas make it a little easier
Well at least the locations aren't easily accessible online with just a simple search
I have xp multiplier turned down to 0.42 and I still went from level 96 to level 97 within an hour of building and building xp is set to 0.5.
This is so true. I remember ark when it was in its prime one of my all time favorite games. Sad wildcard is giving it a slow painful death.
doing this in SP is a killer... but online shit man im doing everything to gain that upperhand lol
See here's my issue
Your level doesn't dictate if you're in early, late or mid game, having a high level simply helps the progression along because you can now outrun more dinos, carry more stuff but you still have to grind out the materials and tames. So to be honest maybe it could be called a broken exploit for xp but i wouldn't call it gamebreaking by amy stretch
. . .Baby what?
anny one els remember when it was early early acces and we all did masive narco partys for xp?
Me who just cranks all of the xp and harvest values
Even if you dont try and break it, you progress through the mid game super fast, and then slow right up to a snails pace around level 75... Wish the mid game was slower and the end game was slightly faster
Ark has had and still has its fsir share of all kinds of bugs ... but we keep coming back for more
Meanwhile there’s people like me that are never quite happy with their base design so they keep destroying and rebuilding it till they eventually get it right and then try to rebuild it out of stone
I leave the notes for my tame dinosaurs i don't even know where most of them are
To be fair, a lot of these things are just up to the players own will. I like experiencing early and mid game so I just… don’t intentionally seek out notes.
Or if you feel like it just put the command, “giveallnotes” in the command bar, CRASH warning though.
I just skip the notes and boosted exp rates to get to the actual survival part rather than waiting for new saddles lol
The other night i started on a mates tribe on official i did a small note run just to hit lvl 30 then i went straight into a gamma brood mother and very quickly hit lvl 105 all within about 30 mins of starting 😂😂😂
Bro back in 2016 ark was so fun for me I personally was a single player bob and loved to play wit lvl 1000 Dino’s and have commands but my brother was the PvP weirdo but then Fortnite came out and I was all the sudden not interested in ark
Cooking pots negate the need for alphas with 2 and 4x notes
And then you die after grabbing all that for the xp buff 😂
My XP rates are higher naturally, I think needing to level my player is very very boring and I'd rather only be restricted by the resources I need rather than the level I need to progress in the game. I think many players felt the same, which is probably why WC doesn't really give a damn that it's super easy to get to max level player anymore.
We have all the explorer notes blocked😂
Can't eat your babies for xp no more... stay tuned for more tune ups !!
Grinning Skulls or Telvannis.. 5459.. be nice, get spice 😊
